Chapter 13: Not a Showman
Children always speak without restraint.
Jiang Zhiyue was amused and touched her head.
At this time, the nurse in the classroom heard the sound and ran out, saying in surprise: "Xiaodie, why did you run out?"
The little girl lowered her eyes and whispered, "It's too boring to stay in the classroom. I'm uncomfortable... I don't want to stay in the classroom all the time."
The nurse was as if facing a great enemy. "Today is a very important day. The director has told you not to run around."
The little girl bit her lips and stopped talking.
Jiang Zhiyue understood, "It's not the donation day yet, are the wealthy businessmen coming to do charity today?"
The orphanage needs support from all sectors of society to survive. On certain days every year, wealthy businessmen will gather reporters to report on their charity work. The director is worried that disabled children will scare the rich, so on donation days, he will not let them show up.
"No." The nurse explained, "It seems that some important person is coming."
There are so many important people in Brandenburg, and people come to show their love every few days. Jiang Zhiyue didn't take it seriously. After applying the medicine, she saw that the little girl was depressed, so she told her that she would teach her to play the piano later. Only then did the little girl smile.
Jiang Zhiyue pushed the wheelchair and took her into the classroom.
So she didn't know that at this moment, across the corridor, there was a man standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window opposite, seeing the entire scene.
The sunlight outside the window shone through the thick glass onto the man's face, interweaving into a semi-bright and semi-dark light and shadow.
He turned slightly sideways, and most of his face fell into darkness.
The dean, along with a group of leaders, accompanied the man and called out cautiously, "Mr. Qin."
Qin Si raised his eyes slightly, his handsome face looked serious and cold.
He was elegantly dressed and did not look like someone who was here to do charity work, but rather like a high-ranking official on an inspection tour.
"I just received a call. Miss Bai said there was a traffic jam on the road and she will be here soon." said the dean.
Qin Si was indifferent.
Like Gu Zhaoye, he has no empathy and doesn't like to show off.
They exist in the glamorous world of fame and fortune, and cannot see, nor do they want to see, the sufferings of the world.
Bai Yanzhu offered to ask him to accompany her to the orphanage.
She bought a lot of gifts from abroad and gave them to these children who had lost their parents. She would prepare surprises for the children every Children's Day.
Qin Si didn't want to come.
But the reporters got the news and the show had to go on.
Qin's father was worried that Qin Si would escape halfway, so he specially sent an assistant to follow him.
Assistant Li lowered his head and stood aside, not daring to act rashly.
Qin Si didn't speak, and no one dared to speak.
He looked at the corridor opposite, and the dean said, "That was Miss Jiang just now. Miss Jiang went to the disabled area. The children there are all born with disabilities, missing arms and legs..."
"Did I ask you?" Qin Si's voice was cold and unkind.
The dean had lived for a long time and had seen people who liked to show off and were hypocritical, but he had never seen such a cold person. He was like an iceberg, with no expression on his face and looked lifeless.
He just felt bored, so he lit a cigarette, and stood by the window smoking in a lazy and elegant posture, puffing out smoke very skillfully.
The dean moved his lips but said nothing.
Smoking is prohibited in all areas and places around children, but this is obviously not effective for someone like Qin Si.
He is very frugal with words and doesn't like to talk.
This is different from the nobles the dean has come into contact with. They seem to have excellent etiquette and manners, but they don't even bother to save face.
The atmosphere was depressing and everyone felt that time was particularly long.
Suddenly, a toy ball rolled to Qin Si's feet.
The dean's face changed and he glanced at the staff beside him in a reproachful manner. They could tell at a glance that these were children's toys. He had already warned them to keep the children under control and not let them run around. These nobles were more rule-abiding than the others and they could not be offended.
Not far away, a child in a wheelchair lost his grip on the toy in his hand and accidentally dropped the toy ball to Qin Si's feet.
The man looked as if he wanted to keep strangers away, with no expression on his face.
The child pouted and almost cried out of fear.
The staff stepped forward to pick up the ball, but Qin Si was one step faster than them and bent down to pick up the toy ball.
Just when everyone was surprised by Qin Si's behavior and thought he was kind-hearted, they saw him wave his hand, motioning the little boy to come closer.
The nurse pushed the little boy over, and Qin Si reached out and returned the toy ball to the little boy. The little boy widened his eyes, seeming surprised by the man's behavior, "Thank you..." Big brother.
The little boy's voice was very low, and before he could finish his words, just as he carefully reached out his hand to touch the toy ball, he saw Qin Si retract his hand and throw the toy ball out of the window.
He smiled.
This smile made everyone present feel a little creepy, and Assistant Li couldn't help but groan inwardly.
Young Master Qin is the most terrifying one.
His harshness was not just directed at certain individuals; he attacked everyone indiscriminately, even children.
The little boy couldn't hold back and burst into tears. The director was worried that his crying would annoy Qin Si, so he immediately asked the nurse to push him away.
"Sister Xiaoyue, wow!" The little boy cried out of breath, "That is, that is the gift that Sister Xiaoyue gave me! Why did big brother throw away my gift..."
He was crying so loudly and sadly that he couldn't stop.
The crying sound attracted Jiang Zhiyue, she pushed open the classroom door and walked over.
Qin Si flicked the ash off his cigarette and saw her as soon as he turned sideways. His brows were slightly frowned and his eyes looked down at her.
Jiang Zhiyue also saw him, and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.
Qin Si and Gu Zhaoye are the same. To be precise, people in Gu Zhaoye's circle are a bunch of people without empathy. Even if the world is destroyed, they will not do good things. In all these years, she has never seen Qin Si in the orphanage.
Although she was very surprised, Jiang Zhiyue did not want to greet him. She lowered her head and stood next to the nurse to reduce her presence as much as possible. She and the dean coaxed the little boy and took him into the classroom.
Qin Si exhaled a puff of smoke, his face hidden in the mist. His expression was cold, but his penetrating eyes were fixed on the girl.
"Does she come here often?" He extinguished the cigarette in his hand, flicked the butt away, and sneered with disdain.
The director was stunned for a moment, then quickly reacted and said, "Mr. Qin, are you referring to Miss Jiang? Yes, Miss Jiang is a frequent visitor to the orphanage. She comes to accompany the children during festivals. She remembers every child's birthday, and the children like her very much."
"oh?"
Qin Si pulled his lips, "Then she looks really kind."
The dean couldn't guess the man's mind, nor did she dare to guess what he was thinking. Although she was very confused about Qin Si's question, Zhiyue seemed to have nothing to do with Qin Si, and the two of them should not know each other.
She looked at the time and estimated that Bai Yanzhu would be here soon, so she said goodbye to Qin Si and hurried downstairs to greet her.
"Mr. Qin..."
Assistant Li stepped forward and reminded quietly: "The head of the family has instructed that you must get along well with Miss Bai today."
