"Something bad has happened?!" Qiao Mei was stunned, because she didn't remember this part of the plot in the original book.
My first thought was whether Xu Heyu, the male lead, would get involved.
Xu Heyu was indeed very good to her, and they were cousins, so she didn't want anything to happen to him. Therefore, she immediately called him by his personal terminal, but no one answered.
Shang Duojin also received the news at this moment. After reading it, seeing Qiao Mei's very concerned look, he patted her on the shoulder and comforted her:
"Don't worry, the Federal Academy is guarded by many soldiers of the Federal Army, and there are also top doctors there. Even if it really is your fiancé who is in trouble, the official report did not say that he died. It is estimated that he can still be saved."
Qiao Mei rolled her eyes at Shang Duojin: "You really know how to comfort people."
What's the difference between trying to save someone and someone who's about to die?
As she spoke, she pulled up a map of the Federal Academy and headed towards the place Xu Heyu had told her he was staying. After Shang Duojin followed, she reminded him, "Also, Xu Heyu and I only have a verbal betrothal, not a written engagement. We're not considered engaged, so don't call him that anymore."
It was less that she felt uncomfortable listening to it, but more importantly...
The girl lowered her red eyes to look at the little black dragon wrapped around her neck, and silently added a sentence in her heart.
She was also afraid that her husband, Cangcang, would misunderstand that she liked someone else, which of course wouldn't do.
Shang Duojin assumed that Qiao Mei was just shy and didn't think much of it. He casually said that he knew and then followed Qiao Mei to the combat teaching building where Xu Heyu and other second-year students from the Federation were waiting.
When the two arrived at the location, other candidates who had already passed the basic exam had already surrounded the teaching building with a huge crowd. There were yellow and white warning tapes, and the interstellar police were pulling them apart to surround a place splattered with blood.
Qiao Mei looked into the distance, and then precisely located the tall, handsome, blue-eyed young man among the crowd. She waved to him.
It was then that she noticed that Xu Heyu and some other people dressed in similar gray and white uniforms were being questioned by the interstellar police. None of them were wearing quantum computers on their wrists, presumably because they had been confiscated.
Xu Heyu also saw Qiao Mei, waved back, and mouthed "Wait for me" to her.
Seeing that he was alright, Qiao Mei breathed a sigh of relief and nodded to indicate that she understood.
Afterwards, through Shang Duojin's strong social skills, he roughly understood what had just happened.
It is said that for some unknown reason, a male senior in his second year of university suddenly convulsed after drinking water, and then his body exploded, with blood and some organs splattering everywhere.
Furthermore, it was said that after his body exploded, something resembling a space monster larva appeared for a moment, but quickly turned into a puddle of water. It was impossible to determine whether the witness was seeing things or whether a space monster larva had actually appeared.
Qiao Mei checked the interstellar encyclopedia and found that there is indeed a type of insect-like monster among the interstellar monsters.
Although this insect may seem to have the lowest combat power and be the most inconspicuous among all the interstellar monsters, and can be easily killed with a light gun, it is still very dangerous.
It's somewhat like the parasites that Qiao Mei encountered in modern times that could kill animals.
“But I remember that there haven’t been any interstellar monster invasions on planets like the Federation and the Empire for over ten years. How come this has suddenly happened, especially in the Federation Academy that I want to get into? It’s really creepy!” After saying this, Shang Duojin rubbed the goosebumps on his arms and hugged the little green snake Leiting tightly.
Qiao Mei didn't feel anything, perhaps because she wasn't actually a character in the book and only had a vague understanding of the existence of interstellar monsters.
Ignorance breeds fearlessness.
Just then, Ao Cang's deep voice rang out, saying to her, "If you get closer to the scene of the incident, I might be able to make some unusual discoveries."
Ao Cang is a dragon god, unlike ordinary sacred beasts, which Qiao Mei also knows.
After listening to what he said, he led Shang Duojin toward the scene of the incident and stopped outside a cordon where bloodstains were clearly visible.
"This is the best we can go. See if you can sense anything."
The man and the dragon spoke in hushed tones, almost like whispers, so Shang Duojin couldn't hear them. Puzzled, he asked, "Why did you come here? I don't want to see anything too bloody."
While waiting for Ao Cang's response, Qiao Mei complained about Shang Duojin: "Didn't you claim to be the last savior of the universe? Would a savior be afraid of bloodshed?"
"This, cough cough..." Shang Duojin felt a little guilty and was thinking about how to refute her when he caught a glimpse of Shu Qingqing coming towards them. His round eyes lit up instantly and he waved to Shu Qingqing.
"Over here, over here."
Qiao Mei looked in the direction Shang Duojin was waving and saw Shu Qingqing walking over with a serious expression, as if she had something very important to tell them.
So he suppressed the urge to complain about Shang Duojin and waited for Shu Qingqing to come over.
Just then, Ao Cang also made a discovery when Shu Qingqing arrived in front of them.
"I think I can smell the scent of the Gang Stone."
