Chapter 119 Work Report
The first thing Gin did when he got in the car was to insert the USB drive into his laptop and check the information inside.
He couldn't understand the professional materials, he just wanted to make sure the content was not garbled. As for whether it could be used, that was the job of the researchers.
Seeing that the folder was filled with densely packed professional terms and chemical formulas, Gin put away the USB drive with satisfaction and said to Vodka, "Go to the boss."
Vodka quickly turned the car around and sped towards his destination.
The car drove for five or six hours and stopped on a remote winding mountain road.
Gin got off the car at the foot of the mountain and warned, "Wait here, don't wander around."
Vodka: "Okay, big brother."
Gin adjusted the brim of his hat and strode towards the top of the mountain.
He walked quickly and soon reached the mountainside. He stopped under a tree and waited for a while. A man wearing a black mask appeared from nowhere. The man said in a deep voice, "Gin, what are you doing here?"
Gin glanced at him and said expressionlessly, "Of course I'm here to see the boss. I have something important to report."
The masked man asked, "Is there anything you can't say in an email?"
Gin frowned and looked at him, as if he was an idiot.
The masked man was silent for a moment, and then he realized that he had asked a stupid question. At this moment, the earphones in his ears came with the order from above, and he had no choice but to let Gin pass.
"Can I lend you a bicycle?" asked the masked man.
Gin gave him a cold look: "No need." He would never ride such a stupid thing.
The masked man shrugged, dodged, and disappeared somewhere.
Gin walked to the top of the mountain on his own two legs without any breathing disorder, which shows how good his physical fitness is.
A dome-shaped villa stood on the top of the mountain, and several men wearing black masks were guarding the entrance. One of them stepped forward and said, "Surrender your weapons." Another man stood beside him, holding a tray.
Gin reached for his waist, took out the pistol he was carrying, and placed it on the tray. He then took out grenades, daggers, steel wire and other weapons from various parts of his body, filling a small tray.
The man holding the tray twitched his lips beneath his mask, his heart filled with admiration for Gin. As expected of a man from that place, he could actually hide so much.
Gin took out all his belongings. The guard at the door was still worried and felt around him to make sure he didn't have any weapons before letting him in.
Gin was deeply disdainful of this method of guarding. Security equipment outside was so advanced these days that a simple pass through the lower body would reveal any metal objects, yet they still used such an old-fashioned method. It was truly backward. If they stripped someone naked for a full-body inspection, they could claim strict security, but what could they possibly find by just touching them like this?
To put it bluntly, if he really wanted to hide weapons, these people would definitely not be able to find them.
Every time he came here, he could feel firsthand where the organization was lagging behind.
After entering the villa, a man wearing a black and white mask led him to the reception room. There was nothing else in the reception room except a huge screen facing the door.
On the screen is the Karasuma family crest.
After a while, the scene switched to an unclear figure.
Gin immediately bowed his head and said respectfully, "BOSS."
"Long time no see, Gin." An old but rich voice came, "Is there something important you want to talk to me about?"
If it was an ordinary matter, Gin would directly send an email or call to report it, and would not come here.
Gin straightened up and said, "It's about the Tono Group."
"Dongye Group?" The boss pondered for a moment, then suddenly realized, "That's true. But I remember it should have been handed over to Rum, right?"
Gin said in a deep voice, "I don't know what's going on with Rum. I've had an unexpected development here." He then said, "Do you remember Hatori Yuiichi?"
"Hmm..." Someone on the other side of the screen seemed to remind the boss. "Ah, it's that kid. I remember Vermouth sent him out to study."
"Yes. He is currently studying at Toudou University."
“It’s a good school.”
Gin brought the topic back to the topic. "Rum previously launched a series of operations against the Tono Group, but it seems to have been ineffective. However, Tono Xi, the younger brother of the current head of the Tono Group, is a schoolmate of Hatori Yui and has a close relationship with him. I asked him to try to contact Tono Xi. Recently, he happened to have the opportunity to enter the Tono Group's medical laboratory, and he helped Vermouth to sneak in and steal some experimental data." He took out a USB flash drive and handed it to the man with a two-color mask beside him. "The data is in it."
"I see. Well done." said the BOSS.
Gin added: "Unfortunately, the situation in the laboratory is complicated, and Vermouth cannot complete all the tasks."
"It doesn't matter. If there's one, there's another. I believe in your and Vermouth's abilities." The boss seemed to be in a better mood. He said, "What reward do you want?"
Gin lowered his head and said, "I wasn't the one who carried out this mission, and it was just a coincidence. Gin doesn't dare to take credit for it."
"Sometimes, luck is also a part of strength." The boss said slowly, "Rum has come up with so many ways, but it can't compare to your unintentional success. This is fate."
The boss pondered and said, "How about this? I'll have Rum lend you some manpower to continue the mission."
