We circled the control center, but there was nowhere else to enter except the entrance we had just seen. As we were about to go back to the entrance to see if there was another way in, we heard a sound coming from the doorway. We hid behind a stone pillar to investigate, and a man came out. His back looked familiar. After he came out, a phone rang. He took out his phone from his bag, answered it, glanced in the opposite direction from us, and then turned back to look in our direction. We quickly hid. The man took a few steps forward, and we were able to see his profile clearly. It was Xu Qi, the man who had led us into the G City shelter's barrier.
We weren't far apart, but we couldn't hear what he was saying on the phone. He seemed very happy, and while talking, he was playing with the keychain in his hand. There was a conspicuous little card on the keychain, which looked like the chip card for entering the house. I reached out and grabbed Ji Lin'an's arm and gave him a look. Ji Lin'an nodded at me.
The next second, Ji Lin'an took out a wooden water gun and slowly walked behind Xu Qi, spraying him with the wooden water. Xu Qi reacted quickly, turning his head to look at Ji Lin'an. We were extremely tense, waiting for Xu Qi to collapse, but Xu Qi showed no sign of collapsing. He hurriedly said something into the phone and hung up. Although we couldn't hear what he said, his lip movements seemed to say: "I'll call you back later."
After hanging up the phone, Xu Qi pulled out a pistol from behind him and aimed it at Ji Lin'an, but did not fire in time. Ji Lin'an realized that his skills seemed to have no effect on Xu Qi, so he wisely raised his hands. Chen Hu took out his phone, ready to go out and rescue Ji Lin'an at any moment.
Xu Qi tilted his head and chuckled, "How did you find this place? Shouldn't you be on Zombie Island?"
Ji Lin'an remained silent for a long time. Xu Qi took out his phone and quickly said, "Come with me first. There are surveillance cameras all around here. The people in the monitoring room will be back at their workstations soon. If they see you here, you're dead."
Ji Lin'an frowned deeply after hearing this. Xu Qi still pointed his gun at Ji Lin'an. Ji Lin'an nodded to Xu Qi to indicate that he understood. Xu Qi then pointed in our direction: "Go that way. There is a hidden door behind the second stone pillar on the side. I'll take you in to hide first."
Although Ji Lin'an was puzzled as to why Xu Qi would help him, he still followed him forward. Chen Hu and I hurriedly ran towards the hidden door behind the second stone pillar that Xu Qi had mentioned, but after looking around, we couldn't find the entrance. Seeing that Ji Lin'an and Chen Hu had turned around, we immediately hid behind the third stone pillar.
Ji Lin'an stood in front of Xu Qi. Xu Qi pressed the gun against Ji Lin'an's back, put his phone in his pocket, took out his keychain, took out the chip, and scanned it on the side of the stone pillar. An entrance immediately appeared on the stone pillar. Xu Qi put the key in his pocket and pressed the gun against Ji Lin'an again: "Go in."
Ji Lin'an hesitated for a moment, and Chen Hu immediately rushed out and struck Xu Qi hard on the back of the neck. Xu Qi fell to the ground instantly. Chen Hu clutched his arm in pain, and Ji Lin'an snatched Xu Qi's pistol away: "Let's go in first. Maybe it really is as Xu Qi said, that someone is monitoring us in the surveillance room."
Chen Hu said, "Then you have to deal with this person, otherwise we'll be exposed when he wakes up."
Ji Lin'an shook his head, squatted down, and picked Xu Qi up: "We can't kill him yet. There are still many things we don't understand. We need to get the answers from him."
Chen Hu nodded and stepped forward to help Ji Lin'an lift Xu Qi. We quickly entered the hidden door. After entering, the hidden door closed automatically, and we suddenly began to sink. After a few seconds of feeling weightless, we stopped. The door quickly opened, and it was pitch black outside. We could only vaguely see a corridor. Not far away in the corridor, there was a green light for an emergency exit. Ji Lin'an released Xu Qi, and Chen Hu carried him alone. He slowly poked his head out with a pistol in his hand. There were no surveillance cameras or people in the corridor, which seemed particularly eerie.
Ji Lin'an walked out of the hidden door and we followed closely behind, walking slowly down the corridor. At the end of the corridor, there was another door that required a card to enter. Chen Hu took out a keychain from Xu Qi's pocket and handed it to Ji Lin'an. Ji Lin'an took the key and swiped it at the card reader, and the door opened.
We stood close to the wall. Ji Lin'an, holding a gun, poked his head into the room. After confirming that no one was there, Ji Lin'an went inside and found the light switch on the side wall. After turning on the switch, the room was completely visible: a closed bedroom with no door or windows. There were many empty beer cans on the coffee table and an ashtray full of cigarette butts, but there was no smell of smoke in the room.
We carried Xu Qi into the house and threw him onto the bed. I took out a rope from my spatial storage, and Ji Lin'an and the other person tied Xu Qi to the side of the bed. The four of us searched around the house, but apart from some simple furniture and a few daily necessities, there were no suspicious items.
Ji Lin'an went into the bathroom, found a basin, filled it with water, and poured it over Xu Qi's head. Xu Qi shuddered and suddenly woke up, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at us warily. When he saw that it was us, his eyes relaxed: "You should have said you had so many people earlier. I could have just brought you all in at once. Why did you have to knock you out and tie you up?"
Seeing that Xu Qi seemed completely unafraid, Ji Lin sat down next to Xu Qi and asked, "Who are you? Why are you trapping us on zombie island and making us kill each other?"
Xu Qi sneered, "You've already asked me, how could you not guess? I'm definitely in cahoots with the people who sent you in."
Chen Hu walked up to Xu Qi with a hint of anger and kicked him: "What kind of attitude is this? You're in our hands now. Tell us the whole story honestly."
Xu Qi frowned, sighed, and said, "You can't kill me."
Chen Hu snatched the gun from Ji Lin'an's hand and pointed it at Xu Qi: "With the gun in our hands, killing you wouldn't be a problem, would it?"
Xu Qi snorted coldly: "Why don't you try it? You'll know once you fire a shot at me."
Chen Hu's hand trembled slightly as he looked at Ji Lin'an. Ji Lin'an reached out, took the gun, and pointed it at Xu Qi's head. Seeing that Xu Qi was completely unafraid, Ji Lin'an frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then pulled the trigger. There was a very faint "whoosh," and a flash of blue light appeared from the gun. Xu Qi did not react at all, but just looked up at the muzzle and laughed, "I told you, you can't kill me."
Chen Hu scanned the room and spotted a fruit knife lying under a beer can. He took out the knife and waved it in front of Xu Qi: "Guns are useless, but knives are always useful."
Xu Qi didn't speak, just stared at Chen Hu as if he were an idiot. Chen Hu's anger flared instantly, and he raised the fruit knife and stabbed Xu Qi in the stomach. Although the knife pierced Xu Qi's abdomen, there wasn't a drop of blood. Chen Hu pulled the knife out; there was no blood on the knife, and Xu Qi had no wound on his stomach. We all looked at each other, frowning in dismay...
