Chapter 29 Quidditch Match (Part 2)
The impact made her dizzy. Jian Yu finally recovered and got up from the ground.
"Hermione?"
After seeing who had bumped into her, she spoke in surprise.
Hermione was also hit hard, with a big bump on her head. She was crying, but her voice was anxious:
"Jade, excuse me, I have to go save Harry!"
"Snape is going to kill him!"
As she spoke, she struggled to stand up and tried to move to the side, bypassing Jian Yu and stepping onto the stairs to the teacher's seat.
But her ankle seemed to be sprained. She heard a "hiss" and then collapsed weakly to the ground.
It looks like this little lion can't walk anymore, Jian Yu thought.
"How are you going to save him?"
she asked Hermione. If she needed to go to the teachers' desk to cause trouble, she thought she could do it.
This is a great opportunity.
After all, playing a prank on a professor in public, in front of Dumbledore and other professors, would certainly destroy her image as a good student.
Maybe Dumbledore will give her a punishment like suspension from school!
Sure enough, a trace of confusion flashed across Hermione's eyes. After all, Professor Snape was the head of Slytherin.
But her recognition and closeness to Jian Yu still made her decide to take a gamble and tell the truth:
"Harry's broom was cursed and kept tumbling over and over, trying to throw him off."
"Snape has been cursing him, and I'm going to burn his robes!"
She looked ready to die, waiting for Jian Yu to judge her.
Do you support her?
Or report her to the professor?
Then she heard Jian Yu's clear, steady and calm voice:
"Leave it to me."
Hermione stared blankly at Jane Yu's back as she walked up the steps to the teachers' seats and left. She bit her lip and was so moved that silent tears flowed down her face.
......
Jian Yu strode towards the stands with his head held high, looking very heroic and confident, as if what he was about to do was not a bad thing, but something very glorious and righteous.
She walked calmly along the last row of seats, looking for Snape.
Soon she found her target, right in front of Professor Quirrell.
Aiming at Professor Snape's robe, she drew her wand and said:
"lncendio (flame blazing)!"
However, at this moment, a faculty member she didn't know suddenly spoke to Professor Quirrell, and the professor turned his head to reply.
Her spell hit Professor Quirrell's turban in one go!
"ah--"
The turban began to burn, and Professor Quirrell's entire head was surrounded by flames, and he let out a shrill scream.
He covered his headscarf with his hands and frantically slapped the flames, trying to put them out.
But the turban was wrapped very tightly and he was unwilling to take it off.
Jian Yu was also startled, and hurried forward to pull away the big turban with his hands.
Under the combined effects of external force and flames, her headscarf was torn off.
In an instant, she saw a scene that she would never forget and that made her crazy and sanity-ridden:
There is a face without a nose hidden in Professor Quirrell's turban!
When the face realized that it was exposed, it transformed into a black soul and rushed towards Jian Yu with its fangs and claws bared.
The soul passed through her body, and she only felt herself immersed in ice water and knew nothing.
Before she lost consciousness, a line of words flashed through her mind:
It’s over, this is too much!
......
According to what the professor present told the students, Quidditch was called off that day.
A dark wizard actually transformed into a soul form and attached himself to Professor Quirrell!
In the teacher's seat, Quirrell was restrained by Professor Snape next to him. An "Expelliarmus" spell directly knocked his wand away, and the Stunning Spell, Petrifying Spell and Binding Spell were thrown at him desperately.
When the black soul fled in the air, Dumbledore, Professor Flitwick and others acted quickly. For a moment, red, gold, black and green spells flew everywhere, including some "lost advanced magic", trying to trap the black soul.
But unfortunately, so many sophisticated spells could not cause any harm to the soul.
The black soul screamed and roared as it fled quickly, breaking through Dumbledore's spell cage, swooping down from the edge of the stands, diving into the Forbidden Forest, and disappearing into the dense bushes.
The heroic student Jian Yu who discovered that Professor Quirrell was possessed was attacked head-on by the black soul and remains unconscious in the medical wing.
The professor who recounted this incident wiped his tears with his handkerchief:
"Oh! Jade Jane! What a respectable student, what a great person!"
......
Jane Yu's story spread quickly in Hogwarts, and all the students knew that she had fought bravely with a dark wizard and was injured and unconscious in the hospital.
