Chapter 98 The concert is about to begin, where are you going?
At 8:30 in the evening, the Santoria Theater stood like a shining pearl on the banks of the Xiangwan River in the eastern part of Monte State.
Jiang Zhiyue changed into a light and inconspicuous white long dress. Gu Zhaoye was very dissatisfied with this and asked her if she had any objection to the style he chose?
"Red has a sense of stealing the show," Jiang Zhiyue told him.
Gu Zhaoye curled his lips. In his eyes, Bai Yanzhu was not the heroine. Jiang Zhiyue was just pretty.
He refused the doorman's offer to park and parked his car directly in the parking lot. Jiang Zhiyue knew what he wanted to do.
Gu Zhaoye has never had much patience. He didn't force himself on her in the swimming pool. She was already about to explode with his patience. He thought he had taken her feelings into consideration, and she should compensate him.
She really didn't give him any benefits, and Gu Zhaoye didn't know what he would do. It was always others who flattered and accommodated him, and satisfied him, instead of him condescending to make compromises.
The girl had her hair tied up, making her face look even smaller and more delicate. Her eyelashes were thick and curled and felt furry. She looked well-behaved and docile, and Gu Zhaoye liked her appearance very much.
He kissed her face, but Jiang Zhiyue dodged. He then held her face in his hands and pressed his lips against hers again for a long, deep kiss, with most of his body weight pressing against her. Jiang Zhiyue pushed him hard, stopping his behavior and reminding him that this was a public place.
Gu Zhaoye grabbed her hand, panting, his eyes filled with unsatisfied gloom, "If you try to avoid me again, I'll kill you right here."
After saying that, he leaned over domineeringly and kissed her again.
"Don't make excuses to me anymore. I will consider your feelings and stop while I am ahead."
When it was over, he opened the car door, took her hand and got out, then got into the elevator.
Gu Zhaoye went through the back door. The main entrance was crowded with luxury cars. The main road all the way to the stage was covered with a clean and soft red carpet, and both sides of the red carpet were filled with Brandenburg media reporters.
The magnificent theater was filled with dignitaries who had come to support Bai Yanzhu. Thousands of crystal chandeliers overhead sparkled, and the scene was gorgeous and extravagant.
As a guest invited by Bai Yanzhu, waiters in uniform were waiting at the elevator door early to lead Gu Zhaoye to the designated seat.
Jiang Zhiyue let go of his hand in the elevator and silently took a few steps back. Gu Zhaoye knew that she did this to avoid trouble, so he suppressed his displeasure and didn't care.
This is a high-standard private concert. Every guest has a fixed seat. The seat arrangement is linked to status and position. The theater uses multiple island stands. The more distinguished the person, the higher the viewing position.
Jiang Zhiyue walked upstairs and saw at a glance that Gu Zhaoye's seat was arranged together with Qin Si and others. She also saw a look of embarrassment on the waiter's face.
She understood what the other party meant - she was not invited and there was no place for her here.
Gu Zhaoye grabbed the waiter by the collar and said coldly: "You'd better give me an explanation."
The waiter was terrified: "Gu... Mr. Gu, this was arranged by the Bai family. We don't have the ability to do this."
Gu Zhaoye didn't care about anything else and went to find Bai Yanzhu by pulling the waiter's tie.
Jiang Zhiyue lowered her head and finally breathed a sigh of relief. She finally had a good excuse to leave. Gu Zhaoye was a stubborn person who refused to listen to advice. No matter how many times she told him that she was not suitable to be here, he would not believe it.
Only if he saw the truth with his own eyes would he not vent his anger on her because of her refusal.
More and more people came into the hall, and while Gu Zhaoye was dealing with something, Jiang Zhiyue quietly slipped away.
The theater was very large, with maze-like corridors and waiters guiding the way everywhere. Jiang Zhiyue remembered the way she came here, and she wanted to leave through the back door so that no one would know she had been there.
She was dressed inconspicuously, and no one noticed her presence among the glamorous celebrities.
Jiang Zhiyue pressed the elevator button and looked back a few times, worried that Gu Zhaoye would catch up with her. Although the possibility was very small, occasions like this were his home court and he had to deal with all kinds of people who came to talk to him.
The elevator rose from the underground parking lot. Jiang Zhiyue looked at the slowly jumping numbers. With a ding, the elevator door opened and someone walked out.
She followed him in, but only took one step.
Xiao Jingrun was wearing a snug black suit, standing in the middle of a group of people, with a few followers following behind him. Next to him stood a few middle-aged men who looked like they had a strong artistic aura, and seemed to be talking to him about something.
Xiao Jingrun switched languages randomly, with a faint smile on his face all the time, appearing very calm.
Jiang Zhiyue didn't want to meet his gaze head-on, and there was no place to hide.
"President." She could only shout out loud.
Who could have thought that she would meet Xiao Jingrun? She suddenly had a bad feeling in her heart.
"Student Jiang Zhiyue?" Xiao Jingrun smiled gently, looking like an elegant gentleman.
He didn't seem surprised that she was here, and asked, "The concert is about to start, where are you going?"
"Go downstairs to get something." Jiang Zhiyue made up an excuse.
"Oh?" Xiao Jingrun narrowed his eyes slightly. Although he didn't say anything, his eyes with unfathomable emotions just glanced at her.
Jiang Zhiyue lowered her head, waiting for Xiao Jingrun to pass by. Unexpectedly, the man walked a few steps and turned back and said, "I saw the children from the orphanage coming. The director seemed overwhelmed and sent some servants to help her. But it might be better for you to go over. After all, you are familiar with the children, right?"
"There are extra seats over there, kids. You play the piano well, so you can stay and listen."
His insight was so strong, it was like being stripped naked and standing in front of him, with no secrets at all.
Jiang Zhiyue didn't like this feeling.
The man was calm and dignified, with an elegant smile on his face. He continued to communicate with the people next to him. After he walked away, Jiang Zhiyue could still hear a few words, "That girl? I think she's pretty good too. She's the best girl in Wharton College."
Jiang Zhiyue stood at the elevator entrance, and she soon understood why Xiao Jingrun said that. The children in the orphanage all took the elevator from the back door.
The director brought volunteers, greeted the children, and had attendants helping them push wheelchairs. It was very noisy and busy. In such an atmosphere and luxurious and dazzling scene, the children's disabled limbs looked like aliens.
Even though the children were dressed appropriately, a pungent smell of medicine still wafted through the air because of their arrival.
The director pushed the wheelchair out of the elevator, panting. The staff in the theater frowned in disgust, but did not say anything because it was a public place. They told them not to dirty the floor, otherwise they would not be able to pay for it.
Jiang Zhiyue looked at this scene and clenched her fingers unconsciously.
