Chapter 8 The Tearing Up

Chapter 8 The Tearing Up

They were all impeccably dressed and handsome men, but their faces were marred by anger.

They all glared angrily at Hao Luwei, one after another roaring and raging, disregarding their image.

"Hao Luwei, if I hadn't pulled some strings for you, would you have been able to go abroad and pretend to be a rich and beautiful woman?"

I admit I have a wife and wasn't faithful enough. I couldn't resist your repeated seductions and became entangled with you in an ambiguous relationship. But I can honestly say I treated you with all my heart. Even though my wife found out later, I admitted my mistake and left with nothing. Knowing I couldn't give you a good life right now, I gave you all the little I had left.

Before we broke up, I even used my connections to get you into a prestigious university, hoping to boost your future. If someone hadn't told me, I still wouldn't know that you were feigning innocence and vulnerability in front of me to gain my love and sympathy, while secretly provoking my wife, verbally abusing her with all sorts of nasty things, to the point that she desperately aborted our child and wanted a divorce! You're a fucking viper! A two-faced snake!

"You got cheated on in your marriage and got played, you deserve it! But what did I do wrong to meet someone like her?" Xie Liang continued, both angry and pitiful, "I'm just a pure, innocent young man. I'm charming but not lewd! I thought she was naive and pure. I got drunk and touched her, and regardless of whether it was her first time or not, I wanted to marry her. I worked harder than I did to prepare for the TOEFL. I gave her all my savings. Even if I needed money to start a business later and she spent it all, I didn't care. But she actually made me disappear..."

She told me that her family disliked me for not having a prestigious university education, and that she had to break up with me out of respect for her parents, and that she had to go home to arrange a blind date and get married – what a load of nonsense!

I was so foolish back then that I thought I wasn't good enough for her and that's why I let go, blaming everything on myself.

Xie Liang pointed angrily at the young man at another table, his eyes blazing with fury: "You actually stole my boyfriend!"

Lu Xiao, who was being angrily pointed at, was indignant. "I'm a victim too! She told me that you heartlessly abandoned her, and she cried and begged in front of me every day. Under such circumstances, wasn't it only natural for me to take her on out of pity and take advantage of the right time, place, and circumstances? But not long after, she said she still loved you and dumped me, which made me so angry that I cut off all ties with you!"

Xie Liang suddenly realized, "Oh, so that's why you broke off our friendship? Then I forgive you."

Sui Yupeng, who was suddenly called out, was dumbfounded. He was completely stunned.

Although these people were talking at once and their words were incoherent, the underlying meaning of their statements was quite clear.

He suddenly turned his head to look at Hao Luwei.

He wasn't stupid; he just never wanted to use malicious thoughts to speculate about a girl.

Hao Luwei looked at all the men she had dated in the past gathered here waiting for her, and it was hard not to know that someone had organized this gathering!

She reacted quickly, immediately bursting into tears: "Jiang Miaomiao! I never expected you to frame me like this! You were the one who initiated the breakup with Yupeng, you were the one who didn't want him! Since you don't want him, why can't you give him to me?"

“Yupeng, I really like you. I’ve never liked anyone so much before, but now that you’ve broken up with Jiang Miaomiao, why can’t I stand openly with you? I’m pregnant with your child, and I sincerely want to build a family with you, but if I have to be falsely accused by Jiang Miaomiao just because I love you, I’m scared, I won’t marry her. Rumors spread like wildfire, and I really don’t have the courage to bear this inexplicable slander.”

In just a few words, Hao Luwei managed to shift most of the blame onto Jiang Miaomiao.

The situation has turned around!

Her tears were so pitiful, it was heartbreaking.

Her sobs grew increasingly heart-wrenching and deeply distressing.

She cried... then looked around, her gaze fixed on the three-tiered wedding cake and knife beside the stage.

Sui Yupeng and the stage emcee were closest to her, so it was hard for them not to pay attention to her every word and action. When they saw her lift her heavy skirt, rush over, grab a knife, and try to stab herself in the abdomen, they immediately scrambled to snatch the knife away.

Sui Yupeng exclaimed in surprise, "What are you going to do? Put the knife down first! You're pregnant, this is very dangerous!"

Hao Luwei cried, "Yupeng, please leave me alone. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have gotten involved with you, I shouldn't have gotten pregnant and made you take responsibility. But I really can't take it anymore. I've never been insulted like this before. I have no way to defend myself, so I can only prove my innocence with my death!"

Sui Yupeng quickly reassured her, "Don't do anything rash! I'll handle this, trust me! I'm your husband!"

Upon hearing this, Hao Luwei, her face filled with despair, finally let go, allowing Sui Yupeng and the emcee to seize the knife.

She couldn't help but hug Sui Yupeng and cry, her face contorted with anger as she buried herself in his arms.

Sui Yupeng hugged her back and gently patted her shoulder.

