The old man's voice faded away, and Qi Wuhuo looked up and asked in confusion: "Never?"
The old man laughed in silence, and then teased:
"Wuhuo's talent and understanding are indeed good, and his instinctive intuition is also very strong. He can always sense that something is wrong."
"It seems that practicing Buddhism can also be useful."
"I just need to cut my hair."
Seeing Qi Wuhuo's bewildered face, the old man laughed and stopped joking. He paused and then said gently, "Never means that for him, he has never met me. He will not remember the fate of preaching in the past, nor will he remember meeting you today. His practice in the past was just a coincidence."
"Don't worry about these things. Since the fate has been established, it is the fact."
"It's just that."
"From the beginning to the end, he is no longer my disciple."
"It's supposed to be this way."
The old man spoke calmly, as if he was talking about something very ordinary. He then smiled and asked the young man who was slowly eating the candied haws:
"Come to think of it, do you think he was wrong?"
Qi Wuhuo looked back at the passage hall, not knowing how to answer for a moment. After a long while, he said:
"I think it's correct."
"You can't say that he was wrong because he didn't follow you, the teacher."
The old man seemed quite satisfied, and nodded with a smile, saying, "You are right."
"In fact, he did nothing wrong. He passed down the Dharma and the Taoism, allowing the path he pursued to blossom throughout the world. During this process, he did not use any evil methods, but instead completed his vision from his youth step by step, calmly and unhurriedly. He witnessed many things and watched the past three hundred years."
“In the lineage he has opened up, perhaps someone will be born who will embark on the path of cultivation.”
"As for not being able to let go of the desire for fame and fortune, and not being able to give up the desire for money."
The old man paused and smiled freely: "But who says fame and fortune are wrong?"
He looked at the prosperous city in front of him, walked step by step with the young man, brushed shoulders with everyone, and said gently: "You love fame and gain, and you are respected by everyone by spreading the Dharma. What's wrong with that? This is not a problem, and there is nothing wrong with it. However, there is no mistake, but it has deviated from the Tao."
"If you seek fame and fortune, that's fine."
“When it’s time to give up fame and fortune, you shouldn’t hesitate.”
"The best in the Dao sect is definitely [Li Fanchen]."
Qi Wuhuo thought for a moment and asked, "Leaving the mortal world? So that's why the teacher said he wanted to take him to travel around the world?"
This time was beyond Qi Wuhuo's expectations. The old man shook his head and joked:
"No, if he had come out at that time, I would not have taken him away."
"It's so tiring to travel around with others."
"I will still let him stay here and be his heavenly master."
Qi Wuhuo was stunned: "Ah?"
The old man seemed to be amused by the boy's appearance. He laughed for a long time, then bent down slightly, gently touched Qi Wuhuo's chest with his finger, and smiled gently: "This is the first sentence of the first lesson. Wuhuo remember it."
“To leave the world is not to leave the body, but to leave the mind.”
"Although this analogy is not very appropriate, it can be used to make Wuhuo understand."
"The body is like the root of a lotus, the heart is like a lotus, the root is in the mud and the flower is in the sky."
"Those who have attained the Tao are in the secular world but their hearts are in the holy realm."
The old man's eyes were gentle and calm: "If he really comes out, what difference does it make whether he leaves here or not?"
"He didn't make it out."
“What a pity…”
Qi Wuhuo was slightly shocked.
If it is said that my senior brother had not come out of it before, it was just a regret in his heart.
The old man's words gave him a greater shock.
The old man smiled and waited for him to think. After he finished eating the candied haws, he took him forward, still at a leisurely pace, but just like the sea with ripples like stars before, the many scenes of the world, the hawking sounds, the shouts of people coming and going, the steaming, fresh and lively scenery of the world also disappeared in an instant, and after only a few steps, they arrived at a green mountain.
In Tongdao Pavilion, when he was young, he had an adventure. He saw the characters on the stone tablet in an ancient temple. The real person who realized the wonderful method of cultivation was suddenly stunned. For some reason, he felt a sense of loss in his heart. He seemed to hear an old voice in his ears, sighing -
What a pity.
What a pity! What a pity!
It seems like an illusion, but it continues.
For some unknown reason, this immortal, who was over 300 years old, felt indescribably sad.
He staggered two steps and burst into tears in front of many disciples.
But I don’t know why.
I don’t know for whom.
…
The old man led Qi Wuhuo forward.
The wind was gentle and there were colorful phoenixes flying in the sky.
A stream comes from afar and surrounds one side of the mountain. There are bamboo forests, sea of flowers, and many other scenes surrounding a small courtyard.
