Chapter 11 Drunk, waiting for you to grow up so you can bite her as much as you want.
Smelling the aroma of wine in the air, Bai unconsciously swallowed, as if the monkey wine he had tasted during the day still lingered on his lips and teeth.
Zhong Jiuli paused slightly as she was about to put down the gourd. Her divine sense was so powerful that she could not miss the little tiger's subtle swallowing motion.
Thinking of how the little guy had stolen her leftover porridge earlier, she raised her hand again and poured wine into her mouth until not a single drop could be poured out of the gourd before she put her hand down with peace of mind.
"How is it? Does it work?" Bai asked impatiently, her pink nose touching the other's plain white clothes.
Zhong Jiuli slowly put down the wine gourd, placed her palm on Bai Ye's round head, and pushed her away a little.
"You're too close, little one." Her voice was soft, tinged with a hint of intoxication, like a clear mountain spring, cool yet softly intoxicating.
It made people's hearts itch, but fortunately there was no one else here except for her, a silly tiger who was concerned about whether monkey wine could heal wounds.
"How are you? Is your injury healed? Can I see the wound?" Bai asked three times in a row, his words full of concern.
"We're complete strangers, yet you care about me so much?" Zhong Jiuli murmured softly, her eyes reddening as if she were feeling the effects of the alcohol.
Seeing the other person's slightly tipsy appearance, Bai felt a little uncomfortable. She lowered her head and replied softly, "We're not exactly strangers; I already know your name."
Zhong Jiuli answered her previous question: "It has some effect, but not much. If you want to rely on this low-grade monkey wine to heal your injuries, you'll probably need to drink a thousand or more pots."
Upon hearing this, Bai Ye's brows furrowed involuntarily. The female lead's injuries were too difficult to heal. When would she finally receive her reward?
Zhong Jiuli leaned against the haystack, her fair wrist slightly raised, her five fingers plunging into the downy hair on Bai Ye's nape.
Under the moonlight, her slender, jade-like fingers slowly traced along Bai Ye's spine. Her eyes shimmered, and she smiled softly, "This fur is very soft."
Bai, who had been lost in thought, suddenly felt her short hair stand on end. She shouted in her mind, "Xiao Wang, look at her! Do something about her! How can your female lead even flirt with a little tiger?"
"She was drunk..." Xiao Wang's explanation was rather weak.
Before Bai could speak, Zhong Jiuli's voice continued: "Perfect for making a scarf~"
"Awooo!!!" Even the little tiger was startled into roaring.
Zhong Jiuli's smile deepened, and she scooped up Bai Ye's small body and hugged him tightly: "Little guy, I'm just teasing you! You're too small to be a scarf right now, you need to grow up a bit!"
"Sister... was that last sentence a joke too?" Bai asked, her voice trembling.
"Hmm~ Sister is sleepy, sleep with me..." Zhong Jiuli murmured softly, her eyes blurry with drunkenness, her arms tightly wrapped around the little white tiger, using her as a pillow, and soon even breathing could be heard.
Warm breath mixed with a faint scent of wine brushed against Bai Ye's ear tips, making her twitch her ears involuntarily.
Bai Ye stared at the woman, who was fast asleep, drunk, with utter despair. She really had sacrificed too much for the mission.
She tried to break free, but the other person's arms didn't budge; instead, they held her even tighter.
Bai sighed deeply and said through gritted teeth, "Wasn't your female lead injured? Why was her arm fine when she was carrying someone? And she has such a low alcohol tolerance, yet she still drank so much, and she even acted crazy when she was drunk. Xiao Wang, I think you have to pay more, otherwise I won't do this mission."
Ah...she just hugged you, she didn't do anything else to you, so it doesn't count as her being drunk and acting crazy~
"I don't care, you have to pay more!!"
[Okay, okay, I'll add it for you. But you should get out of her arms first. There's a scene here, but you can't see it!]
Bai also looked at the chapter that Xiao Wang had opened; the entire page was filled with squares, and he had no idea what it contained.
"If you can't see it, then you don't care. It's probably not a good thing."
