After leaving the cliff edge, Zero went to the Sunset Forest.
This is what Sunset Forest should look like—
The woods were quiet. Looking up, the sunlight shone through the leaves, twinkling like stars in the sky. It was a little dazzling, but very beautiful and crystalline, exuding an elusive tranquility.
The light and shadows shone down, swaying gently from side to side. Looking from one end of the woods to the other, the endless green seemed somewhat empty. The tender buds that should have been ready to bloom were being slowly torn to the ground by the wind, which felt like a blade.
However, this is only the view from the outer edge of the forest.
Feeling the charm of nature, Ling felt incredibly at ease.
After about two cups of tea's time, Zero arrived at the inner edge of the forest.
Some walked towards the temple with ease, and the journey was quite safe.
Arriving at the magnificent and opulent temple, Zero did not hesitate and went straight inside.
The Flower Goddess's projected clone was already waiting there.
"You've arrived."
The voice was exactly the same as the one Zero heard when he was trapped in the illusion. Sure enough, it was the Flower Goddess who gave him the advice.
Zero also politely thanked her, saying, "Thank you for the guidance from the Flower Goddess Illusion."
If the Flower Goddess hadn't told him he'd entered an illusion, he might have been trapped and died inside...
The Flower Goddess waved her hand and said, "I didn't tell you anything; you figured it all out yourself."
Indeed, breaking through that illusion involved zero utilizing his own space, a kind of bug-like existence.
However, without the Flower Goddess's guidance, he would not have known that it was an illusion, and thus would not have known how to break it.
Ultimately, it was the goddess of flowers who helped.
However, Zero also remembered that he had come here, and he still had many questions to ask the Flower Goddess.
Seemingly knowing what Zero was going to ask, before he could even speak, the Flower Goddess said, "I know what you want to ask. You must be wondering why so many things have happened..."
Zero nodded, and the Flower Goddess continued, "When I first met you, I didn't tell you the specifics because I wasn't sure you had the ability to restore Cheng'er. So even though I knew you were his soul, I only asked you to complete your so-called 'mission,' which was to protect the human world."
The tone shifted abruptly, and the Flower Goddess's eyes, gazing at Zero, became tinged with sadness. "It was my fault for not handling things properly. If I had discovered earlier that Li Su had been infected with a demonic seed, things wouldn't have come to this..."
Zero was initially saddened when the Flower Goddess said he was just a wisp of divine soul, but he later came to terms with it. Wasn't he just Hua Xingcheng? And Hua Xingcheng was also him. Why was he holding a grudge against him...?
Thinking of this, Zero asked again, "I roughly understand the whole story, but how does that element awaken..."
Since he is an elemental god, he should be able to awaken elemental powers, right...?
The Flower Goddess shook her head, somewhat ashamed, and said, "I didn't know... It was Cheng'er who figured out the cultivation method on his own. But... now that he is also you, what he can do, you can do too, after all, you are one."
Ling rubbed his forehead, somewhat speechless.
So, it seems he still has to do the research himself...
Is being an elemental god really that easy? You suddenly have an extra identity, only to find that you can't use your abilities. That's pretty frustrating.
However, Zero didn't give up; he quickly cheered himself up. He's the kind of person who loves to try new things, and it was precisely this drive that saved him from many pitfalls later on…
After bidding farewell to the Flower Goddess, Zero left the space to conduct his research...
