Chapter 9 Refugees (Page 1/2)
In 1263, in Cintra.
In the desolate fields, a man wearing an old chain mail, carrying a crossbow on his back, and two long swords hanging on his waist was walking silently in the wild.
He looked only about twenty years old, tall and strong, with a heroic temperament, dark brown hair tied into a ponytail, handsome but somewhat immature face without expression, and the sky blue eyes were not the pupils of normal humans, but vertical pupils similar to those of beasts.
This is not an ordinary human, but a demon hunter who always appears as a villain in many horror stories and rural legends.
However, unlike ordinary demon hunters, this young demon hunter Frank has neither the school emblem symbolizing a demon hunter nor the silver sword needed by demon hunters to deal with magical creatures.
Even the armor and equipment on his body were looted from the robbers defeated by Miss Succubus.
Perhaps the only thing that can prove his identity is the pair of unique animal eyes and the ability to use the demon hunter seal.
But this can't be blamed on him, because his missing Viper School teacher never gave him any items that could represent his identity as a demon hunter. Even his only iron sword was a gift purchased from an ordinary blacksmith shop.
The Viper School badge and Viper School demon hunter standard armor can only be obtained in the future when he has the opportunity to go to the Demon Hunter Academy in the Southern Empire and confirm the relationship with the Grand Master in the academy.
But Frank doesn't care about these. He is not a demon hunter in the true sense. He just inherited the memory of the original owner and has the ability of a demon hunter. Frank can say that he doesn't
care about the neutrality principle of demon hunters and their responsibility to help civilians deal with monsters.
According to the plot in his memory, it is now 1263, the time when the first Civil War broke out, and he is now in the Kingdom of Cintra where the war broke out.
Although the specific time is uncertain, it must be very dangerous to continue staying in Cintra.
Frank felt that even saving his life in this chaotic world was a luxury. Improving his strength was his first goal at the moment. As for other things, they were not within his consideration for the time being. It had been
two days since he left the forest where the Temple of the Goddess of Night was located. He had traveled at least 40 kilometers.
Unfortunately, he had no mount. All he saw along the way were barren wilderness and dense forests, without even a single person.
If he had not had some experience in surviving in the wild and had obtained some supplies from those dead bandits, he might have starved to death on the road.
Fortunately, after walking such a long way, he finally saw a village. Although there seemed to be only a dozen families there, Frank was still very happy.
He was really tired and didn't want to continue sleeping in the wilderness.
When he lived with Albedo, he didn't realize that Miss Succubus always prepared rich food for him and arranged his life properly, so he didn't need to worry about trivial matters.
But after he survived alone in the wild for several days with some dry food looted from the robbers, he really experienced what a hard life was.
Dry food, dirty river water, cold nights, sleeping in the open air, and hiding in tree holes at night.
Not only did he have bird feathers on his mouth, he had to use leaves to wipe his butt. The worst thing was that he couldn't sleep well every night and had to be alert to the surrounding environment at all times. Otherwise
, he might become the feces of wild animals and be pulled into some unknown corner to become fertilizer for flowers.
