Chapter 289 Azkaban (I)

Chapter 289 Azkaban (I)

Azkaban.

This is a small island in the North Sea, and the map cannot be verified.

Perhaps no one knows its location except the prisoners held inside and some employees of the Ministry of Magic.

The wind and waves were strong around, and there were mournful and whimpering sounds, which seemed to be the wails of people who had died tragically here; every wall was soaked with despair and pain, which was what the Dementors fed on to survive.

Jane Yu and Dumbledore got off the boat. She gently touched the silver badge on her chest, which also exuded an ominous aura, as if it was the embodiment of resentment.

——That was her and Dumbledore's identification.

Now, instead of Jade Jane and Albus Dumbledore, they were Ministry of Magic Aurors Prout and Robards.

"Remember, don't let your emotions fluctuate." Dumbledore reminded, "Anyone who comes here should be in a low mood."

Almost at the moment he finished speaking, a tattered, pitch-black cloak floated towards them. It was a Dementor, and it made meaningless sounds - and Jian Yu couldn't even tell which part of its body the sound, hoarse than sawing wood, came from.

But she suddenly felt that the Momoran in her body, who was usually docile and allowed her to knead it into various shapes, suddenly moved.

The Dementor paused for a moment, feeling the meaning of the badges on the chests of the two people in front of it, it floated away again, its slender body as if it had been soaked and rotten floated upwards and disappeared into the window.

Dumbledore stopped outside the castle and waved his wand.

Jian Yu knew that it was a trace-revealing spell because a pale golden light was spreading on the ground.

There are no footprints. No one has set foot here for some time.

Dumbledore then chanted a spell, causing golden light to fly upwards and spread across the entire wall of Azkaban -

The light gradually gathered, and it was the back of a person flying upwards... But Jian Yu felt that it did not seem to be called a person...

Because he was covered in a robe and his head was very big, much bigger than his body.

He was wrapped in thick bandages and was as thin as a matchstick or a firewood stick.

She couldn't see his face; it was hidden beneath the thick hood.

But he gave her a familiar yet strange feeling... She knew who gave it to her——

Voldemort!

"Avensegium"

Another golden light extended from under the feet of the two people, gradually turning into a curved line and sinking into the castle.

Dumbledore moved, and Jian Yu followed him, looking up -

Voldemort's shadow flew around the outer wall of Azkaban, then changed direction, flew to a window and disappeared inside.

"This is not good." Dumbledore was stunned for a moment, his lips and beard moved slightly, "He has recovered a lot... and is moving very quickly."

He hesitated for a moment, then plunged the tip of his wand into the sea water.

A silver-white phoenix spurted out from the tip of the magic wand, condensed into shape under the seabed, and flew out quickly, probably delivering a message to Director Bones.

"I hope it won't be angry." He spread his hands. "If we let the phoenix swim, it might not be happy."

Dumbledore walked towards the prison door and said:

"Stay with me, Jade. We have no choice but to go back. Keep quiet."

Jane Yu followed behind Dumbledore, and almost the moment she stepped into Azkaban, a cold and damp breath swept over her body.

She had never seen so many Dementors before, and she had to be very careful not to bump into any of them -

Because their limbs seem to be blistered, and their bodies are covered with scabs and pustules.

But she inexplicably felt a desire to hunt, a tense, adrenaline-pumping feeling.

Mo Moran moved twice more, as if he was a hound that saw its prey trying to escape, and was waiting eagerly for his owner to loosen the collar around his neck.

Jian Yu pushed it back when it was almost floating up to the skin, causing it to twist twice in grievance.

The two men passed by one cell after another.

Apart from the sound of waves hitting the rocks outside the prison, Jian Yu could not hear any human voice. The prisoners on this floor were all very quiet, lying in all directions on the stone beds, as if they were asleep.

But she knew that they were not asleep, but were imprisoned in the cells by the depression in their own minds.

The Dementors had already sucked away their happiness, leaving behind only the walking dead.

