Many things in the world are like this, just separated by a layer of window paper. You just need to break it, and you can immediately get a completely new result. It is not impossible to discover a whole new world from it.
It’s not easy to break through this membrane.
Just like the lameness now.
Putting things on wheels and making them into carts for transporting things is the most normal thing for people in later generations, but it is very difficult for people in the tribe to think of it.
If Han Cheng had not given suggestions, even based on the current foundation, it would have been very difficult for the people in the tribe to think of adding wheels to the sled, making it a vehicle, and harnessing deer and donkeys to pull the cart.
You can see this just by looking at Lame's reaction at this moment.
In fact, this is the biggest advantage of those who travel back in time, because they have knowledge that is many years ahead of others. When they deal with the things they encounter, they often feel that they are very common, or even take it for granted. In the eyes of people of this era, these things will cause an uproar.
Looking at the lame man who bowed deeply to him and praised the 'Son of God' respectfully, as well as the witch who joined him later, Han Cheng thought so with emotion.
It is no coincidence that Bo became the number one carpenter in the Qingque tribe. You can tell from the way he got excited after learning about the donkey cart and other things, and he couldn't wait to start making them.
The most critical part in making a two-wheeled donkey cart is not the sled-like body on top, but the wheels underneath.
This is really a very technical thing, especially the bearings connecting the two wheels.
Together with the weight of the car itself and the weight of the things loaded on the car, in time, all of them will be pressed on the bearings first, and then shared by the two wheels. You can imagine the weight they bear.
Before bronze was invented in the tribe, it was acceptable to use hardwood alone to make axles for some wheelbarrows. However, hardwood was not up to the task of making bearings for two-wheeled vehicles like donkey carts that were destined to carry a lot of things.
Therefore, the manufacturing of the donkey cart is not just the job of the carpenter Bo, but also the job of Heiwa, the craftsman who makes the mold, and the second senior brother who, in addition to the slingshot, specializes in copper and iron.
Han Cheng said that he needed to call his second brother and Heiwa to come over to study the matter, but before he could leave, the extremely excited carpenter Bo had already limped off and ran to find the two of them.
Seeing this speed, even Han Cheng, who had good physical condition, felt that he was far behind.
Not long after, Second Brother and Heiwa followed the excited Lame and came over with equally excited faces.
"Son of God!"
"Son of God!"
On the way here, the two men had already roughly understood through lame why Han Cheng called them here, so after coming to Han Cheng and greeting him, they began to look at Han Cheng with sharp eyes, waiting for Han Cheng to start issuing tasks.
Han Cheng was very satisfied with the attitudes of several people. He immediately took a piece of paper, a charcoal pencil, a ruler, a compass and other things, and began to draw two wheels connected by bearings on the paper.
After finishing the painting, he also shared some of his thoughts on it.
Han Cheng's most vivid memories of cart wheels come from his childhood when he and several friends in the village walked around the room to unload the wheels of an ox cart from the cart, with one wheel on the ground and the other in the air.
Hold it with your hand, and then push it hard, the wheel of the ox cart will start to rotate.
At an age when there were not many toys available, Han Cheng could play with such fun things for most of the day without getting bored.
However, the tires of the oxcart wheels at home are made of rubber, and where the bearing and the wheel are connected, in addition to the steel sleeve, there are small steel balls between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve.
These substances mixed with engine oil will reduce the friction between the wheels and the axles, making the ox cart run lighter and more smoothly.
There is still a huge gap between knowing these things and actually doing them, but at least we know where we need to work hard.
Han Cheng pointed to the simple diagram and explained this to several people. Among them, Bo and Heiwa understood the fastest. Second Senior Brother, a coppersmith who had changed his profession late, was much slower and was much more difficult to teach than Heiwa and the other two who understood things quickly.
But during this process you must also be friendly and in a good mood, otherwise, such a big, majestic-looking man will look like he is about to cry, which is really hard to watch.
Fortunately, for things like bearing rings, the most important thing is Heiwa, the person who makes the mold. All he has to do is make the mold, and the second brother will cast it step by step.
The discussion about the donkey cart lasted until it was almost dark, and it was finally over.
By the time it was over, several more people appeared in the conference room. They were leading figures of the Qingque tribe who came there after hearing some news.
For example, people like Senior Brother, Shang, and Mao.
Everyone coming out of the conference room could not hide their excitement, and they couldn't wait to ride on that two-wheeled, donkey-pulled cart.
The core technical personnel such as Second Brother, Bo, and Heiwa are eager to roll up their sleeves.
If Han Cheng hadn't ordered them to get some sleep and get enough rest before trying again tomorrow, these guys would definitely have worked all night long...
"Brother Cheng, what is a donkey cart?"
When going to bed at night, Bai Xuemei, lying on the kang, asked Han Cheng, full of curiosity.
"It's like putting a big wheel on each side of the sled near the middle, and then harnessing a donkey to pull the cart."
Han Cheng explained aloud.
After thinking for a while, he said, "When the donkey cart is built in the Time Tribe and the road leading to the Tongshan Residential Area is built, we will harness the donkey cart and load canned food, dried meat, millet, pots and bowls on it. I will drive the cart, and you and Little Pea will sit on the cart. Then we can take Fu Jiang and Tuan Tuan with us to go to the Tongshan Residential Area to play.
Let me show you the blue pool on the Copper Mountain..."
In the future, when you are trying to pick up a girl, if you say that I will take you and the children to see the outside world by pulling the ox cart at home, then nine times out of ten you will be rejected. She will give you a blank stare and turn away.
Want to bring your kids along? That's just a dream.
