Chapter 24: The Bard Priscilla (Page 1/2)
The horse rider and the pack of wild dogs kept approaching and were about to rush into their territory.
Considering the safety of the two children and Wendy, Frank frowned and was about to rush out to teach the horse rider and the pack of wild dogs a lesson.
But what surprised him was that the horse rider turned around and left.
Perhaps after he approached the campfire, he found that there were not many people around the campfire and could not help him resist the danger of the wild dogs.
Or maybe he also realized that this behavior could easily bring danger to others.
This person led the wild dogs to another direction when he was about a few dozen meters away from the campfire.
Those wild dogs didn't seem to want to get close to the fire, and immediately followed the horses reluctantly.
His actions also changed Frank's opinion of him and gave him an excuse to help.
Of course, this was not because Frank was hungry and wanted to eat some dog meat.
He rushed out from behind the stone with an iron sword in his hand, and then shot an arrow at the most densely populated area of the wild dogs with the crossbow in his hand.
He shouted to the dogs in a deep voice:
"Hey! Guy on horseback, come over here, I can help you!"
The crossbow arrows were very fast. When Frank's voice reached the wild dogs, a running wild dog was immediately shot through the body by a crossbow arrow. It let out a sharp dog cry and fell to the ground, disrupting the formation of the dogs.
Such a movement quickly alarmed the wild dogs that were chasing the horses.
Seeing this, a big black dog with a particularly strong physique at the head immediately let out a loud bark. Together with its tribe, it gave up the fast-running horses and turned to rush towards Frank, the lone human.
The knight who was riding a horse heard the movement behind him and quickly slowed down his pace, looking behind him with some doubt.
She pulled down her cloak, revealing a pure and lovely beautiful face. After seeing Frank dozens of meters behind her, she couldn't help but shout with some worry:
"Sir, you should run too. You can't handle so many wild dogs."
After that, she took out a small crossbow from her waist and shot an arrow at the wild dogs, as if to attract the wild dogs to chase her horse again.
Unfortunately, her shooting skills were very ordinary, and the small crossbow had a short range. The crossbow arrow did not hit the wild dogs' bodies, but still rubbed the tops of the wild dogs' heads and shot into the mud on the side.
Faced with her reminder, Frank was too lazy to refute. He carefully threw the empty crossbow in his hand aside, without hanging it on his body, so as not to be damaged by the wild dogs in the battle. Then he
held the iron sword in his hands with both hands, posed the most commonly used offensive posture of the Viper School Demon Hunter, and quietly waited for the wild dogs to approach.
The big black dog in the lead was the strongest and fastest, with thick black hair all over its body, just like a running wild boar.
It opened its mouth and flicked its tongue, its black eyes full of ferocity, and was not afraid of Frank who was in a fighting stance.
As the dog king of the White Orchard area, it had long been accustomed to fighting against creatures like humans, and had already bitten to death several human beings who were enemies without claws and teeth.
When facing a lone traveler, it would often only take a few seconds for it to charge with the pack of dogs and bite the person to a bloody mess, making him lose his fighting power.
Although the enemy in front of it was holding a shiny stick in his hand, as the dog king, the big black dog was not afraid.
Relying on its strong physique, it rushed directly to the front of the pack of dogs, ready to use its best attack of biting and pouncing to teach the human in front of it a lesson.
