Chapter 15
The Easter holiday has arrived, but not many people choose to go home for Easter because there are not many holidays. Narcissa is an exception. She wants to go back to try on dresses. Ayala should have gone with her, but she was too lazy to leave school.
Narcissa knew her size and planned to order it directly. She said that she would be the only bridesmaid that day and her sister Bella, who was getting married, would come back to celebrate.
"I will miss you. Even though it's only for a few days, it won't be a good feeling to have an empty dorm."
Ayala hugged Narcissa, who was in a good mood. She kissed her cheek and walked away humming a song.
It felt very uncomfortable without Narcissa. She was alone in the dormitory, and Narcissa's clothes and her smell in the dormitory made her even more uncomfortable.
She could only go to the library to find a book to pass the time.
Maybe because there were no classes on Easter, these relaxing days passed very quickly. They were over in the blink of an eye. It seemed like the holiday just happened yesterday, and now I suddenly have to go to school today.
Narcissa arrived a little late, but she was in a good mood and sat down to eat without changing into her school robes.
"You're finally here. I missed you so much."
"My sister came back today, so I'm a little late."
"Sister? That Bella?"
"No, it's Andromeda."
Narcissa had never heard of her having such a sister, and was a little confused, but soon Narcissa began to speak.
"I have two sisters. Bella is the oldest and Andromeda is the middle sister, but she was expelled from the family because she married a Muggle."
"Muggle?"
Ayala now has some understanding of the blood discrimination in the wizarding world. Pure-blood families are divided into those who support pure-blood supremacy and those who do not. The families that support it hate Muggles the most and cannot accept any child marrying a Muggle. If this happens, the child will be expelled.
"Then she can still go home?"
"Father and uncle were out, and mother brought her back secretly."
"Don't you dislike her?"
"I envy her. She has the courage to leave this family."
...Ayala was unable to comment on this, but Narcissa quickly changed the subject.
"Do you want to see my diamond ring?"
"Didn't you show it to me on the day of the engagement ceremony?"
"Lucius gave me another one."
Ayala showed interest, and Narcissa held out her left hand. On her middle finger was a diamond ring with a pink diamond, which gleamed in the candlelight in the auditorium.
Not only Ayala exclaimed, the girls around were also surprised when they saw it. Narcissa looked at her with a smile on her face, and then looked at the ring on her hand.
"You must be happy."
"I will."
Narcissa couldn't bear to wear it all the time, so when she returned to her dorm, she put the ring in a box and then in a drawer.
The Easter holiday was over and it was time to submit the elective course list. Narcissa said that I had to choose at least two elective courses and a maximum of five. However, because many of the five classes overlapped with each other, I needed to apply for a time converter from Professor McGonagall.
Choosing courses is a question worth thinking about. Narcissa chose two courses at the time, Fantastic Beasts and Divination. These two courses were the most popular. Few Slytherins chose Muggle Studies. The least popular courses were Arithmancy and Divination and Ancient Runes. Basically no one chose them. Assuming that there were 36 people choosing Ancient Runes at the beginning, there would only be 24 people left in the fourth grade class, 12 people in the fifth grade, six people in the sixth grade, and... three people in the seventh grade.
Ayala was about to ask Evans, and coincidentally, Evans was also going to ask her.
"I want to choose 5 subjects."
Evans scared Ayala as soon as he opened his mouth.
"Wait, you mean you want to take Muggle Studies too?"
"right."
"...But aren't you a Muggle? Do you still need research?"
"...I'm a little hesitant too. I want to challenge myself to get 12 Os."
"You mean the fifth-year OWLs got 12 Os?"
"right."
"It seems that only a few people in the history of Hogwarts have ever obtained it. I remember Dumbledore did."
Evans began to ponder, and after a moment she made a decision.
"Forget it, I'll give up Muggle Studies and take four subjects."
Ayala nodded and lowered his head to continue writing his paper.
"What about you, Ayala?"
"Me? I'm planning on choosing Divination, Arithmancy, and Ancient Runes."
"You don't choose magical creatures?"
"I have no interest in animals."
Four subjects is a lot of learning. Evans is organizing his words, preparing to talk to Professor McGonagall about the time turner.
She didn't tell Wood what subjects she had chosen, but a few days later he told her he had chosen the same subjects as her.
Who knows whether he guessed it or someone told him, but in any case, it made her feel a little bad.
In June, the final exams were coming, and she began to study hard and spend time in the library, trying to get a good grade. All the professors promised that as long as she got an O, she would not have to do holiday homework. Because of this tempting condition, she studied hard.
Narcissa and Lucius' wedding date had been set, just a week after the holiday.
Evans asked her to review with him and recite the lessons every day.
Ayala suddenly felt that he was standing on a grassy field, and his whole body felt inexplicably relaxed.
She was not the only one here. There was a boy not far away, and she walked over.
"Excuse me, where is this?"
"Who are you."
Both of them asked their own questions. The boy did not answer her questions, so she could only answer his questions.
"Ayala."
The boy just glanced at her without saying his name.
"Are you worried?"
The boy finally took the initiative to speak. Ayala was indeed tired and under a lot of pressure, but in her eyes, the man in front of her was the one who looked worried. Ayala wanted to retort her, but a strange force in her body suppressed the words.
She spoke her mind uncontrollably.
"I don't want to review with Evans. I'd rather be alone or with Narcissa."
"Narcissa hasn't been able to find her recently. I'm afraid she's fallen in love too deeply and things might not be good for her in the future. The pressure of studying is too great... I don't know who I am. Isabel won't tell me, and neither will anyone else. They're all hiding it from me."
"I can fly without a broom, I don't think that's good..."
Before she knew it, she had almost revealed all of her recent worries.
She felt much more comfortable. The boy next to her listened quietly without saying a word. Then he turned around and looked at her, making sure she had finished speaking before speaking.
"If you really can't help it, you can vent it out or you can speak your mind boldly."
Ayala was about to say thank you to him, but the boy was gone, and she was no longer on the lawn. Instead, she was in her dorm bed, and at 3:10 a.m., she continued to sleep.
