Chapter 12 It's so hard to survive

Ten minutes later...

"Master, your new skill is about to be activated. Please do not use your skill during the activation period."

Five minutes later...

"Master, your new skill has been activated. Please open your phone to view your skill."

I opened my phone and found a new app next to the original Any Door app. When I opened it, there was only one button on the screen. After opening it, it was like a phone camera, with zoom and wide-angle modes. The difference was that the Thousand-Mile Eye could zoom in infinitely and see through walls, somewhat like a 3D perspective in a game. Swiping the screen with two fingers to zoom in would automatically allow me to see through walls and see what was behind them. When I zoomed out, the walls would become visible.

"Master, your hidden space is waiting to be activated. Please go to the mission center to complete the mission to activate the hidden space."

I opened the task list

Task 1: Use the clairvoyance skill for 10 minutes.

Task 2: Use your telescopic vision to lock onto your target and eliminate them.

I looked at Ji Lin'an with a face full of questions: "Lock on a target? Do I need to lock onto a zombie and kill it, or lock onto a person?"

Ji Lin'an nodded: "It should be fine. It seems you need to use your clairvoyance to find a target and then kill him."

I activated my telescope: "Then I'll find a zombie."

I turned on the telescope camera, pointed it at the floor, and swiped the screen to clearly see what the living rooms of each apartment downstairs looked like. When I continued swiping to the twentieth floor, I saw a zombie wandering around in the living room. There was a box on the screen that kept jumping around, and there was a lock button in the lower right corner. After clicking it, I entered another interface, which showed the zombie that I had just locked onto.

I stood up, grabbed my gun, and said, "Let's go, I'll go kill it."

Ji Lin'an reached out and grabbed my hand: "I'll go with you."

I smiled and shook my head: "It's okay, no need to accompany me. I can handle one zombie. Zombies are much simpler and easier to deal with than people."

Ji Lin'an looked at me with a pleading look and said with a smile, "Take me there, I want to see your heroic figure."

I couldn't help but laugh. He was clearly worried about me, yet he'd managed to flatter me like that; I wonder where he learned that from. Ji Lin'an and I teleported downstairs, landed, turned around, and fired—bang! We finished him off and immediately returned home.

Ji Lin'an gave a thumbs up: "Very fast, very cool."

I said smugly, "Why are we afraid of zombies when we've killed people? I used to think that a zombie outbreak would end humanity, but now I realize that internal strife is the beginning of humanity's demise."

Ji Lin'an remained silent. I put down my gun, turned on my phone, and clicked "Mission Complete." Xiao Bing popped up.

"Master, congratulations! Your creative skill simulation space has been activated. Please go and check it out."

A new software appeared. After opening it, Ji Lin'an and I entered the space. The space was blank. There was a display screen in front of us with a text box on it. The bottom line read: Please enter the item you want to create.

I asked, "It's just a minor ailment. How do I use the creative space?"

"Master, in the creation space you can input any item you want to create. You will receive all the materials and tools needed for the item, as well as the crafting instructions. After crafting, you will receive the item, which can be taken out of the space or stored in the space. If you do not perform any actions within 15 minutes of entering the space, you will be forcibly exited. The cooldown time is two hours. When you enter the space to start creating, time in the space will be slowed down by ten times. The daily time limit for entering the space is two hours of the outside world. At your current level, you can create three times a day."

I exclaimed excitedly, "Isn't that a universal treasure chest? It just requires you to create it yourself."

Ji Lin'an nodded in agreement: "That sounds like it. Have you thought about what you want to do?"

I stroked my chin: "What would be most helpful to us right now?"

Ji Lin'an said with a smile, "A new sanctuary."

I looked at Ji Lin'an with a helpless expression: "...Are you making things difficult for us? How are we supposed to make this?"

Ji Lin'an shook his head: "No, what we need most right now is a new shelter. According to that mysterious lucky guy, the assassin lucky guy will find us soon."

I frowned: "But if we move, we'll have to remove the solar panels and take them with us. Without electricity, we won't be able to use our skills."

Ji Lin'an's expression turned serious: "So far, Little Illness hasn't indicated that the assassin Lucky One has been nearby. He probably can't figure out our exact location for a while. We can find a new room, move some supplies in, and create the illusion that we're staying there to lure the assassin Lucky One there. Right now, that assassin Lucky One must be in the vicinity. He won't be able to get the Mysterious Lucky One's skill, so he'll be searching frantically. This area isn't particularly safe either. We can use the Anywhere Door to find the shelter that's a diversionary tactic. We also need a safe shelter that can be used as a default location. To ensure that the computer always has power, why don't you make a simple version of a portable generator that can power the computer? That way, we can change locations at any time, and most of the supplies can be put in your mobile space. Keep the surveillance here as usual, and leave the solar panels here. If no one's around, we can come back to recharge them."

Ji Lin'an rattled off a whole bunch of things in one breath, leaving me a bit overwhelmed. I just nodded and typed "simple household generator" into the screen. Soon, a table appeared, looking about two or three meters long and wide, piled high with materials and tools. I saw many things I'd never seen before, as well as common tools and machines that electricians carry. A production instruction manual and a production video popped up on the screen. I clicked to watch, and after watching, I felt completely lost. It's true what they say, "a trade is like a mountain." I felt like I understood many of the steps, but at the same time, I didn't really understand them.