Then, he let go and turned to look at the men who had stood up to collect the debt: "Gentlemen, I don't know you, but I assume you are men of some standing. I don't care whether what you're saying is true or false, but isn't it a bit too disgraceful to collectively insult a woman, especially a pregnant woman, in this kind of setting?"

Hao Luwei's family members and Sui's parents and other Sui family members were originally seated separately at three tables.

Whispers filled the room as people discussed the matter and secretly observed each other's expressions. However, emboldened by Sui Yupeng's words, Hao Luwei's family stood up and angrily retorted, "You people are clearly working together to frame our Luwei. She's young and easily embarrassed; are you trying to drive her to her death? And who is that Jiang Miaomiao? I heard she's the groom's ex-girlfriend. Is she trying to ruin the wedding out of love turned to hate?"

“Yes! Yes! That’s right, why can’t young ladies stand to see others doing well?” The rest of the Hao family immediately chimed in.

As the head of the Sui family, Mr. Sui always prided himself on his high moral character, and he lost face when his son's marriage was made such a spectacle.

He naturally stood up as well, looked around, and stared at the young men who seemed to have ill intentions, saying, "Gentlemen, if you're here to drink this wedding toast, then we naturally welcome you. But if you're here to cause trouble, I don't care what grudges you have in the past, whether they're true or false. To cause trouble in this kind of setting is truly reckless and an insult to the entire Sui family! Things will change in the future, and we'll have a chance to meet again someday."

The people who were targeted by Hao Luwei in the past must have been wealthy, well-off, and of good character. The reason they are gathered here to cause trouble is simply because Jiang Miaomiao has revealed the truth about how they were deceived in the past, which has shocked them and made them feel extremely wronged. They are now angrily seeking justice.

But ultimately, he was still too young.

They could be fooled by Hao Luwei, who was their age, before, but now they can still be intimidated and weakened by the shouts of Sui's father, who is a generation older.

Hao Luwei, who was pretending to cry, was secretly delighted: their momentum had weakened, and she was confident that she could make them look guilty later.

Are you threatening me?

Despite the pressure from Sui's father, some people still dared to speak at the scene.

The sound, transmitted through the microphone, traveled in all directions. Its lingering resonance echoed for a long time.

Enraged by the offense, Sui's father shouted, "Who's speaking? Stand up!"

One hand was suddenly raised high.

She stood out in a scene where most people were seated, especially since Xie Liang, a troublemaker, was standing next to her.

Sui's father immediately glared angrily and left.

Someone at the scene also aimed their camera in that direction, and the screen projected Jiang Miaomiao sitting upright with a microphone in her hand.

Sui Yupeng was taken aback.

Hao Luwei couldn't wait any longer and said, "Jiang Miaomiao, it really is you! You're trying to sabotage my wedding?!"

Mr. Sui immediately fixed his gaze on her with hostility: "Miss Jiang, this is not a place for you young people to flirt and fight over love. The guests here are all prominent figures, including your professors and mentors! I hope you can stop here."

Jiang Miaomiao, who was called out, remained seated and refused to get up: "I've always wanted to know when to stop, but you're the ones who've gone too far. I have no reason to keep backing down, do I?"

Sui's father frowned and asked, "What exactly do you want to do?"

Hao Luwei interrupted again, seemingly bravely taking all the blame, "Senior Miaomiao, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have been so delusional. I beg you, please don't embarrass me too much. My family and teachers are all sitting here. I'll go somewhere else with you, you can do whatever you want. I beg you, I'm pregnant, I still want some reputation, I'm about to become a mother, and I only now realize that what I did before was inappropriate. I apologize to you, please be merciful and let me off the hook for now, okay?"

Tsk tsk.

Those who heard this felt that it came from the bottom of their hearts and that they were truly repenting.

But how could Jiang Miaomiao tell that she was crying and complaining about being forced to submit and having no choice but to compromise?

What is this called?

The art of language?!

This is where Hao Luwei's brilliance lies: she plays the victim while simultaneously employing various forms of psychological manipulation, a multi-pronged approach that is quite effective.

The way everyone looked at Jiang Miaomiao immediately became less friendly.

"Miaomiao!" Sui Yupeng couldn't help but call out to her, gently shaking his head and begging her to stop talking.

He felt that the situation couldn't be allowed to deteriorate any further, and everything should end here. He didn't want either Hao Luwei or Jiang Miaomiao to suffer any further losses or harm.

Hao Luwei, who was standing to the side, noticed that he was showing mercy and suddenly stood in front of him, breaking his eye contact with Jiang Miaomiao.

"Senior Miaomiao, I beg you!" Hao Luwei held onto her flat stomach and knelt down with difficulty.

This action made it clear to even those unaware that she was pregnant. And the elderly, the infirm, women, and children, especially pregnant women, are always the overwhelming recipients of sympathy and care.
