Chapter 54

Chapter 54

Mo Xiaoxin noticed that the figure in front of her was moving at varying speeds, as if it was controlling its pace to match her rhythm.

She gradually realized that something was not quite right.

Although the figure in front of her resembled Leng Huai, it wasn't something Leng Huai would do. She immediately stopped, wanting to see what the man was up to!

The man stopped when he realized that Mo Xiaoxin was not moving, and turned to look at her.

Mo Xiaoxin trembled; the person actually had a pair of huge red eyes!

His red eyes occupied half of his face, each eye as big as an egg! They glowed with a faint red light, their blood vessels clearly visible, as if carrying a sense of bloodshed and slaughter, staring unblinkingly in Mo Xiaoxin's direction.

Mo Xiaoxin felt a chill run down her spine from the stares, and goosebumps rose all over her body. She wanted to escape immediately, but her body wouldn't obey her commands. She just stood there, stunned, as if her soul had been ripped away.

"Hiss-"

The man let out a strange cry that sent chills down everyone's spine.

Immediately afterwards, Mo Xiaoxin lost consciousness.

Leng Huai suddenly woke up, feeling dizzy and his temples throbbing. Before he could recover, a piercing pain shot through his limbs, and he realized that his limbs were tightly tied to the wall by strange thin threads, and he could not move.

He leaned closer to take a look and realized it was spider silk!

These threads were so thin they were almost transparent, yet incredibly strong. Leng Huai pulled on them with all his might, but instead of breaking, they dug deep into his flesh. His skin was cut open, and bright red blood slowly seeped out, flowing down the spider silk and staining the ground with a small pool of blood.

Leng Huai frowned as he looked at the silk threads, which snaked and coiled around his limbs as if they were alive, becoming tighter the more he struggled.

After struggling to no avail, Leng Huai tried to burn the spider silk with fire. Just as he was about to use his spiritual power, he discovered that all his spiritual power had disappeared!

His heart sank. He tried again, but his body was completely empty; all his spiritual energy had vanished.

What happened?!

Leng Huai forced himself to calm down and began to observe his surroundings.

This was a spacious cave, dark and damp, filled with a putrid stench. Sticky black moss covered the cave walls, and water dripped continuously from the ceiling.

He recalled the scene before he lost consciousness: he was looking for trees when he noticed an exceptionally beautiful pear tree in full bloom standing not far away. He was drawn to the tree and walked over involuntarily, when suddenly he smelled a fragrance.

Immediately afterward, a figure flashed past him. Before he could even see the person's face clearly, he lost consciousness and woke up in this state.

That was really careless.

Who exactly is plotting against him from behind?

He has offended quite a few people, but very few are able to enter the Illusionary Spirit Abyss. He has thought about it over and over but still has no clue.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from deep within the cave, as if some large creature was slowly approaching.

As the sound drew closer, a huge black shadow gradually emerged—a gigantic humanoid spider!

Its eyes emitted a ghostly red light, especially terrifying in the darkness, as it approached Leng Huai step by step, causing the ground to tremble slightly with each step.

Leng Huai stared in horror at the giant red spider in front of him, which was more than ten times his size.

The Phantom Abyss is filled with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, and is covered with trees and herbs. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that there are even spiders with spiritual energy growing in the cave.

Red Spider looked at Leng Huai's arm dripping blood and let out a piercing laugh: "I never thought that after so many years, the Demon Lord's magic power would not only not improve but would actually regress. I am truly disappointed!"

Red Spider's words were sarcastic and tinged with mockery.

Leng Huai frowned, looking at Red Spider's eerie face: "Who are you? Do you know me?"

"How come you don't even recognize your old friends after all these years?"

Red Spider's voice was so sharp and piercing that it almost punctured Leng Huai's eardrums.

Leng Huai was searching for a needle in a haystack of memories.

When did he ever meet such a bizarre spider demon?

etc……

Could it be that...

"You are... Mu Xue?" Leng Huai asked, somewhat uncertain.

Red Spider trembled with excitement as he exclaimed, "That's right, you didn't expect it to be me, did you!"

"But you're not..."

His thoughts drifted back to his childhood, to the scene where he fought three people alone underwater.

After killing the River God Spider, Mu Tai fled frantically with Mu Xue, while Leng Huai chased after them desperately.

