Ji Lin'an nodded: "Okay, let's do this. We'll make some noise at the garden gate to lure your ex-boyfriend out of the villa. You can change the teleportation point to the living room. Once we get there, we'll lock the front door and make him leave the villa first, then we'll figure out a way to force him out."
I looked at Ji Lin'an: "What about his girlfriend? What should we do?"
Ji Lin'an laughed and said, "Are you still afraid of her when there are two of us?"
I asked, puzzled, "Then why should the two of us be afraid of the two of them? Let's just go back and fight."
“We don’t know their location right now. If you go back rashly and happen to be in front of your ex-boyfriend, what if I can’t save you in time? That would be like walking into a trap.”
I nodded: "That makes sense, I'll listen to you then."
Ji Lin'an took the dagger from his waist and gave it to me. He then took a baseball bat from the armory. We ran to the gate of Ji Lin'an's garden. He picked up the baseball bat and knocked on the gate a few times, carefully controlling his strength, worried that the noise would attract zombies. Sure enough, Zhu Chen came out less than a minute later. Seeing this, we immediately returned to the villa. Ji Lin'an quickly closed and locked the front door. Jiang Kexin was also at the door, seemingly watching Zhu Chen at the garden gate. When she saw us suddenly appear, she instinctively prepared to scream. I quickly stepped forward and covered her mouth. Zhu Chen also realized that he had been lured away and immediately rushed to the front door, frantically banging on it. We ignored him.
Ji Lin'an helped me tie up Jiang Kexin and gag her, not wanting to hear a single word she said. I turned to Ji Lin'an and said, "I want revenge. Turn your head away now."
Ji Lin'an turned around knowingly. When I saw him turn around, I raised my hand and slapped Jiang Kexin a few times. In order to make the slap more satisfying, I deliberately moved the chair to the wall and tied it to prevent her from falling over with one slap. After a few slaps, my hand was numb. Jiang Kexin kept struggling. Her mouth was covered and she couldn't speak, but from her groans and moans, I could tell how filthy she was cursing.
Ji Lin'an walked up to me: "Did you feel good venting?"
I nodded contentedly: "Although it's still lacking, I'm too lazy to vent."
Ji Lin'an looked out the window: "Then be careful, I'll go out and take care of Zhu Chen."
The image of Zhu Chen's burly figure flashed through my mind: "How do we deal with him? Kill him? He's quite sturdy."
Ji Lin'an gave me a reassuring smile: "It's okay, as long as you're safe, I can handle him myself."
I've only ever seen Ji Lin'an play the piano and play basketball; I've never actually seen him fight. When he kills zombies, he always finds the right opportunity to kill them with one blow, so I'm a little worried.
I looked at the baseball bat in Ji Lin'an's hand: "Are you planning to take the baseball bat out? Or you could take the knife."
Ji Lin'an raised the baseball bat and swung it: "It's okay. Keep an eye on this woman. If I can't beat her, then you can come and help. She's right by the door. Stay away for now. As soon as I open the door, she'll rush in. I'll find a way to subdue her. You take the axe. If things look bad, then use it."
After saying that, Ji Lin'an took an axe from his teleportation space and gave it to me before rushing out. I stood behind the sofa, axe in hand. As soon as the door opened, Zhu Chen rushed in, screaming like a madman, carrying two large garden landscaping stones. My heart jumped into my throat. Ji Lin'an bent down, hugged Zhu Chen, and carried him towards the garden. Before Zhu Chen could react, he was already in the garden. When he finally realized what was happening, he raised the stones, ready to smash them on Ji Lin'an's head. I was terrified and couldn't help but shout for Ji Lin'an to be careful. I then rushed out with the axe in hand. I had only reached the entrance when I saw Zhu Chen being thrown to the ground by Ji Lin'an with an over-the-shoulder throw. Before Zhu Chen could get up, Ji Lin'an twisted his arm and forced him to kneel on top of him. Zhu Chen let out a wail. I quickly dropped the axe, grabbed a rope, and went out to give it to him. After Ji Lin'an tied Zhu Chen up, he threw him in front of Jiang Kexin.
Ji Lin'an decided to leave the two of them to fend for themselves on the streets of the city center. I thought it was a good idea; after all, they were exes, and if I couldn't do it myself, I should at least let them live. I opened the portal, entered the address, and Ji Lin'an grabbed the rope binding Zhu Chen and Jiang Kexin with his left hand and pulled me with his right. I pressed the teleportation button, and we were instantly in the city center. Ji Lin'an immediately let go, and I shouted "Back! Back! Back!" The next second, we were back at the villa. We didn't dare linger. The past two months of leisurely living had made us quite comfortable, to the point that we had relaxed our sense of urgency in the face of the apocalypse. The moment we arrived in the city center, seeing the dense hordes of zombies and wrecked cars everywhere, the bloodstains and garbage scattered all over the ground, and the overwhelming stench, we regained the emotions we had when we first entered the apocalypse.
After that incident, Ji Lin'an and I decided to temporarily stop killing zombies. We spent five days quietly at home. One morning, after breakfast, we prepared to use our skills to complete our daily mission, but the Anywhere Door failed, and Ji Lin'an's Treasure Chest wouldn't open either. Ji Lin'an and I panicked, and Ji Lin'an immediately pulled up the answers from the minor illness consultation.
"Master, Master, since you have not completed the zombie killing mission for five days, the system has determined that you are in standby mode. In standby mode, you will lose the right to use all post-apocalyptic skills."
I tried to open the mobile space, but failed. Ji Lin'an couldn't open the armory either. Our hearts sank to our feet. I asked, unwilling to give up, "Little illness, little illness, how do we activate the apocalypse skill in standby mode?"
"Master, master, the mode skill can only be activated after killing 100 zombies."
100. Hearing the number, I collapsed weakly onto the sofa. I had always thought we had nothing to worry about, that we were the chosen ones. But not being able to use our skills in this apocalypse felt like losing everything. The food in the storage room would last for a little over a month, and the vegetables in the garden would only last for two more months before we ran out of supplies. So, to keep up with the pace, Ji Lin'an and I were practically out early and back late, eating our food in the car every day. We fought our way through the neighborhoods until we reached the neighborhood at the foot of the mountain. After killing more than fifty zombies, the number of zombies we encountered decreased, forcing us to continue towards the more distant downtown area.
