☆、The man in the painting

All I heard was a long gurgling sound coming from the bright white ball, and then it became completely quiet, as if nothing had happened. It was still a rich, bright white ball.

"No?" Ning Que stood there and watched quietly.

Honghong wrapped it around her finger affectionately, and suddenly she burped. A trickle of blood flowed down, dripping in and instantly eroding a hole, revealing the label of the condiment inside.

"Uh, Haitian soy sauce."

After Ning Que returned, a soft laugh was heard from the edge, followed by the wailing and sobbing of an animal.

On the second day, a sumptuous breakfast was already placed on the long table on the first floor. The steaming smoke distorted everyone's faces. After greeting people they knew, many people sat down as usual, and each piece of delicious food was stuffed into their fat bellies.

A yawn like an air raid siren came from the stairs. Ning Que had changed into a set of sportswear and a pair of thick coral fleece socks on his feet, which was very inconsistent with the others.

The originally joyful breakfast time seemed to have been paused. Everyone stared blankly at the woman in front of them until she said, "Why, do you still want me to feed you?"

At this moment, Ning Que seemed to hear a laugh and immediately looked around, but he only had time to see the half-open mouth in the self-portrait and the accumulated laugh lines at the corners of the eyes.

She looked at the portrait on the wall, her eyes lingering on it for a long time before she slowly sat down.

Everyone began to eat rustling and shivering, like little mice stealthily nibbling at crumbs. After watching Ning Que finish his meal, they let out a long sigh and began to whisper among themselves.

"Isn't this woman quite normal? What they said last night was true or not."

"It's really possible. Who would spread rumors about the death of someone around them? Isn't that just asking people to stay away from you? What if one day you want to kill someone?"

The originally lively conversation died down in an instant. The man seemed to realize that he had said something wrong and fell silent. Fortunately, someone nearby tried to smooth things over.

"Hahaha, everyone eat, everyone eat. When the task is released is all up to the house. We have no choice. We can only blame ourselves for being unlucky."

The atmosphere began to liven up again, but everyone had their own plans in mind.

The morning was very quiet. Except for Ning Que occasionally wandering around the two frightened men, he stayed in the room for the rest of the time. No one knew what he was doing.

Ning Que crossed his legs and moved the pen in his hand back and forth on his fingertips.

That half-man, half-woman must have had his reasons for keeping these people here. And before I entered the painting, the man was gesturing at me with a pen, and he seemed to have some bad thoughts about me. Tsk.

Ah, such inhuman thoughts are indeed beyond the comprehension of a normal person like me.

Then let me solve it from my normal perspective! I don't believe that he would let me stay here even if I demolish this place.

Ning Que shook the bell in his hand. After a while, Chao Feng knocked on the door twice, and after getting permission, he stood in front of her.

"Take down those paintings on the ground on the first floor and wash them. They feel very dirty and are an eyesore to me!" Ning Que's tone was indulgent, but the expression on his face was that of a ruffian, as if saying, "If you don't agree, I will use my fists to make you agree."

Chaofeng lowered his head slightly, his tone still steady, "This request is inappropriate, I'm sorry I can't fulfill it."

"Then gather everyone together, I want to see them dance!"

"This request is inappropriate and cannot be fulfilled."

"Then I want to tear down all the stairs and install a slide." Ning Que just finished speaking when he raised an eyebrow and said sarcastically, "This request is inappropriate and cannot be completed. So tell me, what can you do?"

Chaofeng still looked wooden, "Only if the house allows it and it does not harm the interests of others, I have the right to complete it."

"Oh, is that so? Then I'll let you die, okay?" Ning Que's casual words did not move Chao Feng at all.

At this moment, a red thread quietly crawled from under the carpet, along his trouser legs and drilled into his nostrils. After seeing him twitch, Ning Que immediately took the glass fruit plate that he had placed behind him and smashed it on the back of his head.

Seeing him fall backwards like a log, Ning Que grabbed the small coffee table next to him and smashed it against him several times. Suddenly, he heard a crackling sound of electricity running around, and finally, he fell to the ground like a rag doll, motionless.