Mu Xue was seriously injured and kept vomiting blood. Mu Tai carried her and swam eastward.

There are powerful figures from the demon realm in the east. If he could offer them money, he might have a chance to survive.

He was already better at swimming than Leng Huai, and soon he left Leng Huai behind.

This is the border area between the realms of demons, monsters, and humans. When Leng Huai came ashore, he suddenly felt an unusual sense of familiarity. He felt that he was born to be here.

Demon Realm...

Perhaps he should belong here...

Mu Tai and Mu Xue had long since disappeared without a trace.

He will not show mercy to those who betray him.

No matter where they flee, he will find them.

Like a mouse hiding from a cat, Mu Tai found the Yinqi Pavilion in the Demon Realm and hired assassins at great expense to get rid of Leng Huai, a troublesome person. Afterwards, Mu Tai took Mu Xue to a clinic for treatment.

Yinqi Pavilion is the most ruthless assassin organization in the Demon Realm. It spends a lot of money, but it never fails.

Fortunately, over the years, Mu Tai and his gang have robbed many people on the water and obtained a lot of money; otherwise, they might not have been able to save him today.

Mu Xue remained unconscious, repeatedly muttering, "I was wrong, please let us go, I was wrong, I was wrong..."

Mu Tai looked at his sister's suffering with heartache, and felt resentment towards Leng Huai for his cruelty towards them.

It's also his fault; he chose the wrong target, picking Leng Huai, a hidden master, which harmed both his father and sister.

He absolutely had to save his sister; he had already lost his father, he couldn't afford to lose his sister too!

After Leng Huai dried his clothes by the fire, he went to the clinic to examine them one by one.

The clinic owner, seeing the man's fierce appearance and thinking he was just a little kid, didn't take him seriously and ordered his men to throw Leng Huai out.

But Leng Huai was no pushover. He stormed in, kicked open all the doors, and only stopped after checking that Mu Tai and Mu Xue were not there. He then threw a gold ingot on the table and stormed off.

The shopkeeper was on the verge of tears, wailing, "My God, where did this fierce demon come from?!"

Leng Huai then went to the next clinic.

The same operation was repeated again.

However, the shopkeeper of this shop is not as easily fooled as the previous one. This shopkeeper has cultivated magic from the demon realm, so how could he be so easily bullied by a child?

He immediately started fighting with Leng Huai. Leng Huai's power exploded, leaving the shopkeeper to hide under the table and cry for help.

Before long, the name Leng Huai spread throughout the streets and alleys, and everyone knew that a little kid with great magical powers had suddenly appeared.

However, this place is different from the human realm. Here, powerful and capable people from all over the three realms not only do not intend to drive Leng Huai away, but also admire him.

So when the assassin encountered Leng Huai, he was surrounded by a group of people who wanted him to join their ranks. They even told him that they could take him into the Demon Realm, the place where the strong should reside, and that they had connections to get in.

But Leng Huai was in no mood to think about these things; all he wanted to do was find Mu Xue and Mu Tai.

The assassin stood before him, but Leng Huai showed no fear and beat the assassin until he vomited blood.

The assassin was astonished that Leng Huai, at such a young age, was so powerful, and that he actually wanted to recruit Leng Huai under his command.

Leng Huai refused outright and rushed to the clinic where Mu Xue and Mu Tai were located, turning it upside down until he found the two of them.

Leng Huai finally saw panic on Mu Tai's face. This was the brother he once trusted the most, but he had been lying to him from beginning to end.

Mu Tai knelt down and begged Leng Huai to let them go.

Leng Huai looked at him coldly. He had already given them a chance, but they didn't cherish it. Now he would not forgive them.

"None of you can escape." Leng Huai's voice was filled with cruel killing intent.

Mu Tai knew he couldn't escape: "Please, let my sister go! She's innocent. I'm the one who started this! I lied to you!"

Leng Huai gave a mocking smile: "It's too late to beg me now!"

Leng Huai slammed Mu Tai against the wall with a single palm strike. Mu Tai stared wide-eyed, filled with resentment, as blood dripped from his body onto the floor.

Seemingly sensing that her loved one was in imminent danger, Mu Xue, lying in bed, suddenly opened her eyes. In the unfamiliar, chaotic place, she immediately saw Mu Tai hanging on the wall, barely alive. Ignoring her own weak body, she got out of bed.

