Chapter 135 Awakening

I opened my eyes wide and saw my father, mother, and my brother standing to the side. My brother frowned and looked at me with a threatening smile. Outside, I heard the clattering of high heels, and everyone instinctively looked towards the door.

A woman wearing a tight red dress and black high heels walked in. Her appearance was very familiar, and I quickly locked onto one person in my mind: Little K. She looked much more mature now, with her orange hair tied up in a bun. My brother's gaze at me was sharp, so I immediately looked away from Little K. I couldn't let my brother know that I had regained my memory, otherwise I didn't know what he and Little K would do to me.

Little K swayed over and said, "Su Su, wow, you've grown so big and beautiful."

The old man looked extremely unwell and wouldn't even glance at Xiao K. Xiao K walked towards my bedside but was stopped by my mother: "She just woke up and can't stand the smell of meat."

K paused for a moment, her lips twitched, and she turned to walk to Bai Cheng's side. As soon as K entered, the whole room was filled with her perfume, a rich, sweet floral and fruity scent mixed with the aroma of almonds. My stomach churned. Seeing my furrowed brows, my mother quickly stepped forward and asked, "Su Su, are you feeling unwell?"

I swallowed hard to suppress the urge to vomit. My mother picked up a glass of water from the table and brought it to my lips. After a few sips, I felt a little better. I had to find a way to get away from Bai Cheng and Xiao K. I glanced at Aunt Wu standing behind Bai Cheng. If I remembered correctly, Aunt Wu had also been bribed by Bai Cheng. I thought for a moment and whispered to my mother, "Mom, I suddenly really want to eat Laba porridge."

My mother gently stroked my forehead: "You've just recovered from a long illness, so eat something simple. How about I ask Aunt Wu to cook you some lotus seed and white fungus porridge?"

I made a disappointed face, lowered my head and didn't say anything. My mother sighed softly and turned to Wu Ma and said, "Wu Ma, make some Laba porridge for Su Su."

After hearing the greeting, Aunt Wu left. I looked around the room and saw only Dr. Li and two nurses. I wasn't sure if Dr. Li was the doctor Bai Cheng had bribed, so I couldn't let him stay just to be safe. I said to Dr. Li, "Doctor, is there something wrong with me?"

Dr. Li was startled by my sudden call and stepped forward for a second before saying, "It seems there's nothing wrong at the moment."

Just as I was about to send Dr. Li away, Bai Cheng suddenly spoke up: "Mom and Dad, just to be on the safe side, let's take Su Su to the hospital. If she fell and hit her head, Dr. Li might not be able to tell if she has a concussion or internal injuries."

I quickly grabbed my mother's hand: "Mom, I'm fine. I just tripped and fell. It's nothing to make a fuss about."

After I finished speaking, I turned to Bai Cheng and smiled sweetly, "Thank you for worrying about me, brother. I'm fine."

It seems that ever since Bai Cheng started being bullied by his classmates, he has never paid any attention to me. At that time, I didn't know why he didn't want to play with me anymore, but before that, I always greeted him with a sweet smile, and he would pinch my face and secretly kiss my cheek, and I would kiss him back.

Bai Cheng paused for a second when he saw my smile, then glanced guiltily at Little K behind him. After confirming that Little K hadn't noticed, he said to the old man, "Dad, I think we should let Su Su go back to the hospital."

The old man didn't say anything. Just as Bai Cheng was about to say something more, the old man's wheelchair suddenly moved forward and threw Bai Cheng behind him. Bai Cheng closed his mouth again. I smiled at the old man and said, "Dad."

The old man looked at me kindly and said, "Susu, if you want to stay at home, then stay. If you feel unwell anywhere, just tell your parents right away."

I smiled sweetly and nodded. After the old man finished speaking, he turned around in his wheelchair. My mother subconsciously got up to try to push the old man away, but he stopped and turned around when he heard footsteps. "I can do it myself. You stay and keep Su Su company."

After saying that, the wheelchair moved towards the door on its own. When it was almost at the door, it shouted without turning its head, "What are you still doing here? Don't disturb your sister's rest."

Bai Cheng turned and glanced at me. I smiled at Bai Cheng with feigned nonchalance. Bai Cheng then turned and glanced at the old man before leaving the room with Little K. After the old man and the others left, the doctors said goodbye to my mother and left as well.

After everyone left, only my mother and I were left in the room. I glanced at the door, which was not closed. My mother looked at me, smiled, got up, walked to the door, and closed it.

I suddenly remembered hearing my mother and her husband arguing when I was about to wake up. My mother sat back on the bed, and I asked curiously, "Mom, I think I heard you two arguing just now."

The mother paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "It's nothing, I was just a little loud."

I continued, "Did your brother say something?"

My mother looked at me without saying anything, then reached out and grabbed my hand: "Susu, don't you really feel any discomfort anywhere?"

I nodded: "No, I don't feel anything except that I'm a little hungry."

My mother smiled with relief and tightened her grip on my hand. I hesitated for a moment and asked, "Mom, do you know that my consciousness was sent into a hallucination?"

The mother nodded: "How could I not know?"

I asked, "Do you know what I experienced in the illusion?"

The mother nodded and then shook her head: "Your brother said you started a completely new life inside, got into university, and even got a boyfriend."

Boyfriend?! I immediately thought of Ji Lin'an. Could it be that Ji Lin'an was just someone I saw in my illusion? Where is he now? Has he already disappeared when I woke up?

The mother asked cautiously, "Susu, what's wrong? Did something upset you? Tell Mom about it."
