The love-hate relationship between the white peacock and the fish

Old Lin, Old Ba, and Old Qing slumped on the grass by the river, panting heavily from exhaustion.

A man in flowing white robes paced back and forth on the shore, his long, silvery hair swaying gently with his movements, shimmering in the sunlight.

"What's your name?"

Old Lin looked up and asked.

"Dust and Swamp".

He didn't turn his head and replied casually.

He bent down, picked up a branch, and gestured at the river surface, seemingly trying to spear a fish, but then frowned and tossed it away in disgust.

He then drew the long sword from his waist; the blade was gleaming white and its cold light was chilling.

Then... use the hilt of the sword to pick up the fish.

Old Lin and Old Ba exchanged a glance, their lips twitching.

With a flick of his wrist, he gently lifted the hilt of his sword, and a plump fish slammed onto the shore with a "thud".

Before long, a dozen or so fish had piled up on the shore, jumping and slapping their tails.

But one fish was particularly stubborn, struggling desperately to jump into the river, its scales shimmering golden in the sunlight.

Chen Ze stopped what he was doing and stared at it with great interest.

Just as the fish was about to jump back into the water...

"Smack!"

With a flick of the sword hilt, the fish flew back to the grass.

fish:"……"

Chen Ze's lips curled up almost imperceptibly as he brought it back to his lips.

After repeating this several times, the fish finally lost its patience and flashed out in a white light.

"You damn peacock! Don't you have anything better to do?!"

A girl in a pink dress stood angrily on the shore, her wet hair still dripping, her cheeks flushed red, and her finger almost poking Chen Ze's nose.

Chen Ze calmly sheathed his sword, his expression still cold and aloof, but a hint of pleasure flashed in his eyes.

"Have you had enough fun?"

He asked.

The girl gritted her teeth.

"I was just passing by!"

As the sun sets, the river surface glitters with a golden light.

Chen Ze lazily spread his hands.

"Just passing by? So what?"

Frying Fish was so angry that his cheeks swelled up and his fists clenched so tightly they cracked. Finally, he stomped his foot hard, turned around, and rushed into the river.

"Splash!"

A splash of water rose up.

Old Lin silently started a fire, and Chen Ze glanced at it, then gave a satisfied "hmm".

He kicked the remaining fish on the shore to make sure they wouldn't suddenly turn into people and start cursing, before slowly sitting down.

As night fell, the campfire crackled, and the aroma of grilled fish wafted in the night breeze.

Chen Ze slowly turned the fish in his hands, oil dripping down, and flames hissing as they shot up.

Lao Qing and Lao Ba wolfed down their food, while Lao Lin carefully blew on it, afraid of burning his mouth.

The firelight reflected on Chen Zeqing's cool profile. He squinted slightly, seemingly enjoying the tranquility of the moment.

However, tranquility is always fleeting.

Deep within the shadows of the trees, a pair of eyes burning with rage stared intently at him.

Pan-frying fish gritted his teeth, clutching a rough, spiked club in his hand.

(It was hastily made, and the splinters are jagged.)

"Dead peacock..."

She cursed under her breath, aimed, and charged...

"Whoosh—Bang!"

The spiked club struck Chen Ze precisely on the back of the head.

He froze, and the grilled fish in his hand fell into the fire with a "thud," sparks flying everywhere.

Then, it fell straight down.

Pan-fried Fish leaped down from the tree, clapped his hands, and smugly hummed.

"Let you play with fish!"

A night breeze swept by, and the campfire flickered.

Old Eight's snoring was still deafening.

Chen Ze, on the other hand, completely fainted from the aroma of the grilled fish.