The doctors were so frightened they had disappeared.

She struggled to get off the bed, but collapsed weakly to the ground after only a couple of steps.

She saw the culprit, Leng Huai.

As if seeing a demon, Mu Xue felt utterly desperate; she and her brother would probably perish here today.

"You killed my brother! You heartless demon!" This was not a question, but a statement! Mu Xue roared with heart-wrenching pain.

Leng Huai looked down at Mu Xue, his eyes devoid of any emotion. His tone was nonchalant: "Didn't you all want to steal my magic and dump my body at the bottom of the river back then? I was just doing what you wanted to do to me. What? Now that it's my turn to kill you, it's not allowed?"

Mu Xue struggled to crawl toward Mu Tai, crying out, "Brother! Brother! Wake up!"

Mu Tai's mind was a complete blur. In a daze, he heard Mu Xue's voice. He forced open his heavy eyelids and looked at Mu Xue, who was lying on the ground in a disheveled state. His voice was weak and feeble: "Run...run away quickly..."

Mu Xue shook her head, tears streaming down her face: "Brother, if we're going to die, we'll die together. I won't abandon you!"

Leng Huai scoffed: "What kind of time is this to still be putting on a show of brotherly and sisterly affection? Who are you two trying to fool? You truly are veteran actors, trying to evoke my sympathy and let you off the hook?"

He said coldly, word by word: "Dream on."

Mu Tai's eyes were filled with ferocity, a look he had never shown to outsiders. He transformed into his original form as a spider and used his antennae to break free from the wall. His wounds were still bleeding, but he endured the pain and crawled toward Leng Huai.

"I won't let you hurt my sister!" Mu Tai used all his strength to stab Leng Huai.

A mocking smile played on Leng Huai's lips as he looked at the spider demon struggling in its death throes: "Don't worry, none of you will escape."

Leng Huai easily slammed Mu Tai against the wall again, and Mu Tai struggled for a moment before finally dying.

The disparity in their magical powers is astonishing.

Leng Huai shifted his gaze to Mu Xue, his voice seemingly coming from the deepest hell: "It's your turn."

He stepped on Mu Xue, who had been crawling, and she stopped instantly.

Pulled back to reality from his memories, Leng Huai was filled with doubt: "You're not dead! How is that possible!"

He watched Mu Xue breathe her last.

Mu Xue had already transformed back into human form at some point.

A woman dressed in a long, flowing blood-red robe appeared. Her hair was fiery red, and her skin was as white as jade, radiating a cold beauty. Her eyes were long and sharp, with blood-red pupils that held a chilling intensity.

She is a cold, icy beauty with thorns all over her body.

Upon hearing Leng Huai's words, Mu Xue burst into laughter: "You probably can't believe it, can you? We spider demons can abandon our cultivation and human form to start cultivating again. What you killed me with was only my human form; I had already transformed into a little spider, crawled out of my sleeve, and escaped through the door long ago!"

Leng Huai frowned: "You've mastered such profound magical power in such a short time, and even came to the Illusionary Spirit Abyss to cultivate?"

Mu Xue: "That's right! Didn't expect that, did you? Although my talent is not as good as yours, I'm lucky! I met a person with high magical power and a kind heart. She brought me to the Illusionary Spirit Abyss. I gathered the spiritual energy of heaven and earth here to cultivate, which greatly reduced my cultivation time. Otherwise, how could I have trapped you here today?"

"Who brought you here?"

Mu Xue: "How could I possibly tell you about my benefactor?"

Leng Huai glanced at the silk thread on his left. The silk thread had washed away all his blood and turned into red silk thread. The silk thread was still not enough and was still absorbing all the spiritual energy on Leng Huai's body.

Leng Huai's voice was weak: "I should have known... You've absorbed all my magic power, haven't you?"

Mu Xue: "Smart! I've wanted to do this for a long time, but I just postponed it!"

Back in the river, they planned to completely drain Leng Huai's magic power, but Leng Huai turned the tables on them.

Now that he's fallen into her cave, there's absolutely no way she'd let him die so easily.

She would slowly torture him, she would make him beg her, and finally die painfully in her hands.

Leng Huai remained silent.

Mu Xue said, "Do you think I would let you die so easily? You're thinking too simply. I'm going to make you experience the same pain I went through!"

Leng Huai looked up at Mu Xue: "What do you want to do?"
