Chapter 6, Chapter 6: Sui Yupeng's Wedding

Chapter 6, Chapter 6: Sui Yupeng's Wedding

A group of professors and mentors are sitting upright below the lecture hall podium.

They were surprised to find Jiang Miaomiao dragging a male student in, and they began to whisper among themselves.

Jiang Miaomiao dragged someone onto the stage and bowed gracefully: "Hello, teachers. My name is Jiang Miaomiao. This was supposed to be my defense time, but someone conspired to ruin my appearance, steal my graduation project computer, and try to prevent me from graduating. I would like to ask if anyone here can recognize him?"

The audience below the podium consisted of senior professors from various colleges, whose combined influence encompassed almost the entire university.

Someone immediately recognized him as a freshman in the history department.

Jiang Miaomiao couldn't help but grind her teeth: Hao Luwei's classmate.

After thanking them, she handed the person over to the tutor assisting her, and warned in a low voice: "Now we all recognize who you are. If you dare to run away during my defense, it will prove that you teamed up to ruin my graduation thesis defense! If you want to see if you will be expelled for this, then go ahead and run. No one who offends me will have a good ending! Including Lu Wei, the junior sister you just defended!"

Perhaps it was Jiang Miaomiao's overwhelming aura that intimidated the ignorant freshman.

A professor asked in confusion, "But your computer for your graduation project was stolen. How are you going to present your work for your defense?"

"Please rest assured, I always have a good habit of backing up my data to the cloud," Jiang Miaomiao said with a smile.

The professors in the audience smiled knowingly, especially the Chinese professor who was supervising Jiang Miaomiao. He was relieved but also glared at her, blaming her for making him worry.

Jiang Miaomiao bowed to him again to apologize, and then directly borrowed the old computer next to her that was used for screen mirroring and timing.

"My main research focuses on the application of geolocation. I use specific positioning technologies to obtain the latitude and longitude information of mobile devices or terminal users, and then use the time dimension to plot the user's movement trajectory, analyze user behavior, and form a user profile."

In other words, our school's computer lab contains data from all our faculty, students, and all our equipment. Therefore, I submitted an application to the school and it has been approved.

Jiang Miaomiao paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Computer!"

The freshmen next to them, who were covered in dust and dirt, were quite surprised.

“Professors, showing PPTs and having you ask me questions and then answer them seems a bit boring. How about I demonstrate for you how to use your graduation project to recover your computer and prove that these two people are the thieves?” Jiang Miaomiao’s face showed a faint smile, and her confident and determined young appearance was quite admired by the professors.

They all nodded.

Jiang Miaomiao was a student on whom they had high hopes. Given the unexpected turn of events, it was understandable to handle her specially without compromising the equal rights of other graduates.

Jiang Miaomiao then opened the code execution page that she had previously deployed to the remote server.

The page unfolded into a two-dimensional map of the entire HF school. When she entered her computer's serial number, a red dot instantly appeared on the map.

She suddenly turned her head and instructed the young tutor in charge of reception at the door, "Why don't you help me notify the security department to check over there?"

The young mentor nodded and quickly dialed the number.

"Ma, Cheng, An".

Upon seeing the spilled coffee, Ma Chengan's face turned ashen.

Jiang Miaomiao entered the device information bound to his name into her work page, timed it from dawn this morning until now, drew a movement trajectory of about three hours, and then filtered out people whose movement trajectory was near the teaching building within half an hour.

With a room full of professors and mentors, it was only natural to see oneself on the final list of one hundred selected individuals.

Hmm... they nodded to themselves; the data seemed quite accurate.

Jiang Miaomiao then compared the four-hour movement trajectories of these hundred people with Ma Chengan's trajectory. There was a second-year student named Si Hongchang who was not Ma Chengan's roommate, but his movement trajectory overlapped by as much as 35%. Moreover, they spent seven minutes together in the same time period, in the same place, and within a distance of no more than five meters.

During those seven minutes, there were no traces of other people around.

In other words, "Did you plot to steal my computer during those seven minutes?"

Ma Cheng'an retorted fearfully, "I didn't! You, you're talking nonsense... Trying to slander me by just drawing some random trajectory diagrams is completely unscientific!"

The professors also looked at Jiang Miaomiao with great interest, curious about how she would handle the situation.

Jiang Miaomiao said expressionlessly, "Isn't fingerprint comparison scientific? Once my computer is found, I'll just hand it over to the police and ask them to record the fingerprints on the computer and compare them with Si Hongchang's! The Apple computer you stole is worth over a thousand dollars, which is a huge theft. This isn't a small matter of whether you'll be punished for violating school rules, but a serious matter of you breaking the law and going to jail!"

Of course, Jiang Miaomiao was also observing the expressions of the people below the stage. She found that they were not unhappy at all, and were even quite happy. Her tense nerves relaxed a little.

After all, it was a graduation defense that took an unconventional approach!

She added other applications and finished right on time.

When she finished her defense and dragged Ma Chengan out of the classroom, the professor who had left earlier was already waiting outside with his computer and security personnel, holding another student.

The young mentor's words carried a hint of smugness: "Not bad, we even caught them red-handed."

Jiang Miaomiao nodded confidently and said, "Then we can skip the fingerprint comparison step and call the police to arrest them."

Ma Chengan and Si Hongchang finally realized the gravity of the situation, fearing it would jeopardize their studies and lead to criminal charges. They both pleaded with Jiang Miaomiao to be lenient. However, whether their excessive groveling prevented them from implicating Hao Luwei, or Hao Luwei's skillful and discreet manipulation prevented any connection between the two, the matter remained unrelated to Hao Luwei.

