Chapter 200 The Game Begins (Part 1)
"Now all the warriors must go to the field below to participate in the first event."
Jane Yu had just finished her meal in the auditorium when Professor Snape appeared in front of her with his usual gloomy expression.
Because their owner was too excited, the forks of the surrounding snakes clinked into the plate.
Facing Snape's death gaze, they gritted their teeth and made cheering gestures and mouthed "good luck".
"What are the improved mixing steps for the Living Hell Potion?"
Snape, walking ahead with his robes swinging in his hands, suddenly asked.
"Uh... stirring the potion counterclockwise seven times and then stirring it clockwise once can make it clearer faster?"
Jian Yu felt confused.
What, does she have to take a Potions exam before taking part in her first project?
The fire dragon shouldn't be able to be knocked down by her potion?
But Snape seemed to think that talking about potions before the game was a good way to relieve tension, and continued to comment:
"It seems your brain hasn't been so nervous that it stops working."
He took the test from the Living Hell Potion to the Polyjuice Potion, and finally stopped in front of the tent, the corner of his mouth twitched:
"Mr. Bagman is in there. He'll show you the steps. Good luck."
But when Jian Yu entered the tent, she found that everyone was looking at her with awe, as if she had already won first place before the competition even started.
She looked around at the warriors in surprise. Fleur was very pale, having lost her usual composure; Krum's face was darker than Snape's cellar; Cedric smiled at her, but his legs were pacing back and forth uncontrollably.
Harry gave her a twisted expression, which she guessed was a smile.
But it was clear that the nerves that controlled the movements of his facial muscles were completely disrupted.
"Miss Jane, that's great!" Mr. Bagman looked very happy. "The most confident contestant. We heard your conversation with Professor Snape. You weren't nervous at all. You could even make a few potions, right?"
The case was solved, and Jian Yu finally understood why the brave warriors looked at her with such awe.
To be honest, she wasn't nervous.
After all, once she entered the venue she could just lie down peacefully and surrender, so what was there to be nervous about?
But her calmness seemed to make the four warriors around her even more anxious.
Every muscle in her body was relaxed, and she even leaned back in her chair holding a small mirror... admiring her teeth?
She was actually thinking about making a few pots of living hell soup after the competition was over?
Is this the world of the strong?
Be calm and composed in the face of chaos?
Fleur and Krum looked up at her from time to time, their faces turning green.
Why didn't anyone tell them before they came that they would face such a formidable competitor?
No, I can't look at her anymore, this is definitely her psychological tactic!
This Hogwarts is truly full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers!
"You will draw a small model of the thing you will face!" Bagman held a purple silk bag in front of them, as if he didn't feel the tense atmosphere of the warriors at all, and said happily, "Your task is to go through them and pick up the golden eggs!"
Jian Yu reached into the bag and pulled out a small, lifelike dragon model - a Ukrainian iron belly with a number 5 tied around its neck.
Then came a long wait, and Cedric entered the venue with his fists clenched, and the audience burst into screams, gasps, and cheers...
"Danger! Oops!"... "This move is really dangerous!"... "Very smart idea!"...Bagman's commentary is getting better and better.
There was a deafening cheer, followed by hoarse grunts from the throats of the warriors who were still waiting.
The next contestant, Furong, left the tent trembling and holding her head high, and the same process began again.
Jane Yu glanced at Harry, only to find that he was also looking at her.
The protagonist seemed to have completely lost his ability to think. He clenched his back teeth tightly. Jian Yu could hear the sound of his heart beating even from two meters away.
If he were given a heart rate monitor now, his heart rate would probably soar to over 180.
Jian Yu couldn't help but look at him a few more times.
The game is paused, call an ambulance to save the child!
Unfortunately, there was no ambulance in Hogwarts, and there were only her, Harry, and Krum who avoided meeting her eyes in the small tent.
Jian Yu decided to help the protagonist to prevent him from having a heart attack before defeating Voldemort.
"What are the ingredients and principles of the antidote, Harry?"
She decided to go with Snape's approach, after all, high-end ways to relieve tension often only required simple potion questions.
"Ah?" Harry made a confused sound in his throat, revealing a weak, pitiful and helpless look.
The thumping sound coming from his chest became louder, as if it had soared to over 200.
For some reason, he seemed to see a figure in a pitch-black robe standing in front of him, grinning at him and saying that he would deduct 50 points from Gryffindor.
Harry, who felt like he was about to faint, rubbed his eyes, thinking that he was too nervous and his eyesight was blurry.
How could I think that Jian Yu turned into Snape?
No, could it be that Snape drank the Polyjuice Potion to participate in the competition? Want to harm yourself?
He guessed vaguely.
Jian Yu frowned.
Was it because the questions she asked were too difficult?
But isn’t this what fourth graders learn in the second lesson of the new semester?
She lowered her head and thought for a moment, and felt that she should change to some familiar questions that Snape had asked Harry.
“What would I get if I added powdered narcissus root to a wormwood infusion?”
Harry's mouth moved on its own, almost without thinking, like a conditioned reflex. It seemed that he was too impressed by the question:
"A very powerful sleeping pill, a dose of life and death water."
Jian Yu smiled and then continued to ask:
"Then the bezoars—"
Before she could finish her question, Harry's mouth went into full automatic mode:
"In the goat's stomach, it has a strong detoxifying effect; Aconitum naviculatum and Aconitum chamaejasme are the same plant, also collectively known as Aconitum."
He received high praise from her:
"50 points to Gryffindor."
Harry was stunned for a few seconds, then he burst into laughter, and almost laughed out tears.
It's confirmed, this is definitely not Snape who drank the Polyjuice Potion.
After all, Snape wouldn't give Gryffindor 50 points.
Jian Yu observed Harry and realized that the pounding heartbeat had gradually become lighter.
It looked like his heart rate had dropped, so there was no need to call an ambulance.
She nodded with satisfaction.
It was a pity that she forgot one thing when she was helping Harry lower his heart rate -
There is also a contestant from Durmstrang, Krum, with a gloomy face.
Even though he had the strong psychological quality of a world-renowned Quidditch player, his heart rate gradually increased under such stimulation.
He angrily blocked his ears with his two index fingers and refused to listen to what the two said.
This Hogwarts student can actually chat about potions before the competition!
Don’t these two people take the fire dragon and these powerful opponents seriously at all?
This must be a Hogwarts conspiracy! So as to break through his psychological defenses!
This British school is horrible!
