Chapter 15 Tiger Preaching

As for the method of cultivation, if one takes the unorthodox path, Qi Wuhuo can now enter the Tao and cultivate supernatural powers. But if one wants to take the upright path, he needs to devote all his energy and attention.

The primordial spirit has been achieved, the primordial energy has been nurtured, but the primordial essence has no way to enter the door.

The tiger asked seriously, "Do you want to listen to my teachings?" His expression was as solemn as if he was a rough Taoist who was watching the snow and discussing Taoism beside the bamboo forest in the snow. The young man was stunned, then put down the bamboo basket, tidied his clothes, and responded with a bow:

"I really wish for it, but I dare not ask for it."

The tiger laughed.

The sound was so loud that it shook the pine forest for miles, and snowflakes fell from the tree trunks. The tiger smiled and said, "Please take a seat."

The snow-covered ground looked like a Taoist temple. A tiger sat upright on the top bluestone, and Qi Wuhuo sat on one side. Many spiritual beasts sat down one by one. Monkeys scratched their ears and cheeks, pythons coiled up and flicked their tongues, and birds folded their wings and landed on branches.

The tiger's eyes swept over, and then slowly spoke:

"Today, a new Taoist friend has come to the banquet. I would like to give a lecture on this. When practicing, the most important thing is Yuan Jing! Yuan Jing is the origin of all living things, blood and flesh. Ordinary warriors and unorthodox practitioners all say that Jing is Qi, blood, tendons and bones. In fact, this is a far cry from reality. If you practice with this in mind, it is like trying to catch fish by climbing a tree. The more you practice, the further away you will get."

"What is Yuan Jing?"

"The Great Dao says—"

"In the midst of trance, seek the image; in the darkness, seek the true essence."

"Being and non-being enter each other from this, how can one think of it?"

"In the Daoist Scriptures, the 21st chapter says, 'The Dao is a thing that is vague and indistinct. In the vagueness and indistinction, there are images; in the vagueness and indistinction, there are things; in the darkness and obscurity, there is essence.'"

"This essence means Yuan Jing."

"It is called hazy and dark, which means that this primordial essence does not exist in a tangible form, but rather it is lingering in the five internal organs, six bowels, limbs and bones. It is also said that it is to find the true scriptures in the dark."

"What is 'seeking'? It means to search."

“With what do you seek? With God.”

"That's what Daozu meant by this."

"The essence is deeply hidden in the limbs and bones, but it cannot be sensed at ordinary times. Only when you are in a trance, you can sense it. You should use your spirit as the body and your mind as the function. When it seems to be there and not there, [collect and refine it] in the limbs and bones!"

“This is the skill of refining essence in the process of transforming essence into qi.”

"It means to find the essence of the limbs and bones, and then extract and refine it."

"And why do we need to refine it?"

"To observe the nature of all things through the truth of one thing is nothing more than to attach importance to this primordial energy - because this primordial essence is the source of all life, the foundation of life! In some great lineages, it is called the [Life Treasure]."

"The living beings who have taken back their own life treasure from the creation of heaven and earth and reached this realm can have a full life span, not be affected by natural disasters or man-made disasters, be immune to all diseases, and die without illness. They are called Taoist priests."

The tiger replied in a low voice, telling about the Taoist practice methods.

After slowly speaking, he shook his head and sighed:

"Refine the essence and transform it into Qi; these are two steps. It is to refine the essence of the five internal organs and six bowels, and take back my life treasure from the creation of heaven and earth, so that I know that my life is in my own hands. Then I control the Qi with my spirit, and the Qi and essence are combined to become the innate Qi, and from then on I will not be bound by anything."

"To break away from the mundane world and take one step further, people can be called true people, and animals can shed their animal form and be worshipped."

"But when the Dao sect passed it on, there were more and more errors. It became a step, and later on, it was actually necessary to refine one's own flesh and blood to temper the internal energy. What a fallacy..."

"What we cultivate is our own perfection. The flesh and blood are as important as the soul."

"How can we collect and refine it?"

"The Taoist ancestors hid the key points and secrets in a few words. It is a pity that only those who have mastered the Taoist tradition can get the true teachings."

When the tiger sighed, he was like an old Taoist who had been walking in the world for a long time. He did not understand the practices of the Taoist ancestors, but his body was majestic and his spirit was grand, like a hero. Qi Wuhuo suddenly realized what he heard.

