Chapter 37 Silang

The man calmly raised his hands: "I didn't do anything to her."

Seeing Kaka lying motionless in the carriage, I opened my mouth and said angrily, "Step back, get away from her."

The man obediently moved a few steps in the opposite direction of the carriage. I slowly approached the carriage to check on Kaka. Her breathing was steady and she had no external injuries. I gently patted Kaka's face and tried to wake her up: "Kaka? Kaka, wake up."

A thought suddenly popped into my head. I reached out to check Kaka's clothes; they were neatly dressed, with no signs of having been undone. I looked at the man: "Why are you here? You didn't do anything to this girl, so why did she faint in the carriage?"

The man smiled slightly and said, "I didn't do anything to her, I just hypnotized her, and she's sleeping soundly now."

I looked at Kaka with a puzzled expression. We were making so much noise but we didn't wake her up. I frowned and asked again, "Even if she was asleep, she couldn't be sleeping that soundly. What did you do to her?"

The man pointed his finger at Kaka: "Try shouting a few more times."

I nudged Kaka a few times, half-believing and half-doubting: "Kaka, Kaka, wake up."

Kaka turned her head slightly, and I continued to push and call to her. After a couple of calls, Kaka suddenly opened her eyes, her eyes red and wary as she looked at me. I breathed a sigh of relief: "Kaka, you're finally awake! You scared us to death."

Kaka noticed that we had relaxed our guard and looked at me with a puzzled expression as she sat up: "Sister Su, what are you doing here? Where am I?"

Kaka frowned and looked around. I patted Kaka's shoulder gently: "I woke up and found that you were located in town, so I came to look for you. When I found you, you were already lying here with this man next to you. What happened? Did he do something to you?" I pointed to the man in the distance.

Kaka looked in the direction I pointed, her expression shifting between light and dark. She rubbed her temples and pondered for a moment before looking up and saying, "Sister Su, there might be some misunderstanding here. This brother is Xilang, Wufeng's partner."

"Xilang?"

Ji Lin'an and I exclaimed in surprise at the same time. We looked at each other and I said, "Isn't Xilang in G City? How come he's here? Kaka, how are you sure this is Xilang?"

Kaka returned to her innocent and naive self: "Brother Xilang just showed me that his match is Brother Wufeng."

I asked in confusion, "Then why are you lying in the carriage?"

Kaka jumped off the carriage: "Brother Xilang's skill is hypnosis. I showed him my skill, so I wanted to try his skill too. I didn't expect to fall asleep so soundly."

Kaka smiled sheepishly. I looked at Xilang, who seemed nonchalant, and said unhappily, "Why didn't you answer our questions clearly when we asked you earlier?"

Xilang laughed indifferently, "I already told you, she was just hypnotized by me, but you just didn't believe me."

I rolled my eyes at Xilang: "Your answer was very misleading, okay? It's a good thing Kaka woke up, otherwise you would already be dead under my gun."

Xilang lowered his hands: "Now that you know the truth, you can put the gun down, it's kind of scary."

Ji Lin'an and I reluctantly put away our guns: "Let's go home first, we'll interrogate you two later."

Xilang and Kaka obediently walked to the car. I tossed the car keys to Kaka and suddenly asked, "Kaka, do you have a driver's license?"

Kaka smiled at me, and just as she was about to nod, she suddenly hesitated: "I haven't had a chance to take the test yet, but my dad taught me to drive when I was 16. I would secretly drive my dad's car around in the mountains."

I sighed helplessly, "So you're driving without a license? Stop driving, let Xilang drive."

Xilang spread his hands at me: "I can't drive."

Ji Lin'an narrowed his eyes and asked, "Then how did you get back to town?"

Like Kaka, Xilang hesitated for a moment: "I hitched a ride with other lucky people to a nearby town and asked them to bring me here."

Ji Lin'an and I exchanged a glance, understood each other, and didn't ask any more questions. We let the two of them get into the carriage, and then Ji Lin'an and I mounted our horses.

When we arrived at the farm, Wufeng and Qianliyan had already been woken up by Xilangkaka. Ji Linan and I dismounted and let Ji Linan go in first. I led the horse back to the stable. When Wufeng heard that we had returned, he immediately came out of the house: "Little Su Yi, Little Su Yi, I didn't expect you to have this ability. You can actually ride Jixiang."

I raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Jixiang? Your horse is named Jixiang?"

Wu Feng laughed and said, "That's right."

I smiled and said, "Hmm, it's a very auspicious name."

I turned my head and touched Jixiang's cheek: "Jixiang, you're such a good boy. I'll go get you a carrot. Wait here."

I walked to the grain pile, took four or five carrots, and put them in the trough. Jixiang grunted at me, and I stroked its braided pigtails: "Eat up."

I turned around and walked back to the door. Wufeng pointed at Jixiang and said, "Jixiang has a good temperament, but it's shy. Before, when Xilang wanted to ride it, it wouldn't let him. It would either twist its neck or stomp its feet. It has a big temper. I know you want to ride a horse. I was thinking of taking some time these few days to let you get used to it. I didn't expect you to handle it by yourself and even ride it back and forth. You're amazing."

I smiled smugly: "Right? I also think I'm pretty amazing. Jixiang is so well-behaved and easy to control."

Wu Feng patted my shoulder: "Not bad, it proves that Ji Xiang likes you very much."

After we finished speaking, we went inside. Xilang and Kaka were already sitting on the sofa drinking tea. I sat down next to Ji Lin'an, and Qianliyan excitedly said to me when he saw me, "Susu, Xilang's skills are awesome!"

I flashed my standard smile: "I've seen it for myself. Your Kaka was hypnotized and put to sleep so soundly."

A hint of panic flickered in Qianliyan's eyes: "Wh...what? My Kaka? Don't talk nonsense."

Thousand-Mile Eye immediately lowered his head and tried to appear calm as he poured himself a cup of tea, but his ears were already bright red, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

I looked at Xilang and asked curiously, "Xilang, why did you suddenly come back?"

Wufeng quickly explained for Xilang, "Xilang said he came back to take me to G City."

I raised an eyebrow slightly: "Go to G City? Why should I take you to G City?"

Xilang sat there leisurely and took a sip of tea: "G City has a good environment and there are already quite a few people living there. I don't want Wufeng to wander alone outside. Jiang Cheng is determined to develop G City into the only new city in the country. In the future, all the survivors will live there. There will be no shortage of supplies there, and life will be guaranteed."

Jiang Chengzhang? He's declared himself king already? Now I understand why everyone's been so eager to recruit people into G City. They've probably all been brainwashed by Jiang Chengzhang. First, they enthusiastically recruit people into their circle, then they declare themselves king and rule over the remaining humans. I've seen this kind of plot countless times in zombie movies.