Ning Que straightened his back and when he wanted to lift him up, he found that he was a little tired. When he stuffed him into the closet, he didn't know whether the house would turn him into spring mud to protect the flowers.

Photo frames of all sizes are lined up on the wall, like small houses on a long and narrow road, or like similar tombstones neatly arranged in a cemetery.

The raised patterns on the wall were like vines, spreading upward from the bottom and clinging tightly to each photo frame.

Ning Que looked at the painting in front of him. The deep blue eyes, the messy and towering brown hair, the hooked nose, and the deep nasolabial folds on his face made him appear vividly in the painting.

"Stop pretending. I saw you blinking before."

There were few people in the hall in the afternoon. The few people who saw Ning Que there slipped away as if they were avoiding a flood or a beast, and no one knew where they were.

The portrait hanging in the far right corner of the wall, illuminated by the light, had the luster of an oil painting. Yet, thoughts seemed to surge in his eyes, and his azure pupils seemed to have a river flowing through them.

Ning Que left and went into the kitchen to get a pair of scissors and carefully looked at the part where the photo frame was glued to the wall, as if he was thinking about where to start.

"Here, see? This is a pair of scissors. Anyway, I don't know where you are from, so I will definitely not speak your native dialect. It doesn't matter whether you understand it or not. I will only say it this time." Then Ning Que said nothing else and poked his eyeballs with the scissors.

"Stop! What are you doing?" Mr. Si yelled at him from the stairs.

Ning Que continued to stab without stopping until another sound was heard and the tip of the scissors stopped 0.01 centimeters away.

"Luckily you shouted in time, otherwise I wouldn't know if I could stop in time."

"North!" The trembling voice was getting closer and closer. I saw Mr. Si rushing over quickly, protecting the foreign old man behind him like a mother animal protecting her cub.

North was more lively and blinked, "You have quite good eyesight, little girl."

Ning Que shamelessly accepted the compliment, "Well, you're the one who got swallowed by the void at the stairs!"

Mr. Si was a little surprised and kept rubbing his fingers.

"Are you the only one alive here? Or have the others not woken up yet?" Ning Que asked this question.

"My consciousness is here. After I fell into the void that day, I vaguely saw my pregnant lover behind a glass door. Then there were large patches of white light and doctors in blue surgical gowns. At that time, I thought my consciousness was trapped here. In that trance, I seemed to see large blooming blood flowers, and then a voice in my heart urged me to leave quickly. Then, there was nothing."

The mustache on his lips swayed up and down as he spoke. "Then when I woke up, I found myself turned into a painting."

Ning Que lowered his head, as if thinking about something. After a long while, he spoke again, "Has your consciousness always been in this painting?"

Snow spoke as if he was letting go, "It's always been like this, watching people coming and going here, as generations of old people leave and new people come in, generation after generation. It's really boring."

Suddenly, he showed a painful expression, and red marks appeared on his white skin. Ning Que quickly used scissors to dig the photo frame out of the wall.

The squirming white ball tried desperately to shrink back when it saw the light, but Ning Que plucked half of it out with a pair of scissors and whispered softly, "Tell that person, I miss him a little bit."

Then he immediately turned around and smashed the picture frame in his hand on Si Lao's head, saying, "Sorry!"

Snow immediately exclaimed, "Oh my god! My God, what are you doing?"

Ning Que asked Honghong to pack up Si Lao immediately, then returned to his room, opened the wardrobe, and saw Chao Feng still lying on the ground. He confidently pressed Si Lao on him, and the wardrobe fell into darkness again.

The door of Ning Que's room kept going in and out, opening and closing. She was like a hardworking ant carrying her own food.

"1, 2, 3...12, forget it, I'm going to sleep, I'll catch it tomorrow!" Ning Que twisted his waist and prepared to go downstairs for dinner.

There was still the same food on the long table as yesterday. Ning Que thought about the people in his room, resigned himself to his fate, tore off a piece of tablecloth, grabbed a few pieces of bread and some fruits and stuffed them into his bag.