Gin lowered his head and said, "Thank you, Boss." The brim of his hat blocked his eyes.
After the screen went out, Gin took his things and walked back to the foot of the mountain again.
"Boss, the person has left," said a man in a white coat. He also wore a mask, but it was pure white with only a black feather on his forehead.
The boss didn't respond for a long time, so the man said again: "Boss, is Gin overstepping his authority?"
"What do you mean?" asked the boss.
The man said more respectfully, "Gathering intelligence is Rum's job, and Gin shouldn't interfere." He continued, "Besides, the boss clearly stated that the task was for Rum, but Gin took it first. This is disrespectful to the boss."
"Hmm...what you said seems to make sense."
The man was delighted when he heard this. It seemed that the boss also disliked Gin's unauthorized actions.
He lowered his head to hide his emotions, but he didn't hear the boss scolding Gin for a long time. He couldn't help but look up and met the boss's sharp eyes.
His heart skipped a beat, and he resisted the urge to lower his head, and said again: "BOSS, Gin is disrespectful to you." He couldn't show a guilty expression at this time!
Unexpectedly, the BOSS closed his eyes and said, "No need to speak for Rum." Then he pressed a button with his hand, and a group of people in black masks rushed in, covered the man's mouth and dragged him out.
The man struggled desperately and begged for forgiveness, but the boss never looked at him again from beginning to end.
After the man was dragged away, another person dressed the same as him came in to serve him.
The boss closed his eyes and said, "I don't care who completes the mission. Just get the goods to me. The organization used to be hereditary, because I still have feelings for the old people who have always followed me. Now their second and third generations are less capable than the last. Since they lack the ability, they should just make way for others. Isn't that the truth?" He had been in poor health for a few years, and had given a lot of power to Rum, which gradually inflated his appetite. Now that Gin could suppress him, it was also a warning to Rum.
The new masked man bowed and said, "The boss is always right."

Seeing Gin coming down the mountain, Vodka immediately got out of the driver's seat and opened the door for him. After Gin sat down, he walked back to the driver's seat, started the car and left.
Gin rolled down the car window and stared out without saying a word.
Seeing this, Vodka asked anxiously, "Brother, what happened?" Although he was not very smart, he could keenly perceive Gin's mood. Now he felt that his brother was not in a good mood.
"Nothing." Gin said after a long while, "Go ask Rum for the person."
Vodka was confused and kept silent, driving obediently.
Arriving at Rum's recent base, Gin walked in with great momentum, but was told that he was not there.
"Where did he go?" Gin asked with a frown. The moon was about to come out, why hadn't he come back yet?
The gatekeeper was frightened by his aura and stammered, "We don't know either. The boss has been out a lot lately."
Gin lowered his eyes in thought and said to Vodka, "Let's go."
After getting in the car, Gin told Vodka an address and he started the car again. When they arrived at the destination, he found out that it was a sushi restaurant.
Are you hungry? Yes, you must be tired after sitting in the car all day.
He had eaten a little while waiting at the foot of the mountain. Those people wouldn't have invited him to eat, would they? Wouldn't that mean he hadn't eaten all day?
Thinking of this, Vodka said anxiously: "Brother, we are here, let's go down and eat something quickly!"
Gin didn't know that Vodka was worried that he was starving, so he glanced at him and said, "Order more later."
Vodka nodded and thought: Brother is really hungry!
"Welcome...to us." The owner's enthusiastic voice quickly faded when he saw the two people pushing open the door.
The other customers in the store were also frightened by them and stopped laughing.
Gin didn't care about what others thought and walked straight into the store and found a seat to sit down.
Vodka pulled out a chair and shouted to the manager, "Manager, bring the menu over!"
"Ah...Okay! Right over." The manager quickly took out a menu and handed it to him, asking cautiously, "What would you like to eat, sir?"
Vodka took it and tried to pass it to Gin, but Gin shook his head and refused. Vodka looked at the menu carefully and said, "First, a special sushi."
"Okay!" The manager immediately ran back to the kitchen.
Seeing that they were really going to eat here, the customers in the restaurant all sped up their eating speed. Before Gin's table's sushi was even served, they all left.
Vodka was very unhappy with their reaction. What, are we that terrible?
However, when all the guests have left, it's like the whole place is reserved for the whole place, and the big brother will like this kind of environment.
Vodka was just about to chat with Gin when he saw him leaning back in his chair with his arms folded over his chest, staring at the kitchen with interest.
Vodka followed his gaze and saw a slightly plump chef with a strange appearance.
He asked doubtfully, "Brother, are you looking at that cook?"
Gin said, "It's interesting, isn't it?"
Vodka could hear the smile in his brother's voice; it seemed he genuinely found it amusing. But Vodka didn't know what was so amusing, so he could only imitate Gin and stare at the man.
As he watched, Vodka suddenly realized something was wrong.
Why does this person look so familiar?
