Chapter 364 Weird Behavior
During the last few days of the holiday, Sirius behaved very strangely.
——So much so that Kreacher, the original resident of the Black mansion, thought he had gone insane.
When Kreacher was heating up the pan for Jane to prepare the 108th pre-school delicacy, Sirius appeared in the kitchen with his head lowered.
“Ahem…”
He deliberately coughed dryly to indicate his presence, looked left and right, fiddled with the salt shaker with his left hand and the black pepper shaker with his right hand, trying to touch all the bottles and jars in the kitchen and see what was inside.
"That good-for-nothing loser of Kreacher's mistress actually has a day in the kitchen."
Before he could say anything, Kreacher deliberately made the pots and pans clang like firecrackers, while still speaking steadily:
"I guess he wanted to learn how to capture the stomachs of other young ladies, but unfortunately he was a good-for-nothing, lazy, ignorant, and empty-headed. Learning to cook would be the icing on the cake for other young masters' love, but for him it would be superfluous and counterproductive."
Sirius felt as if he was so angry that sparks were about to come out of his mouth.
His face was distorted, and his chest was heaving, but he suddenly thought of something, so he forced himself to hold back his curse and spoke stiffly:
"...Uh...Kreacher...I'm asking you, is there anything I can do for you?"
All the spice jars and pots and pans that Kreacher had made float in the air with his elven magic and that were suspended above the cupboards froze in an eerie pause.
The next second, they fell to the ground with a clang, red, white, yellow, green, all kinds of colors and strange smells made the kitchen a mess.
"Kreacher's mother is such a grandma--!"
The house-elf was like seeing a ghost. Its bullfrog voice turned into a dolphin voice, and the pitch was almost too high for human ears to catch:
"Kreacher is finally getting too old to see the devil!"
He looked at Sirius in front of him with horror, and even his old, hunched back straightened up completely. The spatula fell from his hand to the ground, and the oil that was originally poured in the air fell into the fire, causing a string of flames to be three feet high.
"What are you doing! Kreacher!"
Sirius scolded immediately, but the next second he remembered what Jane and Dumbledore said, and Lupin's true feelings.
"Consider the consequences...be calm and rational...be polite and kind to Kreacher..."
"Calm, reasonable, polite, and kind..."
After repeating the refined eight-character mantra three times, Sirius quickly put away his angry expression.
He first waved his wand to put out the flames on the stove, and then repaired the pots and pans on the floor and put them back in place.
"…Uh…just pretend you didn't hear it…I mean, you're not hurt anywhere, right?"
Kreacher did not answer him. The house-elf's eyes were as big as bells, full of disbelief and shock. Even the wrinkles on his face were stretched out in shock. Confusedly, he stretched out a long finger and scratched his ear.
Sirius repeated the words again.
Kreacher looked even more horrified. Without saying a word, he stretched out his arms tremblingly, backed up until his body was close to the wall, his big ears erected vigilantly, and moved out of the kitchen little by little, parallel to a crab, and disappeared from Sirius's sight.
A few seconds later, there was a loud sound of a curtain being drawn downstairs, followed by Kreacher's cry:
"Mistress Kreacher - your good-for-nothing Master Sirius, he has finally gone mad -!"
The voice was so shrill and the content was so tragic that everyone in the house rushed downstairs and looked at him in astonishment.
But Sirius, who failed to break the ice, was not discouraged.
He began to provide Kreacher with 360° all-round care.
So the house-elf was forcibly pulled out from under the large boiler in the kitchen cabinet -
Instead, he was forcibly placed in a bedroom by his current owner.
"Mad!" Kreacher screamed, with resistance written all over every hair on his body. "This is really crazy! Seeing that Kreacher is about to be buried, you still want to torture him! Master Sirius is not only a coward, a scumbag, and an unfilial son, but also a lunatic!"
He tried several times to return to the boiler with his pillow and poker, but was pulled back by Sirius each time.
"Calm, reasonable, polite, friendly..."
This made the poor house-elf, who was still having to serve the "crazy Master Sirius" at such an old age, howl like a pig being slaughtered.
After failing to break the ice for the second time, Sirius decided to try again.
So Sirius squeezed into Regulus' bedroom.
Kreacher, who was cleaning Regulus' body and changing his clothes, looked at him in horror again and screamed shrilly and skillfully!
"I'm here to visit my brother, is that a problem?"
Sirius righteously sat down on the bed, waved his wand, and cast the Cleansing spell on Regulus.
Kreacher looked at Sirius as if he had encountered the most outrageous and strange thing in his elf life, and he looked at Sirius as if he were a freak.
"The young master is a hypocritical bastard!" The elf glared at him and cursed, "When he doesn't need Kreacher, he is the most useless waste in the family that the young master hates the most; when he needs Kreacher, the young master treats him just like he treats Potter, hypocritical and disgusting!"
As he cursed, Sirius muttered:
"Calm, reasonable, polite, friendly..."
He calmed down again and said stiffly:
"Of course I hate the others. But I respect Regulus, he is my brother, we both fight against the Dark Lord, otherwise why do you think I stay in this filthy house?"
Kreacher's back bent again, as if he hadn't heard anything, and he was still muttering obscenities at Sirius.
But after Sirius left, the house-elf stared at Regulus' face sadly, and a whirring accordion-like breathing sound came from his throat.
In short, after Sirius's "meticulous" care, Kreacher was finally annoyed enough to avoid him everywhere like the plague.
Where Sirius is, Kreacher will definitely not appear, and where Kreacher is, Sirius will definitely not appear.
This seemed to help Sirius's state of mind greatly, for although his situation and position in the house had not changed in the least -
But the frequency of the voices urging him to get married suddenly dropped.
Unfortunately, this seemed to have a great impact on Kreacher's mental state, making the elf wish he could curl up in Regulus's room 24 hours a day.
But Jian Yu accidentally discovered that
The elf threw some very old and small sheets and pillowcases into Sirius' bedroom like garbage.
They must have been something he had used when he was a child, for the name Sirius Black was embroidered on them in very old gold and silver thread.
