Chapter 26 Chapter 26 A notice of dissuasion from Saifan, please check...

Yu Wei trotted back and gave Fu Zhouxing a bottle of water, asking him to share it with Xiao Qingyang. She unscrewed the other bottle and carefully put it to Pei Shuyu's mouth: "Brother Pei, drink some water quickly, slowly."

He quickly pulled out a bandage and alcohol pads. "And here, give me your hand. I'll change it for you."

Pei Shuyu opened his eyes and saw the brand new bandages and alcohol pads. He was stunned for a moment: "Where did they come from?"

"Oh, this. A kind person gave it to me when I just bought some water." Yu Wei explained as he deftly opened the package of the alcohol cotton pad. "He looks rich, but his behavior is weird. Come on, bear with it." He carefully avoided the edge of the wound and wiped the dirty skin around it with the alcohol cotton pad. The stimulation of the alcohol made Pei Shuyu gasp in pain, but the refreshing feeling of the wound being cleaned made his tense nerves relax a little.

Fu Zhouxing drank his water silently, but his eyes fell on the bandage that Yu Wei brought, which was obviously not issued by the military academy, and his eyes seemed thoughtful.

He looked in the direction where Yu Wei ran back, but there was no one there.

Yu Jingheng was choked by Lu Hean's crisp "No", but then he became interested again. He touched his chin, his eyes wandering over the people busy under the shade of trees in the distance: "If it's not him? Then who is it? Can you just tell me directly?" His gaze finally fell back on Lu Hean.

I can’t stand this brother who likes to keep people in suspense!

"Move aside, you're blocking my view." Lu Hean's gaze passed Yu Jingheng and fell on Pei Shuyu under the tree.

Seeing Pei Shuyu grit his teeth and endure the pain without a word, his fingers rubbed unconsciously, his eyes dark, filled with emotions that others could not see.

Ten minutes passed in a flash.

Under the shade of a tree, Pei Shuyu had barely managed to swallow a few sips of water, and Yu Wei had just sloppily wrapped a brand-new bandage around him. Pei Shuyu glanced at his hand. Although Yu Wei's movements were clumsy, they were still better than before, covered in blood.

The sharp assembly whistle tore through the brief peace.

"Everyone assemble!" Instructor Li Liang's voice was like ice chips hitting the scorching ground.

Pei Shuyu took a deep breath and stood up by supporting himself with the tree trunk, so as not to sway too obviously.

Yu Wei also hurriedly stuffed the remaining bandage alcohol into his pocket and helped him up. "Are you okay?"

"It's okay, don't worry." Pei Shuyu tried to straighten his back and walked towards the gathering point with everyone.

The next assessment was indeed a test of "hands-on ability," as Yu Wei had said. Obstacle courses, low-lying crawls, tactical coordination... Each one demanded extreme coordination and explosive power, and for Pei Shuyu, it was practically torture.

As he crawled low through the barbed wire, the rough ground rubbed against his body, and with each forward movement, his injured palm was forced to bear the weight. Sweat mixed with dust covered his face, and he could only bury his head even lower, relying on instinct and a breath to crawl forward.

Pei Shuyu had just crawled out of the simulated tactical coordination tunnel with legs that felt like they were filled with lead. Sweat mixed with mud was stuck on his face, and the new bandage had already been rubbed and covered with dust.

He held his knees and gasped for air, his lungs burning.

"Brother Pei, are you okay?" Yu Wei immediately ran over to support him and asked with concern.

Pei Shuyu shook his head and was speechless.

After two rounds of testing, he barely passed. He thought the test was over, but unexpectedly, Li Liang added another test item.

"Assemble!" Instructor Li Liang's voice rang out again, like an icy whip lashing at tired nerves.

Everyone quickly lined up, the air filled with the strong smell of sweat and suppressed breathing.

Li Liang stood with his hands behind his back, his hawk-like gaze sweeping over the dusty, shaky students, finally settling on Pei Shuyu's pale yet formidable face. The corners of his mouth seemed to curl downwards, a look of almost cold scrutiny.

"Physical fitness, adaptability, and coordination have all been tested." Li Liang's voice was not loud, but it reached everyone's ears clearly. "Now, let's test something else."

He paused, his eyes sharper. "Push-ups. Standard form, 65 or above is excellent, 35 is a pass. Complete within two minutes."

Everyone's expression was a little ugly, as they had already lost most of their physical strength from the previous assessment.

Push-ups themselves weren't particularly difficult, but after going through a series of high-intensity tests and having their energy nearly exhausted...

Yu Wei also looked at Pei Shuyu worriedly, seeing his frown fall on his newly bandaged hand. It was difficult for them, and for Pei Shuyu, it was even worse.

Upon hearing the news of extra training, Pei Shuyu's heart sank to the bottom.

The severe pain in my hands continued to scream, and my legs felt like they were stepping on cotton.

These hands...

He could almost foresee the outcome of failure.

In a trance, he seemed to see Huos standing in front of him again. He sneered at him, glanced at his hand provocatively, and silently mouthed two words: "Waste."

Pei Shuyu clenched his fists at his sides suddenly. Because he was angry, he ignored his hand injury. The pain made him immediately let go of his hand.

Although he appears calm on the surface, there is actually a little person like him jumping around like crazy inside.

He took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. No chaos, absolutely no chaos!

"Get ready!" Li Liang gave the order.

Everyone crawled on the ground, waiting for instructions.

