Chapter 300 Song Zhenzhen?

The characteristic of merchants being greedy and easy targets hasn't changed to this day.

Shu Qingqing agreed wholeheartedly, but gave him a disdainful look: "When you actually earn money yourself, you'll know how hard it is to make money. Right now, it's not your money you earned, so of course you can spend it lavishly without any psychological pressure."

Shang Duojin wanted to refute, but didn't know where to begin, so he could only shut his mouth with a sullen expression and let Qiao Mei and Shu Qingqing lead the way.

The makeshift hospital was fairly large, but the sheer volume of people flooding in made it difficult for Qiao Mei and her team to know where to begin.

We could only follow the old-fashioned signs on the first floor to get to the hospital's archives.

Surprisingly, quite a few people came to this place. When they arrived, there were still patients arguing with the nurses.

"Why can't I take my medical records with me? If they're left here, it's not impossible that if I become famous someday, you could use my plastic surgery records to blackmail me for money. Hurry up and hand over my medical records!!"

The nurse was speechless: "The situation you described would absolutely not happen in our hospital. If you really want your medical records, we can provide you with a copy, but the originals need to be archived and cannot be taken away. This is also to prevent any unexpected situations from occurring, as the hospital reserves the right to make some interpretations. Please understand."

The patient was still going crazy: "Understand? Why can't I get my own medical records? Your hospital..."

Qiao Mei stopped listening to what the patient said after he went crazy.

However, this situation suggests that this shady hospital still has some integrity, as the medical records are still intact.

Shang Duojin and Shu Qingqing were still eating melon seeds, discussing the current situation as they ate.

Qiao Mei was a little speechless and interrupted them: "Stop gossiping, let's get down to business and see how we can get Wan Shishi's file."

As she spoke, she pulled up Wan Shishi's photo, scanned the surroundings, and finally settled on an older nurse who looked to be of a higher rank.

"Hello, I would like to ask if your hospital makes it convenient to access patient medical records?"

The old nurse didn't even look up, but stretched her right hand out to Qiao Mei: "If you're a patient, show me your hospitalization information, or a photocopy would be fine too."

Qiao Mei did neither of those things. She simply showed Wan Shishi's photo and said succinctly, "Take a look at this person. Can you get her medical records? If so, I certainly won't leave her without any thanks. As long as it's not too outrageous, I'll do my best."

The old nurse finally looked up and glanced at Qiao Mei.

Upon noticing that she was wearing a mask and sunglasses, and that two young people dressed similarly with their faces completely covered were following behind her, they immediately understood what was going on.

She stood up, took Wan Shishi's photo from Qiao Mei, and told them to follow her.

The senior nurses have the right to simply review past medical records, not to take them away.

After entering a quiet but dilapidated house, she sized up Qiao Mei and the others based on their overall demeanor and asked, "What's the minimum you can offer?"

Having spent many years in the workplace in her previous life, Qiao Mei could tell at a glance that this was probably not the first time the old nurse had done something like this.

After glancing at Shang Duojin, who was about to speak, and stopping him with a look, she didn't give the old nurse a specific amount first, but instead asked:

"How much did people usually pay when they came here to retrieve their medical records? We are still students and don't have much money. If the amount is too high, we won't waste your time."

Before coming to the shady hospital, Qiao Mei was afraid that they would be ripped off by the people there.

She had specifically asked Shang Duojin to change out of his designer clothes, so when she said that, the old nurse glanced at their ordinary attire and didn't suspect anything.

After frowning, he said, still unwilling to give up, "That's true, but accessing other people's medical records is against interstellar law. If you're only offering too little, it's not worth the risk for me, so of course that won't do."

Qiao Mei remained unmoved, while the inexperienced Shang Duojin and Shu Qingqing were getting a little anxious.

However, they had already heard about this situation from Qiao Mei before they came, so even though they were anxious, they still held back from speaking.

Instead, they all turned their gaze to Qiao Mei, waiting for her to make a move.

"Of course." Qiao Mei glanced at Shang Duojin and Shu Qingqing, and lied without batting an eye. "We were just afraid of this situation, so we specially pooled together three thousand interstellar coins. We don't know if it will work."

Three thousand yuan is the price of a single plastic surgery at this shady hospital, which is indeed a huge sum for Qiao Mei and her friends who are just students.

The older nurse wasn't satisfied and wanted to try and trick them.

But Qiao Mei wasn't flustered at all. No matter how she tried to probe, she kept saying that the three of them had only managed to scrape together that little bit of money.

“If this girl who had plastic surgery wasn’t my friend’s crush, we wouldn’t have come with him to investigate. He hates plastic surgery faces the most, but he also received news that the girl he had a crush on had been here, so he didn’t believe it and insisted on coming to verify it.”

After saying that, she glanced at Shang Duojin with a wistful look. Shang Duojin looked bewildered, but still pretended to cooperate: "Yes, if she really has a plastic surgery face, then I definitely can't agree. If I end up with her, the chances of our offspring being good-looking will definitely not be high."

Seeing that the group was talking amongst themselves and seemed quite knowledgeable, the old nurse could only sigh and give in.

"Alright then, if it weren't for the fact that you're all students, I definitely wouldn't be able to get your medical records for this little bit of money. But let's make this clear first, after you leave, don't tell anyone about the price I gave you today, or I'll never be able to do business here again."

Hearing these familiar words, Qiao Mei nodded obediently: "Of course, you can rest assured."

The old nurse, true to her profession of earning extra money, led Qiao Mei and the others through several roundabout routes before finally arriving at an underground archive room, where she helped them retrieve files related to Wan Shishi.

“Wan Shishi… why can’t we find anyone? But judging from this photo, there is indeed a record of information being entered. Little girl, come and take a look.”

Qiao Mei nodded and went to the old nurse's side, looking at the personal file displayed on the desktop computer.

The name is clearly marked on it as "Song Zhenzhen".

Shang Duojin was stunned: "Why is it Song Zhenzhen? Did your hospital make a mistake when entering the information?"

The older nurse said with absolute certainty, "Absolutely impossible! This requires registering a personal, real-name computer ID first, and that's her name!"
