The first volume has 180,000 words, and the second volume has 230,000 words, which is basically in line with expectations, and not too much more.
Compared to the first volume which has a relatively complete plot, the second volume leaves a lot of foreshadowing and hooks, the purpose of which is of course to deceive, ahem, to attract readers to continue reading.