The Dementors began to deliver food to the prisoners. They opened the doors of the cells one by one and checked the conditions of the prisoners inside.

The prisoners hardly moved, even when food was brought to their mouths.

Those who were in slightly better conditions opened their blank and empty eyes. The desire to survive made them crawl towards the plates and mechanically grabbed the bread with their hands and stuffed it into their mouths. However, the little happiness they just felt from the food was immediately sucked away by the Dementors who were waiting and swarming over them.

The bread fell onto the dirty flagstones, and the man fell straight down, becoming a living corpse again.

But many more were in far worse condition, and they didn't move at all.

The Dementors sniffed the emotions of the prisoners one by one, and they could tell whether they were healthy or dead.

They carried out the bodies of those who had died of despair or illness from the cells. Their pale limbs were piled in the corner, and some of them still had their eyes wide open.

Seeing this scene, Jian Yu suddenly felt like vomiting.

She retched but nothing came out.

She looked at Dumbledore, only to find that his expression was more suppressed than she had ever seen it before. Every muscle in his face was tense, his eyebrows were tightly knitted together in anger, and his blue eyes showed sharp rage.

But he could do nothing. He opened his tightly clenched fists and silently pointed upstairs, signaling Jian Yu to continue climbing.

Following the golden light of the tracking spell, the two passed the second and third floors together. The situation here was no different from that of the first floor.

But gradually, Jian Yu's ears began to hear miserable screams or crazy laughter, which came from higher floors.

She continued to climb upwards, the screams and laughter becoming louder and clearer, accompanied by bursts of sobbing and wailing.

She finally saw who made the voice, and she recognized it as a member of the Black family at first sight.

Because there was an arrogance on her face that was almost identical to that of Sirius and Narcissa.

Her hair was disheveled and she looked haggard. She seemed crazy, yet not crazy, because she leaned over the railing, staring at Jane Yu and Dumbledore with her eyes, and moved from one end to the other as they walked.

Jian Yu looked up at the prison sign - Bellatrix Lestrange.

"Kill you—"

She stopped screaming and instead uttered a threat incoherently.

She watched the two people walk upwards, and the crazy smile on her face grew bigger and bigger, and finally turned into a mad laugh.

Jian Yu realized that perhaps the people imprisoned in the upper floors were all strong-willed Death Eaters who had survived facing Dementors for more than ten years.

She saw several Lestranges and a Dolohov. They were all able to move and even remained calm in the face of the Dementors surrounding them. They slowly stuffed bread into their mouths.

They ate the bread and the Dementors ate them.

The happiness was eaten too much, causing them to groan in pain and the bread in their hands fell to the ground.

But after a few seconds, they picked up the dirty bread crumbs on the ground with their fingers and stuffed them into their mouths.

Hearing the footsteps of Dumbledore and Jian Yu, their eyes moved and they stared at the two with chilling eyes.

They also laughed the same laughter as Bellatrix, some low and some high, but all with joy and madness.

Jian Yu stopped at the last staircase.

She realized from the crazy laughter of the prisoners that perhaps on the last level, they would face Voldemort directly.

Dumbledore had obviously thought of this a long time ago.

But he obviously thought more than her.

He handed her a very small Deluminator.

"Besides him, there are also Dementors and perhaps these Death Eaters." His voice seemed to ring directly in Jane's mind, "Once they lose control and attack us, you use the portkey to leave... It will lead you to the Flamel couple. You can do it, right?"

Jian Yu stared at him. She wanted to nod, but couldn't.

She felt her stomach churning endlessly, which turned into a feeling of hunger, as if she was burning with stomach acid.

She pressed down the restless Mo Moran again. Sensing danger, it became more active and couldn't wait to protect its owner.

Dumbledore cast more than a dozen spells at her, making her feel as if she was completely covered by solid armor.

The two of them stepped onto the last step. Although it only took a few seconds to walk up one floor, Jian Yu felt like it had been a year.

She heard Dumbledore speak in a calm, casual voice:

"Long time no see, Tom."
