Chapter 3 Carbon-based Organisms Rich in Protein

Yi Nanping's men were filled with disbelief.

"Lieutenant Yi, these tentacle monsters are clearly the 'relic species' that can infect and parasitize humans! When will they be killed by bullets?!"

"Yes, Lieutenant Yi, doesn't it say that if you encounter special creatures related to the 'relic species', you must call for support from your superiors and have powerful psychics with high genetic evolution levels take action?"

Yi Nanping recalled his last painful experience battling these "survivors" with his mental strength. He rubbed his nose with his hand and said dissatisfiedly, "You are not analyzers, how can you conclude that it was killed by a bullet?"

"One team will go in and use instruments to search to determine if there are any surviving species left."

"Team Two will conduct an ordnance inspection to see if they can find the person who did this."

He gave orders in an orderly manner.

"Yes, Lieutenant Yi!"

These people are the regular troops that Ye Shijie mentioned.

Just looking at the large bomb-laden drones that surrounded the sky above the six-story building, it was clear that these people's instruments and equipment were obviously much better than those of hunters like Ye Shijie.

Under Yi Nanping's command, a group of people wearing black protective suits entered the room with instruments.

The second group, wearing camouflage uniforms, carried instruments to inspect the remnants of ordnance on the open space in front of the building.

Five minutes later, a team of officers emerged from the room, gesturing, "Lieutenant Yi, we've checked everything. There are only four traffickers left in the room, all killed by a single gunshot wound, with no trace of the remaining human ancestry. There are also 23 abducted victims, all deceased, with no trace of the remaining human ancestry."

Yi Nanping frowned, walked over to the human skin on the ground, and wondered, "Could this be the only one who was planted with the seed of relic? What a pity, he was beaten like this."

A group of members wearing black protective suits bent down and put away the sieved human skin as important evidence.

Another ordnance inspection technician said to Yi Nanping, "Captain, after inspection, the bullet casings on the ground are all 085 and 093 bullets produced by Zong's Military Industry this year. In addition to equipping the military, only a few organizations in the country can legally purchase these two types of bullets."

Yi Nanping sneered, "In the Beichen Empire, we control guns, but not bullets. Zong's military-made bullets are available to anyone with money, so how can they be legal?"

His men were used to being told off without a word.

Yi Nanping squatted down and stared at the thickest part of the tentacle remaining among the bullet shells on the ground.

The tentacle was charred black by the gunpowder of the bullet, like a burnt octopus leg, but much larger in size, a burnt geoduck octopus leg.

His eyes were sharp as he stared at the tentacle, as if he wanted to use his eyes as an analyzer to analyze the structure of the tentacle.

He did use mental detection, but found nothing.

This tentacle stump burned by ammunition is dead beyond dead. Its material structure is no different from the seafood that humans eat.

The only conclusion we can draw is that they are all carbon-based organisms and are equally rich in protein.

Yi Nanping slowly stood up, frowned, and said, "Are there no living tentacles?"

He still held a glimmer of hope, because according to their previous experience, the tentacles generated by these relic species are very tenacious and can regenerate even if only a small piece of cell tissue is left.

However, the results of this investigation do not support this conclusion.

"…Reporting to the captain, it has been confirmed that there are no survivors. They are all dead at the cellular level."

"What a pity." Yi Nanping sighed again.

His men placed the charred tentacles into translucent evidence bags and said, "In recent years, there have been three cases of tentacle monsters injuring people."

"No one has ever been able to defeat them with conventional weapons, because their mental attacks are incredibly powerful and bizarre. Even at a low level, for us humans, even peak C-level mentalists are unable to withstand them, and of course, we can't retaliate with conventional weapons."

"If the test results this time can prove that they were indeed killed by conventional weapons, that would be very exciting news."

"Yes, of the previous times, only once did Lieutenant Yi survive for about a week by grabbing a tentacle. So far, the only word I've learned from it is 'relic species'."

"This time, the tentacle monsters were stronger than the previous ones, but they were all killed. What a pity."

Yi Nanping stood with his hands behind his back, looking up at the night sky and muttering, "If only we had come a minute earlier... If we had come a minute earlier, we could at least have gotten a living tentacle monster."

"Or maybe we can find out who was so cruel as to use conventional weapons to beat a relic species that requires high-level mental power to destroy into seafood..."

When his men heard the word "seafood", their expressions suddenly became strange, as if they were feeling aggrieved and wanted to vomit but couldn't.

I guess everyone won’t want to eat seafood for a long time...

Yi Nanping didn't think so much.

He frowned, walked into the room and carefully explored it, then came out and looked around, while also looking at the open space in front of the building and the surrounding environment within a radius of one thousand meters.

The special glasses attached to his helmet are like a high-powered computer that can record the surrounding environment and upload it to the mechanical intelligent system in the cloud for high-powered modeling, which enables better data analysis.

He then gave the order, "Take away everything here, including the bullet casings and tentacle remains on the ground. Have the local correctional department notify the parents who reported the case and ask them to come and claim these deceased abducted victims. This building must be completely sealed off, and all residents must evacuate."
