Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Leng Huai glanced at her indifferently: "You can't go out."

"Why?" Doesn't he hate her? Why is he forcing her to stay here?

"Newlyweds already sleeping in separate rooms?" Leng Huai's expression was somewhat strange, and he held back his words.

Mo Xiaoxin looked at him suspiciously.

That's true. It wouldn't sound good if a newlywed couple slept in separate rooms on their very first day of marriage.

Furthermore, the gossip skills of the servants in the Demon Realm should not be underestimated; Mu Xiaoxiao was already quite shocked by it.

Mo Xiaoxin was defeated, but fortunately, Leng Huai didn't seem to intend to kill her.

She sat in the chair furthest from Leng Huai, and the two remained silent.

She glanced at the table full of food, her stomach rumbling. She swallowed hard; she couldn't eat the food, and she couldn't drink the wine either. She'd just have some tea instead.

She walked to the other table, picked up the teapot, and smelled it. She wasn't sure if it was poisoned.

"It's not poisonous, leave me some." Leng Huai's voice came from behind.

Pshaw, she doesn't need his prompting.

In a fit of pique, she brought the teapot to her lips and gulped down the tea.

A warm feeling spread through my stomach, and the dizziness from the alcohol was instantly soothed by the warm tea.

Her stomach was full from drinking, so she turned the teapot over and found it empty, not a drop left for Leng Huai.

She smiled retaliatoryly, deliberately holding up the teapot for Leng Huai to see in a show of defiance, but feigning surprise on the surface: "Oh dear, I'm sorry, I've finished it all."

Leng Huai narrowed his eyes, revealing a dangerous expression.

Oh no, is he going to kill her again?

I acted on impulse and did what I really wanted to do, only to regret it later.

This is Mo Xiaoxin's protective mechanism against being wronged all along. Being constantly stifled like this will traumatize her soul. Rather than letting herself go crazy, she'd rather let others go crazy.

Fortunately, Leng Huai did not fall ill this time.

Leng Huai walked barefoot across the cold blue bricks, his black outer robe casually draped over his shoulders, and sat expressionlessly on the chair under Mo Xiaoxin's wary gaze.

A small rosewood table rests on the armrest of the chair, with a marble chessboard in the center, its black and white pieces scattered about.

"Come and play chess with me." Leng Huai's tone was commanding, as if she were not his newlywed wife, but his subordinate.

Mo Xiaoxin cursed Leng Huai a thousand times in her heart. She would never like such a cold, ruthless, and arrogant man, even if every man in the world died.

She scoffed lightly, pursed her lips, and still walked towards Leng Huai.

Let's play chess, who's afraid of who?

She looked at Leng Huai's chessboard, a little confused, and cautiously asked, "Gomoku?"

"What is Gomoku? It's Go."

Mo Xiaoxin chuckled awkwardly; she didn't know how to play Go.

"You don't know how?" Leng Huai asked, frowning.

Leng Huai's tone suggested that he was surprised she didn't know how to play Go.

Should princesses be able to play Go?

There's no history that says princesses have to know how to play Go.

Suppressing her anger, Mo Xiaoxin smiled obsequiously and said, "No, Go is too difficult. How about I teach you a game?"

Mo Xiaoxin took out the item reward she won from the lucky wheel: a board game.

I didn't expect it to come in handy so quickly; it's quite practical.

Looking at the pile of chess pieces in Mo Xiaoxin's hand, Leng Huai asked in confusion, "What is Flying Chess? And what are these colorful things?"

Mo Xiaoxin used to love playing Ludo, and the Ludo game that the system prepared for her was exactly what she was good at.

Seeing Leng Huai's interest, he began to explain the rules of Ludo: "Ludo can be played by 2, 3, or 4 people. Each player has 4 pieces of a different color. Then each person rolls the dice. If they roll a 5 or a 6, they can place their piece on the starting line. But if they roll a 6, they can not only place their piece on the starting line, but also have another chance to roll the dice and move their piece. The first person to move all their pieces to the next square wins."

Leng Huai was eager to try: "That simple?"

Mo Xiaoxin: "This isn't a simple matter; it depends on luck!"

"My luck has never been bad." Leng Huai's eyes left no room for doubt.

Mo Xiaoxin pursed her lips, not wanting to expose Leng Huai's inexplicably confident statement.

Mo Xiaoxin raised an eyebrow and shook the Flying Chess game in her hand: "So, do you dare to take the challenge?"

Leng Huai: "What's there to be afraid of?"

Suddenly remembering something, Mo Xiaoxin said, "By the way, you can't cheat with magic, okay?"

Leng Huai scoffed, "Who am I? I wouldn't stoop to cheating."

"I mean what I say." Mo Xiaoxin didn't waste any more words and placed the dice in the middle.

"Let's agree on the rewards and punishments first," Mo Xiaoxin asked.

"award?"

"A Demon Lord like you wouldn't be without a reward, would you?" Mo Xiaoxin raised her voice, staring at Leng Huai with a provocative look in her eyes. It would be too stingy of her not to offer a reward.

Leng Huai was indeed fooled.

"Of course there are."

Mo Xiaoxin smiled and suggested, "How about we bet a hundred taels of silver?"

Mo Xiaoxin is now penniless. When the original owner came from the demon realm to the demon realm, she encountered a thief and was robbed of everything.

Leng Huai suddenly asked, "Do you have that much money?"

Mo Xiaoxin choked, her eyes darting around: "You can pay me back first, besides, I might not necessarily lose."

Without hesitation, Leng Huai replied, "Okay."

Leng Huai agreed, and Mo Xiaoxin's eyes held a triumphant smile.

If she's about to lose, then she'll find an opportunity to have Leng Huai kill her, which will return her to the point before her death, creating an endless loop. She refuses to believe she can't beat him.

