Small Crescent Moon

Small Crescent Moon

The wind at Yanmen Pass is as wild as ever.

The eldest brother, wearing a colorful headgear, squatted on the city wall, munching on a sesame seed cake, with crumbs flying everywhere in the wind.

"This wretched place doesn't even have a decent opponent."

He sighed and was about to head home when he suddenly caught sight of a petite figure below the city gate.

It was a girl wearing a pink dress, with a short sword that was more decorative than practical at her waist, looking up at the city wall and muttering to herself.

"Why can't I climb this broken wall...?"

The eldest brother squinted and looked closely. Wasn't this person a crescent moon?

It is said that she is so bad at martial arts that she is disgusting, but she is cute and many heroes in the martial arts world have a good impression of her.

The eldest brother stroked his chin and suddenly grinned.

"Hehe, the opportunity has come."

Crescent Moon was still studying the brick seams of the city wall, figuring out how to climb up and strike a cool pose for a photo.

Suddenly, a gust of wind came from behind.

"Huh?"

She was about to turn around when she was struck on the back of the head with a blunt object.

"Thump!"

Wan Yue's vision went black, and she collapsed limply to the ground.

The eldest brother dropped the wooden stick in his hand and rubbed his hands together.

"Hehe, the Hundred Birds Gang is in need of a mascot, and you're the one!"

After saying that, he nimbly hoisted the person onto his shoulder and hummed a little tune as he walked back.

The leader remained unfazed when they encountered several patrolling soldiers on the road.

"My sister is drunk."

The soldier glanced at the leader's colorful hood, then at the unconscious girl in a pink dress on his shoulder, and silently made way.

(These days, there are too many weirdos; we can't manage them all.)

The crescent moon had a dream.

In her dream, she sat in a luxurious carriage, surrounded by eight incomparably handsome male models.

Some peeled grapes for her, some fanned her, and others recited poetry with deep affection: "Crescent Moon Maiden, you are so beautiful..."

She was bubbling with happiness, thinking, "This is what life is all about!"

However, just as she was about to enjoy the massage service of the eighth male model.

"Splash!"

A bucket of cold water was splashed on her face.

Crescent Moon suddenly woke up and found that in front of her was not a luxurious carriage, but a large face covered by a seven-colored hood.

"Awake?" the eldest brother asked with a smile.

Crescent Moon froze for two seconds, then suddenly screamed.

"Aaaaaah! Where's my male model?!"

Boss: "???"

Crescent Moon looked around and found herself lying on a simple wooden bed, surrounded by a group of people.

A cold-faced swordsman in white, a lazy man with a pipe in his mouth, a gentle and refined musician, a kind doctor holding a bowl of medicine, a little girl holding a candied hawthorn, a bald chicken, and... the culprit behind the colorful headgear.

She swallowed hard and asked in a trembling voice.

"Who...are you?"

The leader grinned: "Welcome to the Hundred Birds Gang!"

The fried fish came over and offered a candied hawthorn.

"Sister, do you want some?"

Crescent Moon instinctively took it, and just as she took a bite, Gou Dan pounced on her.

"Idiot!"

Crescent Moon: "...!?"

Zui Qingfeng exhaled a smoke ring and said lazily.

"Boss, you're kidnapping people again?"

The eldest brother spoke with righteous indignation.

"We need a mascot!"

Chen Ze glanced at him coldly: "Strength?"

The eldest brother scratched his head: "Uh... I'm a bit weak."

Crescent Moon was furious: "Who's weak! I'm the cutest girl at Yanmen Pass!"

Shiyun chuckled: "Whether it's cute or not, I don't know, but it's definitely delicious."

Xi Jiang handed over a bowl of medicine: "Drink it, it will calm your nerves."

Crescent Moon warily asked, "You want to poison me?"

The fried fish blinked.

"Sister, this is for treating brain problems."

Crescent Moon: "..."

(Even angrier!)

So, Crescent Moon decided to run away.

In the dead of night, she tiptoed to the courtyard wall, preparing to climb over.

"Click".

She stepped on a tree branch and broke it.

"Who?" asked the night watchman, Drunk Breeze, lazily.

The crescent moon froze, then gave a dry laugh.

"I...I came out to look at the moon..."

Zui Qingfeng looked up at the overcast sky, then at her, and gave a meaningful "Oh".

Crescent Moon: "..."

(First attempt to escape failed.)

The next day, while everyone was having breakfast, she secretly slipped out the back door.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw Chen Ze standing there with his sword in his arms, coldly saying...

"go back."

Crescent Moon: "..."

(Second attempt to escape, failed.)

On the third day, she decided to outsmart him.

She found the fried fish and said pitifully.

"Little sister, how about I take you out to play?"

Fried Fish tilted his head: "But the boss said I can't go with you."

Crescent Moon: "..."

(Can't even fool a child?!)

Crescent Moon realized in despair that she really couldn't escape.

Although the people from the Hundred Birds Gang were strange, they treated her fairly well.

Shiyun would play the piano for her, Xijiang would cook her a beauty soup every day, fry fish and play hide-and-seek with her, and even Gou Dan would occasionally let her touch his bald head.

(Even though you might get pecked after touching it.)

The only problem is... the boss insists that she be the "Ambassador of the Hundred Birds Gang".

"From today onwards, you are the face of our gang!"

The eldest brother patted her on the shoulder, exuding heroic spirit.

Crescent Moon's lips twitched: "What's the sign... for?"

"It's about standing on the Rainbow Bridge, smiling at passersby, and saying, 'Welcome to the Hundred Birds Gang!'"

"...Isn't this just like a brothel soliciting customers?!"

Zui Qingfeng nodded, a cigarette dangling from his lips, "More or less."

Chen Ze glanced at it: "Just an illusion."

Crescent Moon: "..."

(He wanted to kill someone.)

One night, the crescent moon sat on the rooftop, lost in thought.

Zui Qingfeng climbed up and handed her a flask of wine: "Want some?"

Crescent Moon took it and said sullenly.

Why did you arrest me?

Zui Qingfeng exhaled a smoke ring: "The boss thinks you're suitable."

"What's suitable?"

"It suits this place."

Crescent Moon paused, took a sip of wine, and suddenly laughed: "You guys... are really strange."

A gentle breeze and a light laugh.

"Likewise."

The next day, Wan Yue took the initiative to wear the "Hundred Birds Gang Cute Girl" headdress specially made by the boss, stood by the Rainbow Bridge, and gave passersby a sweet smile.

Standing to the side was a figure wearing a "Emperor of a Hundred Birds" caption.

"Welcome to the Hundred Birds Gang!"

The eldest brother was so moved that tears welled up in his eyes.

"Great! Our gang finally has a proper storefront!"
