Chapter 178 World Cup (I)
"Mom is calling us, Jade, wake up!"
Ginny whispered into her pillow, she was awake and getting dressed in silence.
Jian Yu, who climbed up with difficulty, felt that he was walking in front and his soul was chasing behind him. He couldn't help yawning.
The only two people who seemed to be in high spirits were the Weasley twins. They approached Jane mysteriously and said:
"Good news, Mom approved our joke shop plan!"
"Thanks to you, she read the parchment with the business plan and listened to us for hours—"
"She got a lot of scolding, but she finally agreed!"
If everyone wasn't here, Fred and George would almost lift her up into the sky!
"But we still have to finish school." George shrugged. "Of course, the same old thing, don't cause trouble in school--"
Jian Yu nodded in a daze, and did not forget to suggest them:
"It's the World Cup, a great opportunity to promote and sell goods - do you want to sell something?"
The twins whistled as they opened the bag and showed Jian Yu the contents, which contained piles of Fat Tongue Toffees.
"Unfortunately there's not enough space in the bag, so I can only put some sugar in it."
Jian Yu took a look and felt it was a bit shabby.
She thought of the fake wand that the twins had developed that Ginny had mentioned that day.
"Why not take a fake wand? Put it in the suitcase and I can use a traceless extension charm on it."
The twins' eyes lit up, they rushed upstairs and carried out their suitcases for school. Under Jian Yu's spell, they stuffed a mountain of fake wands into them.
Mrs. Weasley's voice came from the kitchen far away: "No trouble! Be nice!"
"Mom..." the twins cried out with a smile, "Don't you believe in your kindest and most tender sons?"
"It's hard to believe!" she shouted, but her voice was also full of laughter. "You go first, I hope you have fun!"
She dropped the syrup that was boiling in the cauldron, hurried over to hug Jian Yu, kissed her on the cheek, and glared at the twins.
"Thank you dear for giving us the tickets. I hadn't planned to come because there weren't enough tickets originally."
"I came with Bill, Charlie, and Percy at noon. They Apparated and are still sleeping in."
"Mom, I didn't sleep in." Percy walked downstairs, his face stiff and haggard, but his eyes were full of blood. "My report--"
"Merlin -" Mrs. Weasley screamed, "look at what you have become! Go back to bed!"
The group walked through the dark yard and set off.
"Wizards are coming here from all over the world," Mr. Weasley pointed to the village ahead, "For those who can't Apparate, we use Portkeys. The nearest one is at the top of Ferret Hill. That's where we're going."
Jian Yu started climbing the mountain while feeling sleepy, but fortunately her excellent physical strength allowed her to reach the top successfully, and she even supported Ginny all the way.
"Honestly, I feel a little sorry for Flint that you're not joining the Quidditch team—"
Suddenly a male voice came from the other side.
She looked in the direction of the voice and saw Cedric striding towards her. Behind him - his father, was calling out Mr. Weasley's name.
"Long time no see." She greeted.
"The portkey is over there," Cedric smiled, leading them to the other side. "A moldy old boot."
The two sides greeted each other and got to know each other, but perhaps because of the competition on the court, the twins did not look very happy.
They seemed even more unhappy after Cedric's father, Amos Diggory, blew his son's mouth.
"I've always hoped that you could come to the game." Cedric and Jian Yu were at the end of the team. "Last semester I wrote a revision proposal for Quidditch..."
"We wrote that, too," Fred and George interrupted. "Don't forget there's more than one Quidditch player here—"
"Oh, that's right." Cedric was still very gentle and steady, as if he ignored the thorns in their words. "That doesn't matter. I think only by gathering everyone's strength can we improve this game better."
The twins were caught in the middle of the blockage, and they choked so much that they rolled their eyes.
......
After a dizzying spin caused by the hook hooking her belly button, Jian Yu stood on a wasteland.
The two wizards from the Ministry of Magic checked the list and continued walking forward. They said goodbye to Diggory and his son who were in another camp and declined Jane Yu's invitation to watch the game with them. Then they came to Mr. Roberts, the camp manager.
Jane Yu was confused because Mr. Roberts was a Muggle and she didn't understand why Muggles were allowed to manage the camp.
"obliviate!"
A wizard in knickerbockers suddenly dropped from the sky, complaining about Ludo Bagman's lack of caution towards Muggles and his lack of concern for safety.
"For this reason, I have to recite the Oblivion Charm for him more than ten times a day! Although this camp is his, if Bagman can think about the safety issue, he can send a wizard to replace him. At worst, he can leave the money to the Muggle in the end-"
He Disapparated with some mumbling, and Mr. Weasley led them further into the camp, where they set up their tents 'the Muggle way'.
Jian Yu decided to get out of the tent to get some fresh air.
She soon realized the mistake of her decision, because as she moved around more and more, she had to start dealing with new classmates who popped up like mushrooms after rain.
Wood...Flint...Davis...McMillan...
This camping trip seemed to have turned into some kind of large-scale meet-up.
Fortunately, Draco rescued her in time. The Malfoy family's tent was standing conspicuously in the middle of the venue, like a small palace.
He looked a lot taller, but he spoke in a familiar tone, beginning with a complaint about the Weasley family:
"I saw it all, the red-haired mole and the two replicas, and you were with them again!"
But he quickly steered clear of the minefield and began talking about Ireland and Bulgaria:
"I think the Irish team can win, what do you think? Their eagle-head offensive formation and Boskov tactics are wonderful—"
"But Bulgaria has Krum, and once he catches the Snitch—"
His rambling continued even in front of his parents.
The two sides exchanged pleasantries first, and Lucius tapped his snake-head cane to inform Jian Yu of the progress of the promotion:
"I donated some money and some video game consoles to St Mungo's and placed an advert in the World Cup."
"You and your guardian will be able to see the contents of the opening ceremony later—"
Jane Yu was sensitive enough to notice that he mentioned her guardian, Dumbledore.
This was unlike Lucius, who usually avoided mentioning him in good conversation.
Narcissa's face still had the same expression as usual, but there was a hint of worry between her brows:
"There are so many people watching, it's hard to be at ease watching the game alone—"
"Your guardian had better be here - if he's not here, come sit with Draco in our tent after the game."
Jian Yu realized something was wrong.
They were obviously worried about something.
And this may require Dumbledore to solve.
She decided to use her own patronus to send another message to her guardian.
