Chapter Seventy-Five Blood Pact

Tu Ling didn't answer Ling immediately. He stood up and floated in front of Zi You, looking her up and down several times, muttering, "So alike, so very alike..."

"What do you mean by 'like'?" Zero asked in confusion, not understanding what Tu Ling meant by "like".

Tu Ling explained, "I'm saying that your Zi You really looks too much like the Xuanzhi Beast."

After listening to what Zero said, and now observing closely, one can see the difference between Zi You and Xuan Zhi Beast.

Besides, the Xuanzhi Beast lineage was wiped out in that great war, wasn't it...?

Zero remained noncommittal. He had never seen the Xuanzhi Beast that Tu Ling had mentioned, so he couldn't offer any opinion on the Ziyou Beast's resemblance to it.

After saying that, Tu Ling didn't say anything more, but looked at Ling and asked, "Do you know what a blood pact is?"

Seemingly not expecting Zero to answer, he continued, "Simply put, a blood pact uses blood as a medium to connect one party to another. However, there are many types of blood pacts, and their effects vary greatly."

"For example, yours is the lowest level of blood pact—the master-servant contract."

The master-servant contract is the lowest level because its conditions are the simplest, and its effects benefit only one party: the one who establishes the contract.

"Simply put, you and Ziyou have established a master-servant contract. Under this contract, it cannot go against your will, otherwise it will suffer the backlash of the contract. Moreover... most importantly, once the master dies, the one with whom it has established an equal contract will also die..."

Zero nodded and listened to what Tu Ling had to say next...

"The second type of contract is the equal contract—both parties take a drop of blood. If the other party is a plant, this clause is ignored. Under this contract, there will be no situation where the contractor dies and the contracted party dies as well. Hence it is called an equal contract."

"The third type of contract is the contract of life and death, also known as the Spirit Contract."

"This contract requires both parties to each contribute a drop of their heart's blood, using their souls as a vessel to establish the contract. Under this contract, if one party dies, the other will follow, their souls bound together."

Tu Ling paused, then said with some emotion, "However, no one has ever used such a contract throughout history. After all, who would be willing to give up the chance to be reincarnated at the cost of their soul?"

Zero remained noncommittal, somewhat surprised by the series of contracts mentioned by Tu Ling.

When he subdued Zi You, he was curious about the effects of the potion. Now he realizes that the potion made his blood the medium for the contract, which is how he established the master-servant contract with Zi You.

But Zero is now curious about how to communicate with it...

Now that a contract has been established, he and Ziyou should be able to communicate.

Thinking of this, Zero asked the question.

Tu Ling explained, "After establishing a master-servant contract, communication is indeed possible, but it also depends on how well you get along."

"Approachability?"

"Yes, it's about the level of emotional connection you have with it."

That's just intimacy level...

Zero muttered something under his breath.

Tu Ling's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed happily, "Yes! It's intimacy! That's a great adjective..."

However, for him to develop feelings for Zi You... well...

Zero turned his head and glanced at the enormous Purple Nether. Purple Nether also happily swayed its limbs, as if communicating with Zero.

Turning back, Zero asked, "Grandpa Tu Ling, how can I increase my intimacy with Zi You?"

Tu Ling chuckled and said, "Sleep with it."