Since she had nothing to do with that damned Hao Luwei, Jiang Miaomiao had no interest in letting those two idiots go.

She asked the school to handle the matter officially, then picked up her laptop and left leisurely.

Why did Hao Luwei have to cause this trouble before her thesis defense? Wasn't she just trying to prevent her from graduating normally?

She felt that Jiang Miaomiao cared a lot about her grades.

In fact, Jiang Miaomiao really cares about her grades.

This won't happen more than three times; not every pregnant woman deserves Jiang Miaomiao's care!

***

The next day, a post titled "We're getting married" was pinned to the top of the campus forum. The post announced that Sui Yupeng and Hao Luwei had officially announced their marriage before Hao Luwei's pregnancy became visible.

After all, news of Sui Yupeng's recent disappearance, which caused Hao Luwei to become pregnant and cry in fear, had spread throughout the campus. Feeling guilty towards her, he consulted with his family and spared no expense in renting a luxury hotel near the school to create a dreamlike wedding ceremony to make amends.

No invitations are needed; any senior student from HF School can attend this engagement party.

Hao Luwei originally wanted to drop out of school, get married, and have children, but Sui Yupeng disagreed. He hoped that she could follow her original path, study at HF, and get her diploma. He urged her not to change her plans because of the child, lest she regret it in the future.

So he stepped in and helped Hao Luwei get a year off from school.

...

Compared to the Hao family, the Sui family was wealthier and of a higher social standing.

When Sui Yupeng and Jiang Miaomiao got together, Sui's parents' first thought was to look down on her for even having a name like "Miaomiao" that sounded uncultured. Their second thought was that she had been raised by her grandparents since childhood, had a complicated family background, and came from a wealthy merchant family.

So when Sui Yupeng wanted to take responsibility for Hao Luwei's pregnancy, they did some research and found that the girl was well-educated, gentle and virtuous. Although her family background was not good, she was still a pretty girl from a modest family, which was better than Jiang Miaomiao, who was rumored to have been gang-raped.

Fearing that Sui Yupeng might regret it, the elders of the Sui family immediately agreed and urged him to hold a grand wedding ceremony.

Since the entire school was warmly invited to this marriage, Jiang Miaomiao murmured, "Then I'm not considered an uninvited guest?"

On the wedding day, Hao Luwei, who was always up to something, had a premonition that Jiang Miaomiao would cause trouble, so she asked some of her close friends to be her bridesmaids in advance, and stood at the door to greet the guests in order to intercept Jiang Miaomiao.

This is the wedding of her dreams, and she will not allow anyone to ruin it!

The devil is always one step ahead of the saint.

Having prepared lavish gifts, Jiang Miaomiao deliberately dragged along several highly respected professors to the ceremony. Even if the bridesmaids wanted to be arrogant, they wouldn't dare to act recklessly in front of the professors who were deciding the fate of their graduates.

They could only glare at Jiang Miaomiao through gritted teeth.

Jiang Miaomiao put two fingers to her lips and blew a kiss, making them stomp their feet in anger but there was nothing they could do.

It has to be said that during school years, good grades were the most powerful advantage. Once you caught the teacher's eye, you had the right to be proud.

Hao Luwei was both angry and anxious when she learned that Jiang Miaomiao had appeared openly.

The makeup artist who was applying makeup to her quickly reminded her to relax, otherwise how could she apply powder if her skin was tense?

Hao Luwei could only endure it, but after thinking for a moment, she suddenly asked someone to invite the groom over, and then pretended to be worried and said, "Senior Yupeng, I heard that Senior Miaomiao is here... I took you away from Senior Miaomiao, and I have never had the courage to apologize to her."

Her tone shifted abruptly, her eyes red and swollen like a pitiful bunny: "I... I really want to go out and find her, but I don't dare. Senior, I know you really like Senior Sister. If it weren't for my pregnancy delaying you, she should be the one sitting here as a bride today... I feel so guilty. Every time I see Senior Sister Miaomiao, I can't help but feel sad... I can't stop crying... I really don't know how to face her... Every time I see her, I feel so sorry..."

Sui Yupeng is ultimately just a simple-minded and soft-hearted person.

He bent down and gently embraced Hao Luwei, soothing her softly, "This is our wedding day, we should be happy. I did date her, and we still have feelings for each other, but since I've decided to take responsibility for you, I naturally have to let her go. Miaomiao is smart and also fickle; I believe she'll let go too. You're the one who's going to marry me, and I believe we'll have time to nurture our relationship in the future. So don't be sad anymore. If you don't want to face Miaomiao, I'll let her go first..."

"...Senior, I didn't mean for you to drive the senior away," Hao Luwei explained in a panic.

Sui Yupeng replied, "I know, I just want you to be a happy bride today."

Hao Luwei paused, pursing her lips. Her gaze towards Sui Yupeng was filled with tenderness and a well-hidden hint of satisfaction.

This man, just over twenty years old, was somewhere between youthful innocence and maturity. He was refined, elegant, and from a noble family. He truly deserved to be the promising prospect she had her eye on, a prize she would acquire by any means necessary!

After Sui Yupeng left, the makeup artist was nervously watching Hao Luwei, whose eyes were brimming with tears, fearing that the bride's makeup would be ruined by the tears. Unexpectedly, Hao Luwei suddenly sniffed, as if she had absorbed the tears away.

Hao Luwei regained her initial excited and joyful expression and urged, "Hurry up and touch up my makeup, my skin isn't white enough."

Makeup artist: "..."

The makeup artist belatedly realized: "!!!"

Could this be a real-life version of the white camellia?!

A note from the author:

This is definitely worth saving! Thank you everyone!