[Then hurry up and escape the female lead's embrace. It'll be dawn soon, and your mother will be worried if she wakes up and doesn't see you.]
"I know, I'll try my best." Bai Ye struggled in Zhong Jiuli's arms, but after some effort, she finally managed to break free.
As Zhong Jiuli slept, she noticed the warmth in her arms disappear. She quickly wrapped her arms around Bai Ye's fluffy little body and caught him precisely.
"Go!" Bai also gathered his strength, flicked his long tail, and blocked Zhong Jiuli's arm that was reaching out to him.
Seeing that the other person's arm was about to strike again, Bai quickly grabbed the dry grass on the ground and stuffed it all into her arms.
Zhong Jiuli unconsciously hugged the hay in her arms tighter, and even rubbed her fair cheeks lightly against the hay.
Seeing that she had finally calmed down, Bai let out a long sigh of relief. She shook off the ruffled fur on her body and leaped out of the tree hole.
"This mission is inhuman!" Bai complained softly.
【Yes, this task is no human being, because you're a little tiger, Ah-ye.】
Bai, grinding his back teeth, said, "You're so funny, Xiao Wang."
【Doesn't Ye Zai like it?】
"I love you, I love you so much, I want to bite you, and Zhong Jiuli too, I want to bite her too."
After a moment of silence, Xiao Wang said, "Ah Ye, don't worry, you can bite her as much as you want when you grow up."
Bai Ye: "...Did you make a suggestive joke?"
No, Xiao Wang doesn't know what driving is.
Bai finally understood that this system was really not legitimate. She dodged the aunties who had just returned from the drying ground and dashed back to her own courtyard.
After lying in bed for a short while, Bai Ye heard noises coming from Bai Shu's room. Her little ears perked up, and when she heard footsteps heading towards the courtyard, she felt at ease and fell asleep again.
Bai slept soundly for a long time, and when she woke up, it was dark again.
She groggily rolled out of bed, pushed open the door, and saw Bai Zhu leisurely lying on a rattan chair, enjoying the cool air, gently waving a palm-leaf fan in her hand, looking extremely content.
"Mother~" Bai Ye trailed off as she walked over to Bai Shu, resting her fluffy head on her lap and looking up at her with her little face: "Why didn't you wake me up?"
Bai Shu chuckled and reached out to hug her. "You little ingrate, who said I didn't call you? I called you for breakfast and lunch. You were sleeping like a little piglet, and your mother still had to wake you up."
"Uh, I was just too tired yesterday," Bai muttered softly.
Bai Shu rubbed her deflated belly, picked her up and carried her back to the main room. "Let's eat. You haven't eaten all day. The little tiger is starving."
The candlelight flickered inside the room, and on the square table sat a bowl of chicken soup, simmered until tender and falling off the bone. Bai Shu ladled a bowl of soup and pushed it in front of her, saying, "Have some soup first."
Bai held the soup bowl with both hands, her little face almost buried in the chicken soup.
After a delicious and satisfying meal, Bai returned to her room with her round little belly and began meditating and practicing her exercises.
As the night passed, Bai opened his eyes, a hint of surprise flashing in them, his dantian completely empty.
The spiritual energy I absorbed while meditating last night has all vanished.
"Strange, where is my spiritual power?" Bai muttered to himself.
Good morning, Aya! A new day, and a new story begins!
"What's the plot?" Bai Ye's attention was successfully diverted.
[Hehe, going to town to find some bargains. Mother is going to the border town today to sell dragon tendons and horns.]
Upon hearing that they were going to the city, Bai became instantly excited. He had been in this world for so long, but he had never seen a city before.
She got out of bed and went out of the room. She saw several women standing in the courtyard. They all greeted Bai with smiles: "Young clan leader is awake?"
"Hello, aunties." Bai Ye trotted up to Bai Shu, hugged her leg, and pleaded, "Mom, are you going to the city? Can you take me with you?"
Bai Shu bent down and picked her up, smiling as he asked, "Did you wake up when you heard I was going to the city?"
