Chapter 49: The Ancient Castle

Chapter 49 The Ancient Castle (Page 1/2)

Just as Frank was still thinking about how to improve the strength of the troll worker Stark so that he could help him deal with more powerful monsters in the future, a well-dressed old man slowly walked over from a distance.

Looking at the miserable dead water ghosts on the riverbank, the old man was surprised. From time to time, he would glance at the troll Stark who was eating, and said in an admiring tone:

"It's really surprising, Mr. Frank, you actually controlled a troll to fight for you."

"And this troll, it can't be the two that occupied the stone bridge a few days ago."

"You actually subdued them, it's unheard of!"

Facing the old man's surprise, Frank was quite calm. He smiled and said:

"Yes, Professor Connors."

"You should have heard that after I got on the bridge that day, I didn't fight with the trolls, but persuaded the two trolls to leave."

"For this reason, they had some arguments about my remuneration. In the end, it was Priscilla who argued for me, so that no unpleasant things happened."

The well-dressed old man smiled and nodded, saying:

"Indeed, I heard about it, Mr. Frank, and I agree with Miss Priscilla."

"As long as the goal of the commission is completed, no matter how the process is completed, you should be paid the remuneration you deserve."

"It is precisely because of your outstanding efficiency that I recommend you to the captain of the guard of Niubao."

"It is more appropriate to let a swordsmanship master from Cintra help us solve these dangerous monster problems than to let those young guards do it themselves."

At this point, Professor Connors sighed slightly.

"And you also rescued Dadarian, who is a student of our history department. It is commendable that you can save a student in danger."

"I didn't expect that he would be caught by the trolls. This is a poor child. Although his personality is a bit extreme, he actually works harder than most students. It's a pity that bad luck has always been hanging over him."

Frank did not comment on Dadarian's evaluation, but continued to explain:

"Thank you, Professor Connors."

"We have just arrived at Niubao, and we can cooperate with the captain of the guard here and get a good job, thanks to your recommendation."

"In fact, trolls are intelligent creatures like dwarves and halflings, with their own thoughts and living habits."

"But they have lower intelligence, fewer numbers, and no complete inheritance, which makes their behavior more like savage and bloodthirsty monsters."

"Not all trolls are evil. There are good and bad among them. As long as we put aside our prejudices, we can still communicate."

Frank explained his views on trolls, and then assured Professor Connors:

"Now the two trolls have returned to live in the forest, and I will be responsible for monitoring them."

"So everyone don't have to worry about what accidents might happen to these two trolls."

"If there is any problem, I will personally solve it."

Professor Connors was the old man who persuaded the merchants among the group of travelers who were blocked by the stone bridge.

He is a professor of history at Oxenford College and a well-known history scholar in the college.

Frank was still looking for a suitable shop in the city, but he was suddenly found by this professor. After some communication, he took him to meet with the captain of the guard in the town of Niubao and got a commission to clean up the water ghosts.

Frank certainly did not refuse this kind of extra money that was almost given for free.

Being able to establish a relationship with the captain of the guard in Niubao and show their strength will also facilitate them to get involved in more other tasks in the future.
