Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Ayala had no idea what Hogwarts was like, and her aunt didn't tell her until September 1st.

She was woken up early in the morning by her aunt. Isabel dressed her in a pure white knee-length dress and braided her hair into two pigtails. This was the first time Ayala had her hair not down.

"This pillar, just run past it and you'll reach the platform. Oh, and take this with you."

Isabel pulled a small black box from her tote bag and opened it to reveal a bracelet consisting mainly of a black rope with a white round stone hanging from it.

Without waiting for Ayala to react, she tied the bracelet to her hand and chanted a spell she didn't understand.

"You can't take it off now. You must protect this bracelet. It can protect you."

"……I see."

She followed the others and rushed towards the pillar, then entered another station. There were people coming and going here, and she subconsciously avoided them.

Ayala boarded the train and began looking for an empty carriage. She arrived early and there were not many people, so she quickly found one. She tiptoed and put her luggage on the rack.

She was lucky that no one came to her compartment along the way, which was perfect for her.

She had changed into her school uniform early and got off the bus as soon as it arrived at the station. A giant holding a street lamp was standing on the road, shouting loudly.

"First-year students, follow me!"

She walked slowly towards that direction, and suddenly someone pulled her clothes. Ayala turned around and saw that it was the red-haired girl in the bookstore.

"It's you! I told you my name last time. I don't know if you heard it. I'm Lily Evans."

"……Um."

The girl was a little embarrassed. There was a black-haired boy standing next to her.

"This is Severus Snape, he is my friend... May I know your name?"

Ayala was a little unused to this kind of introduction by name, and she took a deep breath.

"Ayala Turner."

After she finished speaking, she turned and walked forward. The giant had already started walking. He did not stop until he reached a lake with countless small boats on the edge of the lake.

"Four people in one boat!"

“…”

Ayala was silent. She didn't like this kind of action that required her to be with others, but... it was unavoidable.

"Ayala!... Can I call you that? Do you want to join us in the same boat?"

The red-haired girl just now walked over from the side. She thought about it and finally nodded. The people in the same boat with her were the red-haired girl, the black-haired boy, and a girl she didn't know.

The boat would move on its own. She looked at the castle getting closer and closer, feeling a little confused. Was this where she would stay from now on? She didn't even know how long she would stay here.

"Ayala? Ayala? We're already here."

The girl just arrived and called her back to her senses. She stood up and jumped lightly onto the shore. The giant took them to the castle, where a woman in a green robe stood.

"Professor McGonagall, this year's new students have arrived."

"Thank you, Hagrid. You may leave now."

The woman looked serious.

"I'm Minerva McGonagall, the Head of Gryffindor House, and also your Transfiguration professor. Hogwarts has four houses: Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, and Hufflepuff.

You will spend seven years studying at Hogwarts. During this period, your college will be your home. During your time at school, I hope you can bring honor to your college and do not violate school rules. At the end of each school year, the college cup will be selected based on the college points.

I will take you in for sorting in a moment, now everyone follow me."

The woman turned and left, and she followed the crowd.

The woman walked around a corner and saw a door wide open. Inside the door was a bustling hall with many people. Her body trembled subconsciously.

The woman led them into the hall and stopped in front of a chair. She walked up the steps, unfolded the parchment in her hand, held the parchment in one hand, and picked up a miserable hat in the other.

"Whoever's name I call out will come up and sit down to wait for sorting."

She watched as people went up to be sorted one by one, and soon the black-haired boy was also called.

"Severus Snape."

"Slytherin!"

The Sorting Hat made its decision quickly, and the boy looked very happy. Soon, the red-haired girl's name was also called.

"Lily Evans."

"Gryffindor!"

Unlike the boy who made a quick decision just now, the Sorting Hat took a full minute to make a decision for this girl.

"Ayala Turner."

She walked up and sat down silently, the Sorting Hat covering her eyes, and she heard someone talking in her head.

"Let me see...your parents are...no, your parents have never been to Hogwarts. No, they seem to have been here. I remember them, but there is a force that has covered them up."

"…What do you know?"

"I know, but I can't tell you. Your parents used a magic to cover up those things."

"Then... can I retrieve these?"

The Sorting Hat ignored her question and said something else.

"You don't belong here. You don't belong to Hogwarts. You shouldn't be here. To be exact, you don't belong to this world. You belong to another world."

The Sorting Hat started to chant these words in her head, and Ayala was confused.

"...So, you won't sort me into a house, right?"

"No, since you have received the acceptance letter, you belong to Hogwarts in another sense."

Three minutes had already passed, and even the professors became curious. Could this also be a difficult student for the branch?

"Sir, several minutes have passed. Haven't you made a decision yet?"

"... Let me take another look, another look."

Ayala was speechless.

"Can't you just pick one?"

"No, I can't. This choice is crucial for you. You don't meet the characteristics of any of the academies... It seems that you can only go there."

"where?"

"I remember now, your parents are both Slytherins—Slytherins!"

About five minutes passed before the Sorting Hat called out the house. The darkness in front of her eyes was finally no longer there. Ayala stood up and walked towards the Slytherin table.

She found an empty seat by the side and sat down. She originally thought that no one would disturb her in this position, but her idea was dashed. Not long after, several people came over. The most conspicuous ones were the blond boy and the other blond boy who were leading the group.

"Hello, I'm Lucius Malfoy, and this is my girlfriend, Narcissa Black. She and I are both Slytherin prefects."

Prefect, what an interesting word. She didn't know what a prefect was, and she didn't understand why such a big fuss was made to come to her.

"...I'm Ayala Turner."

Then he introduced the people behind him one by one.

"We see you're here alone, why don't you come sit with us."

With so many people around, Ayala couldn't refuse. She nodded and moved with them to what was clearly the center of the long table. The blonde girl pulled her to sit beside her. She took a deep breath, trying not to let her body react.

These people are very enthusiastic, extremely enthusiastic. Even if Ayala doesn't speak, they will talk to her intentionally or unintentionally during the conversation, so there will be no dull moments.

After dinner, they were taken back to the dormitory by the class leader. The blonde girl pulled her sleeve affectionately and walked side by side with her.

She was led by the blonde girl to a tunnel entrance. There was a staircase leading down. After going down the stairs, there was a gloomy tunnel. The blonde boy was standing in front of a stone slab.

"The password is pureblood."

The stone door quickly moved to the side, and he walked in. Ayala quickly followed. Inside was a very spacious room. Half of the wall was made of transparent glass. Outside the glass was the lake, and there were even fish swimming by.

"Outside the glass is a black lake, and inside the lake there are mullet."

The blonde girl noticed her focus and leaned over to speak in her ear.

The blond boy began to introduce Slytherin House, but she didn't listen much. After he finished, the blond girl took her to find her dormitory. She said that there would be magic on the door of the dormitory for freshmen with their names written on it, but it would disappear the next day.

But after searching for a long time, she still couldn't find her. Finally, she discovered that because there were a lot of freshmen in this class, she was assigned to live with the senior classmate, who was the blonde girl next to her.

Miss Black was the only person living in the dormitory. She looked very happy and was helping Ayala collect his things.