Everything was quiet upstairs, and suddenly the door opened. Even though Ning Que hadn't opened the doorknob yet, the door just opened.

Not good, are those people awake? That won't happen, Honghong won't be such a loser.

Ning Que, carrying a table full of food across his shoulder, cautiously stepped into the room, only to see a handsome man sitting on the bed.

Hair dripping with water, a face as delicate as marble, a towel draped over the shoulders, well-defined texture and alternating fat and lean flesh hidden under the half-open shirt, black suit pants, no, what is this grey thing?

Underwear!

Ning Que took a step forward. The handsome guy thought she had surrendered to his beauty. When he opened his arms to hold her in his arms, he found that Ning Que was looking at him with a strange expression.

"Tsk tsk tsk, you're such a grown man, but you can't even wear your pants properly." Ning Que said as he pulled up his pants with one hand to cover his grey underwear. He threw the bag into the closet and turned around to see him lying on his bed.

Ning Que rushed over and picked him up, "What are you doing? You're lying on my bed with your hair dry. Go away, don't get in my way. Go back to where you came from."

Then, I heard the door close with a bang, and nothing happened.

Ning Que rolled up the quilt and was about to throw it out when he opened the door. He found piles of gold piled up like a small mountain at the door of his room, and the handsome man was sitting next to him in a very showy manner.

"Beauty, do you like it?"

"dislike!"

A thick quilt covered all of this, and then the door was closed heavily.

Handsome guy: ...Am I so unattractive?

Gold: ...really treats money as dirt.

The door opened again. Ning Que was followed by Xiao Li. She gestured with her chin to the gold on the ground and said, "Pack all this gold. I'll take half of it, and the other half will be yours. Oh, and by the way, this man is yours too."

Xiao Li touched the back of his head which still hurt, looked at the gold, then looked at the man, then looked at the closed door, sighed deeply, and sat on the gold.

Suddenly, hard objects began to rise from his body, growing larger and larger until they formed hills on his skin, and his skin turned the same color as gold. Xiao Li's eyes widened, and he couldn't say a word. Finally, his limbs froze in place, and he turned into a golden man.

The handsome guy sat there for a while, took out a brush from his wrist, and touched Xiao Li's open mouth. The whole golden statue shattered into small pieces and fell on the original pile of gold with a crackling sound.

The man seemed to think it was uninteresting, twirling the pen in his hand. A moment later, he had drawn another bouquet of roses on the ground. The bright, delicate roses were placed in beige wrapping paper and thoughtfully tied with a bow.

He bent down and picked up the bouquet of roses on the ground, walked casually to the door, and knocked. The door didn't open. After waiting for a while, he continued to knock on the door, knocking at a frequency of about once every five minutes.

After a while, there was a thumping sound. The door opened, and Ning Que's face, furious at having his sleep interrupted, appeared at the doorway. Without a word, he forcefully pulled the man's arm, walked to the stairs, pushed at the white mass, clapped his hands, and went back.

The next day, when the hands on the alarm clock were still pointing to four o'clock, Ning Que was awakened by the deafening noise downstairs. The door of his wardrobe was wide open, and the door of his room was also open. The dark room and the bright environment outside formed a sharp dividing line.

She walked barefoot on the soft carpet, looking at the piano that came from nowhere in the corner of the hall. There was a person sitting on the piano chair in front of it, playing the piano.

Chang Zuo leaned against the wall. The center had become a dance floor, where couples of men and women embraced and danced. Some men's hands and feet were tied with red ropes, like ridiculous dwarfs being swung around by women.

The crack in the wall from yesterday was still there, and the white mass was wriggling there as if it had life, but it seemed to be afraid of something outside, so it huddled there like an egg tart.

Ning Que stood there and thought for a while. It seemed that the demolition work had to be brought forward. He went downstairs silently and walked through the dancing crowd.

All the men wore perfect smiles, each with exactly eight teeth. Their dancing was flawless, and they coordinated with their partners expertly. The only flaw was the deep fear in their eyes.
