Chapter 260 He finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

The next morning, Li Chonghua was awakened by the sound of rain hitting the ground outside. As soon as he moved his body, he felt as if a heavy object was pressing on him, and his chest felt stuffy.

When he opened his eyes, Xu Hui's beautiful face was magnified in front of him, and he stared blankly for a moment. Memories of last night flooded his mind like a tide.

The rage made him blush from his neck to his entire face. He quickly looked away from Xu Hui's face, wanting to create some distance between them.

Xu Hui was practically leaning half her body against him, and no matter how he moved, he would wake her up.

There was nothing I could do but stare blankly at the ceiling with my stiff, numb body, feeling utterly lost and unreal.

Did he really touch Xu Hui's skin?

Xu Hui had gone to sleep earlier than him, and Li Chonghua helped with the cleanup afterwards, so she woke up not long afterward.

Hearing the abnormal breathing rate coming from beside her ear, she guessed that Li Chonghua must have woken up.

So she looked up at him with her beautiful eyes, yawned, and asked, "Aren't you going to sleep a little longer? You went to bed much later than me."

Compared to Li Chonghua, Xu Hui didn't feel nervous or awkward at all. She even managed to sit up halfway by supporting herself on his body and check the time on her smart bracelet.

It was 7:10 a.m., more than an hour before she had to go to work.

The room had air conditioning on, and the two of them were sharing the same blanket.

After Xu Hui sat up, the blanket covering her naturally slipped off due to inertia, startling Li Chonghua, who quickly reached out to hold it down and then sat up as well.

"Xiao Hui, you....."

He wanted to say something about why she wasn't more careful, but then he remembered that their relationship had changed after last night, so he quickly shut up, his ears burning red.

Xu Hui put down the smart bracelet, glanced at him again, and then noticed Li Chonghua's strange behavior.

She stared at his embarrassed expression in silence for a while before asking uncertainly, "Li Chonghua, don't tell me you haven't had a woman all these years?"

Otherwise, how could she be so innocent?

Over the years, under Qiao Ziming's suffocating control, she had almost no contact with Li Chonghua and therefore knew nothing about his past.

At most, I know that he's not married yet.

Even so, she felt that as a man full of vigor, Li Chonghua must have had women before.

But now........

Seeing Li Chonghua nod shyly, Xu Hui couldn't hide the surprise on her face: "Really? Why?"

She had a vague feeling that this matter might be related to her.

Sure enough, Li Chonghua soon lowered his head and revealed that he had only ever been interested in one woman over the years.

"Besides you, I don't want to see any other women, nor do I want to have any involvement with them. According to my original plan, I might have continued to live my whole life alone."

The subtext is that he originally intended to remain chaste for Xu Hui for the rest of his life.

Hearing this answer, Xu Hui's red eyes showed even more complicated emotions. She opened her mouth several times, but couldn't say anything.

Finally, still puzzled, he asked, "What is it about me that you like? Am I really that good?"

She was so good to him that he could only have eyes for her, and even in the decades after they stopped contacting each other, he remained the same.

Li Chonghua finally raised his head, and his eyes, which had been somewhat dull due to nearsightedness, suddenly became brighter and more determined: "Yes, of course you are that good. If you really want to know what I like about you, I have many answers, but you probably won't have the patience to listen to them all."

Xu Hui shook her head and denied it: "You can talk about it. There's still plenty of time. I can listen slowly."

Her main concern was how Li Chonghua perceived her.

With her encouragement, Li Chonghua looked away so Xu Hui could get dressed, and then began to recount: "Do you remember when we first started school, I was called a bookworm and a freak because I was obsessed with studying and not good at socializing?"

Hsu Hui had some recollection of this incident: "Yes, of course I remember. This was the beginning of our friendship. But to be honest, you were really hard to approach back then. I would often talk to myself, and you would at most give an 'hmm' in response. Most of the time, you wouldn't say anything."

Xu Hui was considered a very outgoing person back then, but in front of Li Chonghua, she was still influenced and dared not say too much.

Li Chonghua was aware of his shortcomings at the time, and after touching his nose in embarrassment, he apologized to Xu Hui.

"I'm sorry, I really didn't know how to communicate with people at the time, and I was afraid of saying the wrong thing, so I just stopped talking."

These are all old stories, and Xu Hui didn't take them to heart at all. She waved her hand to indicate that it was nothing: "Let's get back to the main topic. What does this have to do with you liking me?"

The two events are closely related, but perhaps for Xu Hui, Li Chonghua's presence in her eyes was not strong, which led her to not remember the events of that year at all.

Li Chonghua noticed this, but didn't complain. Instead, he patiently continued his explanation.

"Yes, back then, apart from you, no one was willing to talk to me or work with me on experiments. You would remember to talk to me on every holiday, give me gifts, and stand up for me when they bullied me. I remember all of this clearly."

So even after he and Xu Hui separated and he had no news of her for many years, he was able to fill the void in his heart by drawing on the beautiful memories she had given him in the past, and he maintained his passionate feelings for her for many years.

Xu Hui came from a good family, was beautiful, had good grades, and was very outgoing.

Wherever I go, I have a lot of friends.

She wanted to say that she had done these things to more than just Li Chonghua; in fact, anyone she included in her circle of friends would receive the same treatment from her.

But when she met Li Chonghua's restrained gaze, she ultimately didn't say anything that would spoil the mood, and felt deeply moved.

Later, Li Chonghua said many things that Xu Hui didn't take to heart at all, or that she hadn't thought of.

By the end, she was pretty sure that the man in front of her truly loved her, but he was just too bad at expressing himself, which was why they had wasted so many years of their relationship.

Fortunately, the final result was good; he finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

Time flies, and soon it was Qiao Yingying's birthday party.

Early that morning, Qiao Mei was urged by Xu Hui's personal computer phone to make sure she wasn't late.

Because if the Crown Prince goes, there's a 70-80% chance the Crown Princess will also go.

If you arrive late, it will be troublesome if she makes things difficult for you.