But now it's completely different.
After Han Cheng brought out this donkey cart that didn't even have a key to make his belt fall down, and said that he would take her and the child out to play when the time came, Bai Xuemei happily hugged Han Cheng's arm tightly, with stars in her eyes.
Han Cheng sighed again. If the single comrades in the future knew that it was so easy to find a wife at that time and the requirements were so low, I wonder if there would be a trend of going to the Gobi Desert and touching the rock paintings with their hands...
According to Han Cheng's guess, if he traveled far enough, he might be able to find a beautiful woman with fair skin, a pair of long legs that could crush a watermelon, and blonde hair and blue eyes to be his wife.
Of course, the premise is that they can survive in such an era, not become food for wild beasts, and take them to take a bath...
On the next day, the people in the tribe got up very early, and many of them had dark circles under their eyes. The most obvious ones were Bo, Heiwa, and Second Brother, the three main people who built the donkey cart, and Bai Xuemei, who was so excited about going out for an outing in the donkey cart that she couldn't sleep.
So when the two chubby guys, Tuantuan and his mother, came over, they looked at them in confusion for a long time, then silently hugged the bamboo in their arms and turned away without saying a word...
“Chichi~Chichi~”
Outside the carpenter's room, the two apprentices brought out by Lame Yishou stopped weaving rattan armor and were working hard with the saw, sawing down along the straight line drawn with charcoal pencil and ruler. As the fine sawdust fell, a piece of wood standing there was gradually cut into boards.
Lame was squatting on the side, chopping a piece of wood with a bronze axe in his hand.
The sled is very similar to the donkey cart, but there are still some differences.
Moreover, it was a pity to destroy a good sled and turn it into a donkey cart. Besides, copper axles could not be manufactured in a short period of time. Time was relatively sufficient, so Bo planned to rebuild a donkey cart based on the sled and according to some suggestions Han Cheng made yesterday.
After making this new donkey cart, I will make wooden wheels...
Inside the pottery room, Heiwa was squatting there making a mold with the mixed mud. It was not very easy to make this new mold. He would look at two pieces of paper placed not far away for a while after working for a while.
On it were drawings by Han Cheng of the shapes of two wheels connected by bearings, as well as the appearance of a single bearing.
After looking for a while, he turned back and continued making the mold.
During this process, he destroyed many semi-finished molds made of mud.
This is why most carpenters start learning their craft by using a large saw to cut wooden boards.
Han Cheng, who walked into the carpenter's room with Bo and the others, saw through the window Mao Er squatting in the yard, chopping waste materials with an axe with a serious look on his face. The smile on his face became even more intense.
When a person has energy and spirit, does not want to continue to be a slacker, and wants to achieve something in certain areas, the whole person will become different.
The structure of the ink fountain is not complicated, and the materials needed are not difficult to find. In addition, it is small in size. Han Cheng, who used to pull a rope to shoot lines onto wood when he was a child, was giving some guidance and corrections. Two hours were wasted, and a brand new thing that should not appear in this era appeared.
Fortunately, this is a historical world. If it were a world of gods, Buddhas, demons, and monsters, a time traveler like Han Cheng who always brings things that do not belong to this era would be very likely to be attacked and killed by the Son of the Plane...
However, when Han Cheng thought of Wang Mang, who was defeated by a meteorite summoned by the excellent great magician Liu Xiu using the meteorite summoning technique at the end of the Western Han Dynasty and looked like a time traveler, he became a little uneasy.
Who says that in the world of history there are no existences like the sons of the plane who have the synergy of heaven and earth and possess all the luck?
This sudden thought made Han Cheng shrink his neck, and he couldn't help but keep looking up, for fear that at some point, under the call of the Son of the Plane of this era, a meteorite would fall from the sky and smash him to pieces.
I looked like this several times in a row, and only after I saw the sky was clear and cloudless, did I slowly calm down.
At this time, Bo had already started pouring the ground ink into the small inkwell in front of him.
The rags stuffed in the small inkwell absorbed all the ink that Lame had poured into it.
In this way, the evaporation of ink can be slowed down, and even if the ink fountain is accidentally knocked over, the ink will not flow out and contaminate things.
At Han Cheng's signal, Lame, looking somewhat excited, hooked the small copper hook tied with a hemp rope on the side of the inkwell on the edge of a piece of wood, and then stepped back with the inkwell in his hand.
As the pulling force increased and the copper handle turned, the hemp rope wrapped around the copper handle was untied in circles. After passing through the wooden bucket in front filled with ink, the hemp rope was also dyed black by the ink.
Lame came to the flat wooden pillar, pressed the copper handle with the thumb of his left hand holding the ink fountain to stop the line from loosening, then bent down to align the line at this end with the mark that had been carved before, stretched out his other hand, pinched the rope, pulled it up and released it, and with a slight sound, the rope bounced on the wooden pillar, and a clear straight line appeared.
If the copper hook at the top of the ink string is well made, one person can complete the work of stringing, just like what he is doing now.
Although several people had seen the use of hemp rope for stringing not long ago, when they saw Bo use the newly made ink fountain to complete the task of stringing alone, the young carpenters who were watching on the side were all surprised and eager to try.
Looking at Lame holding the inkstone and the happy faces of several other carpenters, Han Cheng couldn't help but touch his head, thinking that it would have been great if he had thought of the inkstone earlier.
In this way, they can improve their work efficiency earlier.
Thinking of this, Han Cheng couldn't help but smile and shook his head.
In the later life, he had seen many things, many of which had been sealed in his memory. If he did not encounter a certain opportunity, it would be impossible to forcefully recall them...
