Chapter 176 Crucible Report

Chapter 176 Crucible Report

"How are you?"

Percy spoke in standard English as always.

“I’m fine, thank you.”

Jian Yu answered in standard English as always.

Percy nodded with satisfaction, then pushed his horn-rimmed glasses on his face and said:

"Welcome to the Burrow, Mom and Dad have been talking about it for a long time."

Jian Yu almost blurted out the social etiquette of "Thank your parents for me" but chose to change the subject:

"Are you busy working? Am I disturbing you?"

This question seemed to hit the nail on the head for Percy. He became very proud and clenched the quill in his hand:

"Oh, yes, but it doesn't matter. Penelope should have told you that I became Mr. Barty Crouch's personal assistant."

"You know, I'm rushing to write a report for the department."

“We need to check the thickness of the crucibles. The bottom of the imported crucibles is too thin – the leakage rate is increasing rapidly every year, especially this year.”

Jian Yu was caught off guard and ate a mouthful of melon from the crucible.

She thought of Snape's figure carrying the crucible and leaving angrily that day -

I wonder if Sirius and Harry were responsible for the increase in leakage rate.

Percy quickly verified this:

"The data reported by the Partridge Crucible Store showed that the leakage rate this year was exceptionally high - but the owner insisted that it was due to wear and tear caused by collisions during transportation."

Ron curled his lips and said sarcastically:

"Excellent. I think the newspapers will have a story about the imported crucible leaking on page one."

Percy's face turned pink and he said angrily:

"What do you know, Ron!"

What followed was his words emphasizing that the bottom of the crucible was thin, which might waste medicinal materials and harm the rights of customers.

Jian Yu suddenly thought of the functions of the Department of International Magical Cooperation.

Its subsidiary, the International Magical Trade Standards Association, is responsible for supervising and evaluating trade practices in the wizarding world and promulgating and implementing international laws on trade standards.

Maybe she could use Percy in the future... like the import and export trade of game consoles after she goes to Europe...

After all, the Flamels had transferred all authority to her so that the couple could devote themselves to research.

She had to give him a lift.

"Excellent report, Percy. I've always felt that you have talents beyond being Head Boy—"

Persian's eyes, hidden behind his glasses, suddenly widened. He seemed particularly surprised when he heard the praise and stammered:

"Ah... That's right... This is my first job... I want to be down-to-earth... It's not as good as you say..."

He straightened his chest, opened the door wider, and motioned Jian Yu to come in and sit down.

Ron looked stunned, feeling like he had a new brother.

It's simply unbelievable that Percy could say things like "down to earth" and "not as good as you say"?

And he actually took the initiative to invite people in to sit down?

You know, the whole family was driven away by him because they made too much noise and disturbed his work!

After Jian Yu sat down in the armchair, he continued to talk:

"It seems that you are not the only Hogwarts student working for the Ministry of Magic this year - Gemma -"

"Alas..." Percy sighed heavily when he mentioned this. "It's like this, Miss Farley, she originally went to work at the Goblin Liaison Office..."

"To be honest, her position is not as good as mine, right? But I don't know why she was able to gain the favor of Director Bones so quickly——"

"She'll probably be transferred to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, as assistant to Director Bones—"

Jian Yu smiled mysteriously and replied:

"I think it's because she submitted some recommendations to Director Bones on improving the legal provisions."

She remembered that last semester, Gemma had black eyes and spent two whole weeks writing in the lounge.

In addition to those reports, it seems that a legal provision has also been drafted?

Anyway, Gemma assured her:

"Hermione Granger, she saw it in the newspaper and contacted me, and when we talked we found that we had the same dream -"

"We will definitely make those who speak nonsense in the future pay the price."

Although she didn't know what Gemma's draft was about, it looked very impressive.

"That makes sense." Percy looked even more anxious. "I'd have to write a report like that, too - but a cauldron - well -"

He flipped through the unfinished report on his desk, and unconsciously turned the thick book, his brows tightly furrowed.

I guess a report that measures the bottom of a crucible according to standards cannot compete with sophisticated legal provisions.

His competitive spirit made him distressed.

"Look at the details and see the big picture." Jian Yu gave him some advice. "Look at the details. This is a complete standardization document for crucibles. When you formulated the standard for the thickness of the crucible bottom, did you consider the deviations of its outer diameter, straight wall thickness, curved wall thickness, height, and roundness?"

"In addition to thickness, have you considered the number of scratches, impurities, bubbles, and pits?"

"Or perhaps a standard for the amount of metal in a crucible? The amount of metal impurities in pewter, brass, silver, or gold crucibles?"

Percy looked at her as if he were looking at Merlin.

His eyes seemed to be cleared of fog and suddenly became clear:

"Merlin, that's it! This is how product standardization should be!"

He scratched his hair hard, picked up the feather pen, dipped it in ink and started to write down Jian Yu's suggestions.

After a few minutes, he seemed to realize something, and he shook off his excitement and waved his wand, and the tea automatically flew in front of her.

"Hey!" Ron shouted. "Percy, did you forget I was still here? Where's my tea?"

Percy didn't even notice that he had a brother here. He ignored Ron's buzzing and frowned in annoyance.

"But who will test so many standards? If international standards become stricter, what should we do if domestic standards cannot meet them?"

"That's the big picture." Jian Yu answered him, "It involves the scope of management and the division of departmental functions."

"For example, a market supervision and management office can be set up under the Magic Trade Standards Association. The Standards Association will issue standardization policies, systems and other documents, coordinate and guide the supervision of industry and enterprise standards; and the market supervision and management office will be responsible for random inspections, protecting consumer rights, and maintaining market order and fairness..."

Percy looked like he would drop to his knees for her right then and there.

"What a genius idea! What a brilliant suggestion—!"

He stood up and waved his wand, turning the armchair under Jian Yu into a leather sofa, served her tea, and turned the lights brighter.

"Hey! Percy!" Ron waved his hand in front of Percy's eyes, listening to something he didn't understand at all. "Where's mine? Where's my tea?"

Percy finally noticed his brother was still in the room.

"Why are you still here?" He frowned at Ron, as if he was looking at a pile of shit, and even covered his nose. "This is all Ministry of Magic secrets--"

He pushed Ron out the door like he was sweeping away bedbugs with a broom:

"Why are you standing here instead of helping your mother cook?"

Ron struggled to be kicked out by his brother, and his family status was exposed.

"Alright," Percy breathed a sigh of relief after driving his brother away, and then looked at Jian Yu with gratitude, "I dare say this will be a masterpiece!"

"Mr. Crouch...Although he is very busy, he is the most responsible person! I believe this will make his eyes light up!"

"Why don't we discuss this again—"
