That day, Qiao Jingjing's sister-in-law, Sun Shangxiang, came to visit, and also saw A Shao.
The younger sister-in-law probably just said it casually, suggesting that Madam Gu take Ah Shao for a walk in the garden and see the carp in the pond.
Madam Gu had long wanted to curry favor with her sister-in-law, Sun Shangxiang.
Unfortunately, Sun Shangxiang had always been clinging to Da Qiao, so she never had a chance.
Today, for some reason, Da Qiao stayed in her room and didn't go out. Lady Gu felt that her opportunity had come.
After tidying up three-year-old Xiao Ashao and taking Zimi with her, Madam Gu really went with her sister-in-law.
Sun Shangxiang wanted to see the carp, and later Lady Gu, just like Qiao Jingjing, accompanied her sister-in-law to see the carp.
Sun Shangxiang said that it was early spring, and there were already some small shrimp and tiny fish in the water.
Ah Shao heard this and wanted to see it too.
But it was still boring.
Sun Shangxiang found Lady Gu boring.
She only had this fleeting interest before quickly moving on, sneaking back to her mother's room to eat pastries.
Later, Madam Gu was still by the pond, gazing intently at the fish in the water.
Her husband doesn't like her.
Even her sister-in-law doesn't like her!
Hmph, this family really has a complete set of siblings.
Look at these fish swimming so happily and freely in the water.
Doesn't she resemble this fish? Her husband is like this pool of water.
Fish cannot live without water, but water can exist without fish.
She can't live without him, but he might not need her.
She had heard that fish have no memory and forget things in a short while.
I wish she could be like this fish, forgetting those things once they're over.
Madam Gu was lost in thought and couldn't hear the cat-like footsteps behind her.
By the water, Ah Shao, held in his wet nurse's arms, watched a group of small shrimp eating withered leaves in the water.
Ah Shao clapped his little hands loudly.
"Clap clap clap! Laugh laugh laugh! You're the funniest. Your short-lived mother died, leaving me with this mess to clean up..."
Lady Gu cursed inwardly.
Yet, in front of others, she smiles with kindness and warmth.
"Shao, do you like the little fish? You do? Mommy will bring you to play again tomorrow, okay?"
A footstep approached, like a ghost.
She suddenly appeared and shoved Hou Gu Shi hard from behind.
Just as Gu Shi fell into the pool, Zi Mi panicked and was about to shout, but was knocked unconscious by the man.
The wet nurse, holding Ah Shao, was in a panic and about to run away.
But the man grabbed them in a few quick movements and threw them into the water.
Madam Gu couldn't swim, so she fell into the water and struggled violently for a few moments before sinking.
The wet nurse had raised Ah Shao for several years and couldn't bear to part with the child. Even though she was drowning and choking, she held the child up tightly, keeping his head above water.
Ah Shao's cries could be heard.
