Chapter 168 Modern Era 8 We Can't Kiss Each Other

Chapter 168 Modern Era 8 We Can't Kiss Each Other

"The receptionist said I couldn't go up without an appointment. I was afraid of disturbing you at work, so I waited downstairs. Anyway, you always pass by here after get off work, so I can wait for you." Bai explained why he didn't go upstairs.

Zhong Jiuli nodded and picked up her schoolbag: "Let's go home."

Seeing her head towards the underground parking garage again, Bai quickly grabbed her sleeve: "Weren't you going home? Why are you heading towards the elevator again?"

“The car is parked in the underground garage,” Zhong Jiuli explained.

“Yeah, right.” Bai patted her forehead. She didn’t have a car and subconsciously assumed that everyone walked on the ground after get off work, almost forgetting that her wife was a rich woman.

Suddenly, she remembered something and asked, "Since the car is in the underground parking garage, why did you specifically come to the first floor?"

Zhong Jiuli stopped and turned to look at her: "If I hadn't come, how long were you going to sleep in the hall?"

"Hmm, I guess I'll have to wait until I wake up."

"So tell me, why did I come to the first floor?" Zhong Jiuli glared at her and led the others into the elevator.

Once inside the car, Bai leaned closer to her, his voice excited: "Would you like to go to the movies with me?"

"Let's go home. We have a home theater." Zhong Jiuli leaned back in her chair, her voice tinged with weariness. "I'm a little tired today and don't want to go to crowded places."

"Were you tired last night?" Bai lowered his voice and patted his shoulder considerately. "Do you want to lean on me and rest for a while?"

Zhong Jiuli leaned closer, rested her head on her shoulder, and closed her eyes.

The car fell silent instantly, so quiet that you could hear each other breathing.

Bai lowered her eyes, gazing quietly at the person resting on her shoulder. Although Zhong Jiuli kept saying that she was already thirty years old, her skin was so thin and translucent that you could see the blood vessels under her skin, and even the fine downy hairs, as if she had her own soft, misty glow.

Even on her nose, which is most prone to blackheads, there wasn't a single trace of pores. Her skin was so smooth and delicate that it was impossible to look away, and she was completely mesmerized by her whiteness.

She didn't come to her senses until the car stopped in front of the villa. Before she could even say anything, Zhong Jiuli, who had been pretending to sleep, had already opened her eyes.

"You're not asleep?" Bai asked softly.

"No. My eyes are just a little tired." Zhong Jiuli said before opening the car door and getting out.

......

Back home, a steaming meal was already laid out on the dining table. Seeing the two return, the housekeeper quickly ladled out the delicious soup that had been kept warm on the stove.

After washing his hands and sitting down at the dining table, Bai looked at the sumptuous dishes on the table and couldn't help but ask curiously, "Do you eat this much every night? How do you maintain such a good figure?"

Zhong Jiuli rolled her eyes at her, annoyed. This woman, she really knew how to rub salt in the wound. What woman who was so concerned about her figure would eat such a lavish carbohydrate feast for dinner?

She gave a soft hum, but there was an undisguised smile in her eyes: "I prepared this for you."

Bai was slightly taken aback by what she heard. Looking at Zhong Jiuli's feigned indifference, a sweet feeling welled up in her heart. She reached out and picked up a piece of steamed grouper with her chopsticks, placing it in Zhong Jiuli's bowl.

"Fish won't make you fat, so you can eat it."

Zhong Jiuli looked at the snow-white fish in the bowl: "You've grown up. You even know how to serve food to your older sister now."

"Oh~~~" Bai nodded in realization.

"So you were angry this morning because I didn't serve you food first?" She said, pushing the soup bowl in front of Zhong Jiuli. "Here, this is soup Auntie made. Drinking soup definitely won't make you fat. From now on, I'll serve you food first at every meal, okay?"

"You talk too much." Zhong Jiuli picked up a spoon and stirred gently, using the act of looking down to hide the smile that she couldn't conceal.

Bai saw through it but didn't say anything, picked up the soup bowl and took a sip. As a college student who had suffered from the stench of hot pot in the cafeteria, this bowl of fish maw and chicken soup opened up a whole new world for her.

She finished the soup in her bowl in a few gulps, then ran to the kitchen with the empty bowl in her hand: "Auntie! I want a bigger bowl, this soup is so delicious, I want a big bowl!"