"To be fair, let's play rock-paper-scissors and see who goes first," Mo Xiaoxin said.

Leng Huai asked in confusion, "What is this thing?"

"You don't even know this? It's just gestures."

Mo Xiaoxin patiently explained, and Leng Huai understood.

Although he had never heard of Mo Xiaoxin's game, for some reason he wanted to try it out today.

Mo Xiaoxin didn't expect that Leng Huai, who seemed unapproachable, would be so serious when playing games and would understand them so quickly. She only had to explain the rules once for him to understand them.

The two quickly made their movements.

Leng Huai won.

Mo Xiaoxin gave the dice to Leng Huai.

Leng Huai picked up the small square object and played with it curiously for a while before tossing it onto the table.

"6 o'clock." Leng Huai's lips curled up slightly.

Mo Xiaoxin was stunned. She had never seen a man so beautiful yet dangerous.

Leng Huai threw again, moving three spaces.

When it was Mo Xiaoxin's turn, she said, "1 o'clock."

Leng Huai tossed it aside, and it was 6 o'clock again.

He placed his second piece at the starting point and moved it five squares.

Immediately afterwards, Mo Xiaoxin had another 4 o'clock and then another 2 o'clock.

Mo Xiaoxin was almost in tears. Today felt like she had the worst luck; she hadn't managed to get a 6 at all. Her four Ludo pieces remained untouched on the squares, and she was very anxious.

Leng Huai's consecutive 6 points during the newbie protection period made Mo Xiaoxin envious.

Seeing that Leng Huai's first piece was almost halfway through its move, Mo Xiaoxin's face flushed red and then paled in turns. She tried to salvage her lost dignity: "I've given you my luck, how about that? I'm generous, right? Now I'm going to unleash my power!"

Mo Xiaoxin muttered to herself, blowing on the dice in her hand and silently praying, "It has to be a 6, it has to be a 6, or even a 5 if all else fails."

Fortunately, this time she finally managed to get a 6.

The weight has been lifted from my heart.

Leng Huai already had all his pieces on the board, but Mo Xiaoxin's first piece had only just begun to move.

This is absolutely a disastrous start!

She comforted herself, "It's okay, the best is yet to come."

When it was Mo Xiaoxin's turn to move a few spaces, she suddenly placed her piece on the opposite side of the chessboard.

Leng Huai frowned: "Isn't it supposed to be that you move that many squares based on the number you throw? What's wrong with you?"

She glanced at the time; ten minutes had already passed. She had deliberately kept the rules of the game a secret in order to provoke Leng Huai and make him kill her in a fit of rage.

Mo Xiaoxin pretended to forget: "Sorry, I didn't explain all the rules just now. When you encounter a dotted line, you get two chances to jump over it."

Unexpectedly, Leng Huai simply nodded: "So that's how it can be done."

Mo Xiaoxin was puzzled. What was going on? Why was he so calm?

Leng Huai parted his thin lips slightly, appearing generous: "Since I'm having good luck tonight, I'll let you off the hook."

Mo Xiaoxin thought to herself, "Oh no, you weren't this easy to talk to before. How could your temperament change so suddenly? It's really catching me off guard."

But the next second, Leng Huai's violent temper returned to normal.

"Explain all the other rules at once, otherwise..."

Oh no, he's found out about her little scheme.

Mo Xiaoxin remained calm and lied casually: "To be honest, I haven't played in a long time. I'll tell you when I remember."

"Really? I don't have that much patience." Leng Huai's expression was no longer as pleasant as before.

Is this a threat to her?

That's exactly the effect she wanted.

A faint smile appeared on Mo Xiaoxin's lips, a subtle expression that Leng Huai noticed. He narrowed his eyes and scrutinized the woman in front of him.

What on earth is this woman up to?

Was she deliberately trying to make him angry?

Mo Xiaoxin noticed Leng Huai's displeasure and muttered to herself, "Why hasn't he killed her yet?"

Each with their own thoughts, they continued playing the game.

Mo Xiaoxin: "You can jump to the next square of the same color as your piece. For example, if your piece is blue, you can jump to the next blue square after you move to the blue square."

Leng Huai: "..."

Mo Xiaoxin: "When you finally reach the finish line, you have to roll the dice exactly at the finish line to succeed. For example, if there are 5 squares left to reach the finish line, then you have to roll a 5 on the dice."

Leng Huai: "..."

Mo Xiaoxin: "Oh dear, you're blocking my way. I knocked your piece back. Sorry, you'll have to take off again."

Leng Huai: "..."

After playing for a round, Mo Xiaoxin actually won.

"I won, pay me back!" Mo Xiaoxin said happily.

Leng Huai: "The first game doesn't count."

Mo Xiaoxin asked in confusion, "Why doesn't it count? Are you cheating?"

Leng Huai remained unusually calm: "Don't think I didn't see through you. You deliberately didn't tell me the rules to stall for time, which is how you barely managed to beat me."

Mo Xiaoxin felt wronged when her thoughts were exposed. Wasn't she just trying to complete the task? This jerk was surprisingly good-tempered while playing games. If it were her, she would have lost her temper long ago if the other party hadn't explained the rules clearly.

Slightly embarrassed by being exposed, she cleared her throat and said, "Okay, consider that last game your tutorial. Next game will be the real deal."

Mo Xiaoxin: "To improve the gaming experience, I added a feature."

She pointed to the red and blue squares on the chessboard: "If we land on a square of the opponent's color, the opponent can ask us to play Truth or Dare."

Leng Huai: "Truth or Dare..."

A smile appeared on his lips, which looked particularly alluring in the moonlight: "Interesting."

Mo Xiaoxin revealed a sly smile. Now he had a chance to kill her!