He muttered to himself: "Refine Essence, Transform Qi."

The knowledge that the old man who claimed to have the same surname as Daozu had told him seemed to become clearer and clearer.

The tiger glanced at him and continued in a low voice:

"There are words in the Daoist scriptures of the Taoist ancestors, which are very true and trustworthy."

"From ancient times to the present day, its name has not faded, and has been read by many people."

"How can I know the appearance of the crowd?"

"Its essence is very real, which means that the existence of the primordial essence is real and not false, and it is used to examine all things. "Yueh" means to receive; "Fu" means to begin, which means that the primordial essence is the source of all things and the beginning of all things."

“Especially important!”

A bird with feathers emitting strange brilliance heard this and its eyes lit up with joy. It bowed its head and said, "I have now learned the method of cultivating Yuan Jing!"

"I beg you, Mr. Shan, to teach me the true Dharma!"

One monkey also scratched his ears and cheeks, then bowed down and said, "Please, Master Shanjun, teach me the true Dharma, teach me the true Dharma!"

The tiger looked majestic, frowned and shook his head, then spoke in a low voice:

“The way of transforming qi is the way of the real person. Your qi is not yet perfect, your spirit cannot leave your body, and your essence has not yet been extracted and refined. If I teach you the orthodox way, even if it is the great way, it will become a side path!”

The tiger glanced at Qi Wuhuo.

Qi Wuhuo lowered his eyes slightly, thinking in his heart.

What the old man had told him before was the most basic method, which was to control the Qi with the spirit, and to use the Qi to cleanse the flesh and blood. When the flesh and blood were round and pure, they would naturally condense the essence. However, the fierce tiger in front of him had passed on another ancestral method, which was to collect and refine the essence in the vast darkness and take away my life treasure.

One is in inaction, the other is in gradual cultivation.

But they seem to confirm each other.

At this moment, the tiger took a look at the small green tripod, raised its claws and slapped it. The tripod suddenly floated in the void. After just a flash, it emitted infinite green color. In an instant, it turned from a small tripod into a huge tripod. There were ancient taotie patterns on it, and there were three iron rings in its mouth, forming the three positions, which made clanging sounds.

The tripod is in the void, with fire filling its entire body, and it rotates nine times.

All the medicinal herbs found by the spirits and monsters in the dozen or so mountains nearby were melted into it and tempered with tiger fire. Gradually, an extremely rich medicinal fragrance was emitted.

Although it was not alcohol, it made all the spirits in the room drunk, shaking their heads, stumbling, and swaying their vision, as if the whole sky was drunk. Only the young man in blue was sitting upright. The tiger slapped the cauldron, and the rumbling sound was like the turning of water.

"Come, everyone, drink it!"

The emerald spiritual liquid was refined, and then the lotus leaves curled up in the air, transforming into one cup after another. The spiritual liquid contained in it was as green as jade, yet crystal clear.

The tiger drank it first.

Qi Wuhuo's soul did not sense any malicious intent. He held the wine in his hand. Menghu urged him to drink it quickly before the effect of the medicine wore off, and he drank it all in one gulp.

The spiritual liquid entered his throat, and he seemed to feel slightly tipsy, but soon he could feel the difference: his body was intoxicated, his blood and qi were stable, and his soul was leaving. Qi Wuhuo felt it very clearly, his soul slightly left his body, his flesh and blood condensed, and his vital energy circulated through his limbs and bones.

In the vast and obscure darkness, the essence is collected and refined.

The animals were staggering drunkenly on the ground, while the young man sat cross-legged in the falling snow.

The tiger sat on the bluestone, hitting the cauldron with a loud sound, and then laughed loudly:

"The Tao is vague and indistinct."

“No matter how much you seek, you will never find it.”

"It's cultivation!"

"Seeking immortality!"

"Eternal life!"

"You see the world is as big as a plate, this is a pill from my family!"

"If you want to be finished, just go out and disappear. Don't let your mind dwell on the appearance of things."

After laughing, he drank the spiritual liquid like drinking wine.

Snow is falling in the mountains.

Tiger preaches.

Qi Wuhuo closed his eyes slightly and circulated his breath.

All things have their own great medicine. Collect and refine them, get rid of the body of creation, and return to my original Qi.

I don’t know how long it has been, but I vaguely feel an extremely pure existence gathering in my limbs and bones.

The tiger looked up, eyes wide.

So fast?!

Yuan Jing means gathering.