The auntie was amused by her and felt a sense of satisfaction, like someone who had been in the business for many years and had finally met someone who could "eat" children.

She happily took the bowl, then replaced it with a large soup bowl, filled it to the brim with golden broth, and even added two tender chicken drumsticks: "Is that enough, child? Auntie will give you more if you're still hungry!"

"That's enough, thank you, Auntie! The cafeteria should hire aunties with good cooking skills like you, not a bunch of Parkinson's patients." Bai joked, happily carrying the soup bowl, which was almost the size of a small basin, back to the table.

Seeing her posture, Zhong Jiuli couldn't help but chuckle and shake her head: "What, not satisfied with eating here, you want to poach my aunt?"

"How could I dare?" Bai sat down with a grin. "I just genuinely think your aunt's cooking is great. Do you want a chicken leg? I'll share one with you."

Zhong Jiuli waved her hand and refused, "You eat it yourself, I'll just have a bowl of soup."

"Alright then." Bai took a bite of chicken leg with relish and said indistinctly, "It's a pity Liu Yue isn't here, otherwise, with her fighting power, she could have devoured all the food on this table."

Zhong Jiuli paused slightly in her hand holding the spoon, her eyes narrowing as she asked, seemingly casually, "You...have a good relationship?"

"It's really good!" Bai nodded without realizing it. "She's like a pig, she eats everything without leaving any left. She finished all the breakfast I brought back this morning."

"I see..." Zhong Jiuli put a spoonful of soup into her mouth, her heart easing considerably. "Then I'll treat you two to dinner this weekend?"

Bai, still gnawing on a chicken leg, said without looking up, "I'll ask her after we finish eating. If she knew she was eating with you, she might be too nervous to eat."

"You're just spouting nonsense. Go eat your food."

"I've been eating, here, have another bite of fish." Bai also put another piece of fish on her plate.

Zhong Jiuli was coaxed and persuaded into eating a few more bites of food.

After dinner, Zhong Jiuli went back to her bedroom to wash up, while Bai Ye went to the media room, first choosing the movie to watch that night, then hiding the bouquet of flowers he had brought back behind the sofa before going to the guest bathroom to take a shower.

After washing up and changing into comfortable loungewear, the two went to the home theater together, nestled side by side on the sofa, and the screen, which had been frozen on the opening credits, began playing again.

"What movie is this?" Zhong Jiuli asked curiously, looking at the unfamiliar title.

"It's a good movie, lots of people recommend it online." Bai put his arm around her shoulder. "Let's watch it together and see."

The film has a relaxed narrative pace and fresh, delicate visuals, making it perfect for couples to watch on a date.

When the plot developed to the point where the male supporting character asked the female lead to write a love letter, and the second female lead was moved by those words, Bai chuckled a few times.

"What are you laughing at?" Zhong Jiuli turned her head to look at her.

"I just think it's quite interesting." Bai Ye twirled Zhong Jiuli's hair with his fingertips, answering somewhat casually.

"During our school days, we always liked to ask those with good grades to write love letters for us, but we never thought that words are actually the embodiment of thoughts. When you write with your heart and communicate with the other person with your heart, it is already two souls colliding. How could highly compatible souls not spark a flame?"

"Hmm, I didn't expect that Xiaobai, who only knows how to eat, could have such profound insights." Zhong Jiuli teased her with a smile.

"Hey, you're looking down on me again. I'm a very thoughtful person." Bai Ye proudly raised his chin and magically presented the bouquet of flowers hidden behind his back to Zhong Jiuli.

"This is for you!"

The sudden appearance of the bouquet surprised Zhong Jiuli. She took the bouquet and asked, "When did you prepare this?"

"I bought them before I came to see you." Bai Ye's eyes shone brightly in the dim light. "How can a first date be complete without flowers and a movie? After giving the flowers, a sweet kiss is the perfect way to start a date."

"Now, would you like to kiss me?"

"Idiot!" Zhong Jiuli carefully placed the bouquet on the coffee table, raised her hand and put it on Bai Ye's shoulder, her cool fingertips lightly tracing the back of her neck.

Bai shuddered, a tingling, electric-like sensation running down her spine. She opened her mouth, as if to ask why she was being called stupid again.

