Chapter 294 The Truth Comes to Light (I)
Jian Yu's doubts were not answered until school started.
Dumbledore, who finally found some time in his busy schedule, had a heart-to-heart talk with her.
"I think we have achieved a preliminary victory," Dumbledore looked radiant, "in all aspects."
His blue eyes revealed a look of relief, and fell quietly on her:
"Everything is getting better, whether it's the Ministry of Magic that is getting back on track, the public realizing the truth, and you yourself...even me."
Jian Yu could feel that Dumbledore had returned to his usual gentleness and generosity, and his whole body was filled with something called hope.
"So what happened?" she inquired. "Did Voldemort and the criminals escape?"
Dumbledore stated the facts in a calm voice, as if the events that shocked everyone were just commonplace:
"Oh, about that, as written in the newspaper, Azkaban was destroyed, the Dementors disappeared, and some Death Eaters escaped. Of course, Voldemort also escaped. I think those reports are still very true."
Jian Yu felt like he had fallen into ice water.
She really found it hard to understand. Could this be called "everything is getting better" or "an initial victory has been achieved"?
"I think we have some different ideas about what 'getting better' means." She deadpanned. "This sucks—"
Dumbledore nodded slightly, carefully observing her expression, and then sighed in a heavy voice:
"Yeah, but I have to say, Jade, you did a lot in this matter."
Jian Yu let out an "ah" in confusion. After realizing what it meant, she felt the icy water surrounding her body became even colder.
Could it be that the consequence of her releasing the Obscurus was to release all the Dementors and Death Eaters in Azkaban?
It also affected Dumbledore who was in a 1v1 duel with Voldemort above, causing the boss to take the opportunity to escape?
This villainous behavior, which is comparable to a prison break, could get her sentenced directly to life imprisonment!
Jian Yu covered her head with the quilt in fear.
The four big words "No hope in this life" almost overflowed from her body, making her whole body filled with a resentment that could almost feed ten evil sword immortals.
"If I say I didn't mean it—" she began desperately, "will it be too late—?"
But Dumbledore's eyes suddenly flashed with mischief, and he said in a tone of praise that was like a roller coaster:
"I guess it's too late, because I have to give you some compliments right away."
Jian Yu uttered a confused "ah" again.
"Azkaban is the Dementors' cozy nest. In order to maintain superficial peace and prevent them from retaliating against wizards, the Ministry of Magic has not only not destroyed the fortress over the years in order to save manpower. Instead, it has sent prisoners to the Dementors for them to consume at will, despite opposition."
Dumbledore smiled slightly, as if he had reached some milestone:
"However, now we have solved it once and for all. Azkaban has been destroyed, and the Dementors have been eliminated by you. This kind of abuse and torture of prisoners should also come to an end in wizard history - although the way you released the Obscurus was a little beyond expectations, and it took me some effort to clean up the scene."
Hearing this, Jian Yu suddenly realized something was wrong.
The roast goose, roast pigeon, salted chicken, oysters and barbecued pork that she ate in her dream...could it be... ?
Images of scabby bodies, black robes, withered white limbs came into her mind—
This caused her stomach to suddenly churn, and stomach acid rushed down her throat and into her mouth!
"vomit--!"
Dumbledore looked at Jian Yu with a hint of pride on his face.
In his imagination, he would see a child who was a little embarrassed but would cheer for his achievements.
But he was horrified!
"Yu, what's wrong with you?"
Facing Jian Yu who was vomiting violently into the pool with her head buried, he gave an urgent call.
Little did he know that the only thought left in Jian Yu's mind was -
She never dared to overeat again!
......
Looking at Jane, who only recovered weakly after drinking several bottles of potion, Dumbledore felt that his conscience was being tortured.
He didn't expect that her reaction would be so big even though he just suppressed his words.
"Ahem." Dumbledore coughed awkwardly. "Anyway, ignoring the process, the result is good, isn't it?"
"If we hadn't gone there, think about what would have happened. All the criminals would have been released, the truth would have been covered up by Fudge, and no one would have stopped the Dementors from joining Voldemort's camp... The current situation is the best outcome."
He tried to change the subject in another direction:
"But, Yu, next time you do this, I hope you can consider the psychological endurance of a man over 110 years old..."
Jian Yu looked up at Dumbledore's face, but found that every wrinkle on it revealed some helplessness and...shyness?
She blinked in confusion to make sure she was not mistaken. It was indeed a strange feeling of shyness.
"I know you want to take my feelings into consideration." Dumbledore's voice was a little hesitant, "But perhaps I would have been braver if I were still young... So many years have passed, and many things are no longer my priority..."
Jian Yu felt that she had uttered more confused "ah" sounds at this moment than she had ever uttered in her entire life.
"When I get old, I would rather be with my family," Dumbledore said softly.
He shifted his gaze away and stared blankly at the corner outside the window, not knowing what he was thinking.
After a long while, he continued:
"Of course, I'm not saying that I don't want to see him again. It's very difficult for a person to sincerely repent for his mistakes. I welcome him to walk on the right path. I'm very pleased to see his changes while he's still alive."
"But, for me, this was really too unexpected... especially during a battle..."
No one could understand that when he was in the middle of a passionate 1v1 battle with Voldemort and was about to release the water prison -
The shock that Grindelwald’s sudden appearance brought to him!
He was so frightened that half of the sea water fell to the ground. Not only did he almost get soaked in front of the two of them, but he was also almost taken advantage of by Voldemort.
Jian Yu blinked in confusion, and she finally realized what Dumbledore was talking about. That was the reinforcement she had finally brought in!
"I know you want us to meet." Dumbledore continued, "But so many things have happened, so many separations and deaths... I have long since stopped taking many things so seriously, and our time and youth can never be recovered."
"Wait." Jian Yu couldn't help interrupting, "I thought I just followed the Deluminator to the Flamels to get some help?"
Dumbledore looked at her helplessly and sighed with endless tolerance.
"I understand. I understand."
Jian Yu half opened his mouth, not understanding what was going on.
What did his guardian understand?
He understood it, but why didn't she understand anything?