The scorching ground and the fine sand. The sharp pain instantly made Pei Shuyu's vision go black, and cold sweat broke out. He gritted his teeth and steadied himself.

"start!"

A minute passed, and Pei Shuyu was almost relying on willpower to support himself. Every part of his lower body and injured palm was under tremendous pressure.

His arms were almost unable to hold on and were trembling slightly. He forced himself to maintain a standard posture, and every time he stood up, he was accompanied by heavy breathing and uncontrollable trembling of his arms.

When he finished the twentieth one, his movements became noticeably sluggish and his face turned as pale as paper.

Yu Wei and Xiao Qingyang, watching from the side, were extremely anxious, but dared not say a word. Fu Zhouxing pursed his lips tightly, his gaze fixed calmly on Pei Shuyu.

"Twenty-two... twenty-three..." Pei Shuyu counted silently in his head. Sweat soaked through his training suit, clinging to his body. He felt his consciousness begin to blur again, and the edges of his vision went black.

"There are only ten seconds left." Li Liang's voice rang out.

Pei Shuyu was unable to stand up and could only maintain the same posture, breathing heavily.

Hoss squatted down beside him and said maliciously, "Give up. Even if your hand is broken, you can't finish it."

Give up... Give up...

"Twenty-seven... twenty-eight..." Pei Shuyu's vision was blurred, and he could only see a small patch of ground wet with sweat under his feet.

Hoss's mocking sneer seemed to come from far away. He couldn't give up... absolutely not... He bit his lower lip tightly, the taste of blood filling his mouth.

Li Liang flipped through the scoreboard in his hand, his gaze sweeping calmly over Pei Shuyu's name and the glaring score behind it. "Time's up! Over!" Li Liang announced grimly.

"Pei Shuyu." His voice broke the silence, clear, cold, and without a trace of emotion. "Overall score: 58 points. Not even close to passing."

The entire training ground was dead silent. Only Pei Shuyu's heavy, dying breathing could be heard clearly.

Pei Shuyu's movements froze in mid-air. He had just barely completed the 28th one, and his body was still in the posture of preparing to stand up, like a solidified sculpture.

"According to the regulations, your membership in Sevan will be revoked effective immediately. You have three hours to pack up your belongings and leave the base."

Every word was like an icicle, piercing Pei Shuyu's eardrum and his heart.

The world seemed to have lost its sound and color in an instant.

Pei Shuyu still maintained that posture, motionless.

Sweat mixed with tears that had seemingly flowed from his body at some point in time left two messy streaks on his mud-stained face. He stared at the ground, his shoulders heaving violently, as if he wanted to say something, but his throat seemed to be strangled, and no sound came out.

Pei Shuyu's body was shaking, as if all his strength had been drained away.

There was a muffled "thump" sound.

He finally couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed to the ground, with dust flying everywhere.

"Instructor, it's not easy for Brother Pei to hold on until now with his hand injury!" Yu Wei couldn't help but shout out, her voice tinged with tears.

Li Liang had no expression on his face, his eyes as cold as iron: "Saifan doesn't need sympathy."

"The assessment is over! Disband!"

Li Liang's voice was like the final judgment, sentencing Pei Shuyu to death.

The people on the field dispersed in a swarm, leaving only the four of them in the dormitory. Yu Wei and Xiao Qingyang rushed over immediately, trying to help Pei Shuyu up.

"Brother Pei!"

"Pei Shuyu!"

Pei Shuyu didn't know where he got the strength from, but he suddenly raised his hand and avoided their support. His injured palm rested on the scorching ground, and the bandage was covered with mud.

He lowered his head, his shoulders heaving violently, and was silent for a few seconds.

Then, he gritted his teeth, used his intact arm to support his knees, and stood up little by little with great difficulty.

He raised his hand and took a look, and only one thought came to his mind: the quality of the bandage is quite good, it didn't rot even after being rubbed like this, and no blood seeped out.

Afterwards, he didn't look at anyone, nor at the anxious Yu Wei and Xiao Qingyang, nor at Fu Zhouxing who was standing silently beside him.

He just dragged his heavy legs, which seemed not to belong to him, and walked towards the dormitory building step by step, staggering but firmly.

And Hoss, who had been sneering at him, was like a poisonous snake, following him everywhere and could not be shaken off his mind.

The setting sun stretched his back very long, lonely and tired. Every step he took felt like walking on the edge of a knife, yet with a kind of stubbornness that refused to bend.

He was going to pack up his things and leave this place where he had tried so hard to stay but which ultimately rejected him.

There were not many people in the dormitory building.

After the group disbanded, everyone else chose to go out and have fun on their own.

Pei Shuyu slowly packed his things, and his three roommates, who were worried that something might happen to him, followed closely behind him.

"Brother Pei, are you okay?" Yu Wei spoke cautiously.

"It's okay, don't worry." Pei Shuyu replied lightly.

Yu Wei and Xiao Qingyang looked at each other and pursed their lips.

Pei Shuyu's condition was now visibly abnormal. Even Xiao Qingyang changed his previous cheerful attitude and stood aside, talking in a low voice with Fu Zhouxing.

I don’t know what they talked about, Fu Zhouxing gave him a blank look.

Pei Shuyu tidied for a while, then suddenly sat down on the bed in a slumped manner. His phone rang, and he took a quick look before picking it up.

"Um... I'm packing."

After waiting for a few more seconds, Pei Shuyu's eyes widened, and his face finally stopped looking disheartened. He stood up and stuttered a little: "You, you, you want to come pick me up?"