"Why ask questions at a time like this?" Before the words were even finished, she had already taken the initiative to speak.

Their soft lips met, and the only sounds in the home theater were the movie soundtrack and their intertwined breaths.

The kiss was very restrained, the touch of lips and tongue gentle and lingering, carrying a comforting meaning. Bai also remembered that Zhong Jiuli had said it hurt a little when she took a shower that morning, and at this moment she only wanted to have a simple kiss with him.

But as she herself said, once two highly compatible souls are ignited, the flame is somewhat difficult to extinguish.

Zhong Jiuli's hands tightened around her neck, a gesture that seemed both encouraging and pleading. Bai yielded to that force, kissing her even deeper, exploring the sweetness hidden within.

The film, which had been going unwatched, gradually came to an end, and a melodious tune echoed in the room.

The two people, embracing and kissing on the sofa, had only each other in their world. Their intertwined breaths, rapid heartbeats, and increasingly intense entanglement of lips and teeth spoke volumes about their longing for each other.

Bai Ye's hand seemed to possess its own will, reaching under the soft loungewear, his palm touching the smooth skin, slowly moving along the waistline, and finally climbing up the undulating peaks.

"Um......"

A soft sob escaped Zhong Jiuli's throat, sounding both pain and pleasure.

This faint groan was like a splash of hot oil on a flame.

Bai could no longer control herself; she pulled the person in her arms down and pressed them into the soft sofa.

After an unknown amount of time, until the air in their lungs was almost exhausted, the four lips finally separated with difficulty.

They were both breathing heavily, their hot breaths spraying onto each other's flushed cheeks.

"We can't kiss anymore." Bai Ye's voice was very hoarse, with a hint of struggle. "If we continue, we really won't be able to stop."

Zhong Jiuli gazed intently at her with his misty eyes: "Why did you stop?"

"Didn't you say you were in a bit of pain this morning? I was worried about you, you haven't fully recovered yet." Bai also tried his best to restrain his desires.

"Whether you're recovering well or not is not for you to judge." Zhong Jiuli put her arm around her neck and pulled her close to her.

Bai's arms, which were supporting him on the sofa, lost their strength, and he sank into her warm embrace.

The flames that had just subsided reignited, burning even more fiercely. Bai Ye's kisses moved down along his collarbone, lingering at the open neckline of his loungewear.

Through the thin fabric of her clothes, she could feel the other person's rapid heartbeat.

Zhong Jiuli tilted her head back impatiently, her fingertips gently scratching Bai Ye's nape, emitting a very low whimper with each suck.

Bai is like a greedy explorer who, having already found the treasure, insists on crossing mountains and valleys to open the most precious shell containing the pearl.

The pearl, hidden deep within, was snatched into the mouth of a greedy explorer. Zhong Jiuli's waist tensed instantly, and her feet curled up and then spread out helplessly on the edge of the sofa.

She was like a clam stranded on a scorching beach, parched under the blazing sun, yearning for rain to fall and save her life.

Just when she thought she was going to suffocate, the tide would surge onto the beach, sweeping over the parched shell again and again, washing over the pearl that was tightly guarded by the clam's flesh.

"Don't..."

The plea for mercy had barely escaped his lips when it changed tone.

Zhong Jiuli's fingers dug deep into Bai Ye's hair, unsure whether to push him away or pull him closer.

The tide pounded harder and harder, and the helpless shells could only tremble and open their hard shells, letting their softest flesh meet the onslaught of treasure hunters.

Until a certain moment, under the relentless onslaught of the waves, Mingzhu launched its desperate attack.

She sprayed out all the sweet, nourishing juices hidden deep within the clam meat that she used to relieve dryness, which she believed were essential for her survival.

The gushing fluid soaked the intruder and also drenched the sofa beneath him.

Bai finally agreed to let go of the poor, trembling little seashell.

Looking up at the woman before her, whose body was flushed and still trembling slightly, she reached out to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes, held her tightly in her arms, and calmed her heavy breathing.

Author's Note: [Heart][Heart][Heart] Hehe, has anyone seen this movie? Those who have should be able to guess which one I wrote about, but I think "Face" is even better. I almost died laughing the first time I watched it.

Especially the scene where the female lead has dinner with her girlfriend and her mother, those of you who haven't seen it should check it out. Remember to find the uncut version, because I missed the sex scene the first time I watched it.