Aunt Pang couldn't bear to see such an adorable child acting spoiled, so she immediately interjected, "Clan leader, why don't you take the young clan leader for a stroll? It just so happens that the prey this time was hunted by our young clan leader himself."
Bai Ye stared at Bai Shu expectantly, his eyes filled with anticipation.
Bai Zhu said, "I'll take you there. Go wash your dirty face first."
"Then we'll go back and get our things ready. We'll meet at the main gate in a bit," Aunt Pang said, before leaving the courtyard with a group of other women.
Bai quickly tidied himself up, jumped onto the dining table, and filled his stomach in a few bites.
"Come on, jump in yourself." Bai Shu stepped into the main room carrying a basket.
Bai looked at the basket with some resistance. "Mother, I want to walk by myself. I don't want to carry it."
Bai Shu resolutely refused: "No, you have to carry her. Our A Ye is so cute, what if someone steals her if she walks by herself?"
"Alright!" Bai Ye reluctantly jumped into the basket. The basket was very deep, and Bai Ye needed to stand up inside to stick his head out.
"Remember, don't speak in front of outsiders. There aren't many talking tigers in the mountains," Bai Shu carefully instructed.
"Aww~" Bai also let out a cute little cry.
"Great job!" Bai Shu praised her, "That's it, our A Ye is really good at playing the fool."
"Awooo!!!" Bai shouted angrily.
"Hahaha~" Bai Shu laughed, her eyes crinkling, and strode out with her bamboo basket on her back.
At the main gate, oxcarts loaded with mountain goods were already ready, and the group of people left the tribe in a grand procession.
The rhinoceros that pulls the cart is extremely strong, and can travel thousands of miles a day while dragging tens of thousands of kilograms of goods.
The White Tiger tribe was almost a day's journey from the border town. Before sunset, they finally arrived at the city gate.
Following the queue, after being checked, I was able to enter the city smoothly.
Bai also lay on the basket, his big amber eyes wide open, curiously looking at everything around him.
The shops on both sides of the cobblestone streets are four or five stories high, with blue bricks and gray tiles, and upturned eaves, making them look very grand.
Bai Shu lowered his voice and explained, "This place is actually a small border town, mostly used by merchants who come and go and stay here. The real big cities are much more prosperous than this."
Bai nodded her little head slightly, remembering her mother's instructions, and did not speak.
After Aunt Pang and her group entered the city, they split up. Aunt Pang went to sell mountain products, while Bai Shu led Bai Ye through the bustling streets and finally stopped in front of a magnificent building.
Bai looked up and saw the three large characters "Wanxiang Pavilion" on the vermilion plaque, which were vigorous and powerful, with the sound of war faintly emanating from the flowing strokes of the brush.
Bai Shu, carrying Bai Ye, stepped into the Wanxiang Pavilion.
The moment Bai entered the gate, he was dazzled by the overwhelming aura of wealth.
The dome was studded with fist-sized luminous pearls, illuminating the entire hall as bright as day.
The shelves, stretching as far as the eye could see, were filled with all sorts of treasures.
From divine weapons used by mortals to weapons, spiritual treasures, spirit beast eggs, and various talismans and rare materials used by cultivators, everything is available.
A shop assistant dressed in a plain long robe approached Bai Shu and bowed with his hands clasped together: "Honorable guest, are you here to make purchases or to ship goods?"
Bai Shu looked at the newcomer and replied, "For sale: one fifth-tier Black Scaled Flood Dragon tendon and a pair of horns."
Upon hearing this, the waiter's smile became much more genuine: "Then we'll have to have our manager take a look. Please, esteemed guest, move to a private room."
As the two arrived at the door of the private room, a woman in red walked towards them. Even before she arrived, a faint fragrance filled the air.
The woman's red dress was as fiery as fire, but it was not as eye-catching as the fiery red floral decoration between her eyebrows. She glanced at the two of them casually.
Her initially indifferent gaze suddenly stopped after passing over Bai Ye, and a captivating smile curved her lips: "This little guy... for sale?"