The entrance to the hospital wing was crowded with people who came to visit her. After being driven away by Madam Pomfrey on the grounds that the patient needed rest, they left behind many various gifts and bouquets, filling up the space at the entrance.
Hermione, Harry and Ron sneaked into the hospital wing to visit Jane Yu every midnight, but to their great disappointment, Jane Yu was lying on the hospital bed, like a jade sculpture, motionless.
If she hadn't been breathing evenly, they would have thought it was a corpse.
Hermione burst into tears when she first saw Jane lying on the hospital bed:
"It was because of me—she was trying to help me—that Quirrell attacked her."
The trio now know Quirrell's secret, and they understand that Snape cast the spell to protect Harry, and that the dark wizard possessed by Quirrell is Harry's destined enemy.
Harry also fell into a state of self-blame. He had never felt so guilty since he was born:
"No, Hermione, it's not your fault. This is all my fault."
"Jian Yu took the risk to prevent my neck from being broken."
Ron looked at his two crying friends with embarrassment and tried to comfort them, but he failed.
The crying attracted Madam Pomfrey, who kicked the three out and deducted 5 points from Gryffindor.
Now Ron was about to cry.
......
The Slytherin snakes were immersed in an atmosphere of panic and depression.
Many students wrote letters to their families, informing them that a dark wizard had sneaked into the school and hurt a first-year student, and their parents asked to take their children home.
The letters flew into Dumbledore's office like snowflakes, carried by owls.
But these requests were rejected by Dumbledore.
"Hogwarts is safe now and the dark wizards have been expelled," he replied.
This did not calm the little snakes' fear, because Jian Yu was still lying there quietly without waking up.
How terrifying must that dark wizard be to be able to hurt the most powerful person among them like this?
That day, Draco sat with his two followers and Blaise in the common room.
"Draco, what did your father say?" Blaise asked.
Draco frowned, but he was not too panicked:
"My father told me to stay here and not neglect my studies."
Then he looked at the clock, jumped up from his seat, and said:
"If you have nothing else to do, go back to the dormitory and go to sleep."
Blaise stared at his back in amazement and asked Goyle and Crabbe:
"What is he doing?"
The two of them winked at each other and pointed their fingers in the direction of the medical wing.
Draco sneaked into the medical room under the cover of night. He walked to Jane Yu's bed and was about to check on her condition, but was startled by a dark shadow sitting beside the bed.
"Theodore?"
He raised his voice, and it changed with shock.
His shout was so loud that it immediately alarmed Miss Pomfrey, who came to them angrily, followed by Headmaster Dumbledore and their dean, Professor Snape!
Both of them saw darkness.
Professor Snape stared at the two of them gloomily, and squeezed out a few words from between his teeth:
"Well, I never thought that the young masters of the Malfoy and Nott families would break into the hospital wing at night."
"It really makes this place shine, doesn't it?"
Dumbledore looked at the two of them carefully, then looked at Jian Yu on the hospital bed, but suddenly laughed.
"Okay kids, I don't think you should be here at this hour."
After sending the two students away, Dumbledore and Snape's faces immediately became heavy.
They stood side by side in front of Jian Yu's bed.
Snape poured bottle after bottle of potion into her mouth, while Dumbledore waved his wand and cast one detection spell after another.
"These soul stabilizers... are useless." Dumbledore's hand holding the wand dropped weakly, and he spoke with difficulty, "Her soul was hit by the residual soul and left her body, leaving only an empty shell."
Professor Snape had a stern face, and the wrinkles on his sallow face deepened:
"That's impossible. Apart from the Killing Curse, I have never heard of any spell that can completely destroy a person's soul."
Dumbledore shook his head, his body hunched over, and spoke heavily:
"Severus, the mysteries of the soul are something no wizard can fully master."
He stared out the window, the moon reflected in his blue eyes:
"I misjudged a lot of things... I told you to keep an eye on Quirrell... but I didn't expect she was more perceptive than I was."
"The intersection they once had was Albania, but no one in history recorded how the incomplete soul existed in the world... I think I know now."
Snape stood there, like a marble statue, and he croaked:
"So, what you're saying is, there's no way."
Dumbledore did not answer, and the two fell into silence.
After a while, his gray beard trembled slightly:
"No... maybe there is a way... but I'm not sure if it will work."
The old man reached into the pocket of his outer robe with a trembling hand and pulled out something.
Snape looked closely and saw that the thing was red and it was actually a philosopher's stone!
