I vaguely remember sleeping for a long time, but then I felt a chill down my back. I knew I had caught a cold. My whole body ached, and I reached out with my eyes closed, wanting Ji Lin'an to get me some medicine. But as soon as I put my hand next to me, I was jolted awake by a bone-chilling cold. Everything went dark, and I sat up in fright, calling out softly, "Ji Lin'an, Ji Lin'an?"
The sound echoed in my ears. I wasn't in a room; it felt like I was in a cave. I fumbled for my phone, surrounded by cold, uneven stones. Luckily, I found it. I turned on the phone's flashlight and shone it around me. All around me were gray-black stone walls, and there were stones at my feet as well. I looked into the distance and saw a pool of water not far away. I looked around and saw pools of water everywhere. I was on a rock in the middle of the pool, about five or six meters from the shore.
It was pitch black all around, and I was both cold and scared. I immediately called Ji Lin'an. The call connected, and I suddenly heard a vibration coming from the surroundings. I looked towards the sound and saw a glimmer of light behind a rock in the distance. I excitedly called out in that direction, "Ji Lin'an, Ji Lin'an!"
Still no movement. I looked at the pool and tentatively stepped into it, slowly making my way to the bottom. The water wasn't deep, just up to my knees. I put my other foot in and slowly made my way towards the shore. After walking two or three meters, I suddenly lost my footing and fell into the water, half of my body submerged. Luckily, I instinctively held up my phone, and with difficulty, I got up and tried again. The water level had dropped slightly ahead, and when I touched the bottom, the water reached my waist. I carefully made my way forward, finally breathing a sigh of relief when I reached the shore.
I dialed Ji Lin'an's number again and followed the vibration to the back of the glowing rock. I cautiously peeked out and shone my flashlight behind the rock. I saw a person lying behind it, his back to me. I looked closely and saw that the clothes were Ji Lin'an's. Excitedly, I ran around the rock to Ji Lin'an's side and turned him over. He didn't move, but his body was still warm. I patted Ji Lin'an's face to try to wake him. He groaned softly. I happily continued to pat him. Ji Lin'an coughed twice and opened his eyes: "Where am I?"
Ji Lin'an struggled to get up, and I helped him up: "I don't know either, I was here when I woke up."
Ji Lin'an turned to look at the ground and quickly searched, finding his phone next to his butt. He got up and turned on his flashlight. With both of our flashlights on at the same time, the scene inside the cave became much clearer. The cave wasn't big; in front of it was a pond, and in the center of the pond was the place I had just brought over. Behind us was a wall. Ji Lin'an said, "Let's use the Anywhere Door to get out first."
I opened my phone and entered the address of my residence, but after clicking confirm, we were still here. I tried several different places but still couldn't get out. I was getting anxious. Ji Lin'an frowned and comforted me, "Don't panic, let's find the exit."
I nodded and split up with Ji Lin'an, each of us searching one side, but all were dead ends. We walked back to the rock where Ji Lin'an had fainted: "We didn't find an exit. This cave doesn't seem to have an exit."
Ji Lin'an nodded: "Yes, but there is obviously a wind in the cave. Let's look for the wind gap, maybe we can find the exit."
Ji Lin'an plucked a strand of hair from my head, held it by the root, and shone the flashlight on it. The hair seemed to be floating in one direction. Looking in the opposite direction of the hair's movement, it was the direction of the rock where I had woken up. Just as Ji Lin'an was about to go into the water, I stopped him: "I'll go. I came from that side, and I'm already wet. Don't go into the water yet, or you'll get your clothes wet too."
Ji Lin'an looked down at me and reached out to touch my body: "I was in too much of a hurry just now and didn't notice. Don't go down, take off your clothes and wear mine. I'll go over."
I was just about to say no when Ji Lin'an took off his shirt. Luckily, I like to sleep in loose T-shirts and men's beach shorts, otherwise Ji Lin'an really wouldn't be able to wear my clothes. After we changed clothes, Ji Lin'an went into the water. I reminded him, "Slow down. There's a step about three meters away. Be careful not to trip."
Ji Lin'an nodded and slowly walked towards the rock where I had woken up. When he reached the rock, he picked up the hair again to examine it. The wind vent was still far away. Ji Lin'an went into the water towards the wind vent and continued walking further away. He stopped halfway there. I asked, "What's wrong? Did you find something?"
Ji Lin'an turned his head: "We can't go any further. If we go any further, we won't be able to touch the bottom."
I was getting a little anxious: "Then come back first, don't go any further."
Ji Lin'an picked up the flashlight, looked around again, and then turned back to my side: "The wind is definitely coming from that direction, but I don't see any exit. Maybe the wind is coming in through a small gap."
Ji Lin'an was a little discouraged, but then suddenly thought of something: "Call Xu Qi."
Ji Lin'an found Xu Qi's phone number and dialed it. After a few rings, the phone was answered, and Ji Lin'an immediately said, "Xu Qi, Su Yi and I have inexplicably ended up in a cave. Do you have a way to save us?"
Xu Qi said calmly, "Don't rush, find a place to settle down first, and our staff will come over later."
Ji Lin'an said somewhat anxiously, "Okay, please do it as soon as possible."
After saying that, Xu Qi hung up the phone first. I looked at Ji Lin'an and shivered: "Are you alright? Are you very cold?"
Ji Lin'an shook his head: "It's alright, I can still hold on."
I picked up my phone: "I'll try going into my social media profile and find some clothes."
I opened the space and entered successfully. It seems that the Anywhere Door had failed. I searched around and found a box of Ji Lin'an's winter clothes. I took a set of Ji Lin'an's clothes and two down jackets, and also took some food and water out of the space.
Ji Lin'an saw me come out and said, "I've tried it. It seems that only your Anywhere Door doesn't work. All my skills work."
I handed the clothes to Ji Lin'an: "What's going on? Why is it that only my Anywhere Door doesn't work?"
As Ji Lin'an took off his clothes, he said, "Perhaps something in this cave is interfering, just like your skills can't directly enter G City."
I opened a water bottle and drank more than half of it in one gulp: "By the way, let's look for the clairvoyant and his crew. Maybe they can see where we are and come to rescue us."
Ji Lin'an changed his clothes and put the remaining down jacket on me: "Okay, I'll call him."
Ji Lin'an dialed Qianliyan's number, but no one answered. He then dialed Wufeng's and Weibin's numbers, but still no one answered. I felt strange.
I said dejectedly, "It seems we can only wait for Xu Qi to come and save us now."