In front of the courtyard, there was a young girl who still looked pure and beautiful, smiling as she looked at the scenery in the distance. In front of her sat an old man with white hair. The two seemed to be talking about something, and their expressions were quite intimate. Qi Wuhuo asked curiously, "Is this my senior brother?"
The old man said: "No, it should be Senior Sister."
Qi Wuhuo's expression was slightly stunned.
The old man stroked his beard and said, "Speaking of which, she is very similar to you, Wuhuo. When she was young, her parents sold her to someone else as a daughter-in-law. She escaped by herself, but because she trusted others too easily, she met with disaster and fell into prostitution. She cut her face with a pair of scissors and escaped. She was determined and walked for seventeen days to escape from danger. Her heart of Taoism is not in the mortal world, and the sword energy is deep in her bones. She can be a true cultivator."
"I adopted her as my disciple, raised her for thirteen years, and brought her all over the world. I gave her the Taoist name [Yu Miao]."
"Later, she traveled around the world to seek immortals and make friends, and she met a man..."
"The two fell in love at first sight, and later on they got along well, but that person's cultivation was not enough. Later, your sister was still young, but he could no longer lock up his own spirit, and his Yuan Qi leaked out, and his appearance gradually aged."
Qi Wuhuo looked at Yu Miao Zhenren in the distance.
Still like a young girl in her twenties.
Although the man had great Taoist skills and did not age much, he already had gray hair and wrinkles on his face. His energy was constantly draining away. It was conceivable that he would age at a faster rate than an ordinary person in the future.
The old man said calmly: "And that was eight hundred years ago."
The boy was stunned and looked at the teacher in disbelief.
The old man said calmly, "That man was about to die eight hundred years ago. She didn't want to bring trouble to me, so she left my school."
"Then the Heavenly Palace stole the elixir, which attracted the guardian marshal of the Southern Heavenly Gate. Relying on her own skills, she fought against the Heavenly Generals and Heavenly Soldiers. Later, she was severely injured by General Yuan Gang of Jinglang Leifu and was rescued by your senior brother. After that, she put aside her lifelong pride and knelt outside the Purple Mansion for seven days and seven nights, begging me to help her help the man practice. Wuhuo, what do you think your master should do?"
He looked at the young man, and then said calmly:
"The master refused."
"She had no resentment, she just kowtowed nine times, left the Taoist sect, and lived in seclusion here..."
"Then, she looked for the underworld and various secret methods."
"In exchange for the magic weapon and elixir, the man will be reincarnated as a human several times, and the next generation will find him in the sea of people. No matter what the man's identity is, he will be devoted to one person from generation to generation."
"It's just because I made a promise to you back then."
"May this be forever in our lives."
Qi Wuhuo looked at that scene, he knew those stories, saying that one only envies the mandarin ducks and not the immortals, and that love can shake the heaven and earth, but he always thought that these were just plots in the stories. What he saw today inevitably touched his heart, but the next moment, when he realized his identity, he already understood what he was about to do.
The young Taoist said quietly:
"I want my disciples to ask her if she is willing to come back to practice."
"If not, will you bring back her Dao name as well?"
The old man's expression was as gentle as before. He looked at the child he had raised for thirteen years. She seemed to be very happy now, far away from the mundane world, like an immortal. She was extremely emotional and Tao, and seemed to have realized something in spiritual practice. But in the end, he only said those two words:
"Go ahead."
Gentle and peaceful, very tolerant, but also without the slightest room for turning back.
There is a thing that is mixed and formed before the heaven and earth. It is silent and lonely, independent and unchanging, and it moves around without end. It can be the mother of the world.
I do not know whose son he is; I do not know his name.
The word is "Tao".
Not a seeker of truth.
Remove its name.
Qi Wuhuo closed his eyes, feeling the joy in his heart after becoming a disciple gradually subsiding.
The person he saw was like a hammer hitting his heart, shaking his heart.
Qi Wuhuo exhaled slowly, cupped his hands, saluted, and said:
"Disciple, Xuanwei obeys the order..."
【Meet】them.
Also [see] yourself.
The young man talked to himself.
They are the ones who refine me, and I am the one who saves them.
Turning around, the hem of his clothes rose and fell, and Qi Wuhuo's sleeves flowed.
There is childishness in his brows.
But it was different from before, and it had some of the Taoist aura.
To refine the mind in this way, one must start with being majestic and vast; the Tai Shang lineage is the purest and most rigorous.
The Twelve Golden Immortals roam freely, with countless magical weapons; the Ten Thousand Immortals are vast and majestic, with countless magical powers.
But no one dared to say that they could surpass Xuan Du.
The practice of Xuanmen is the most arduous, difficult and the most advanced.
It should be so.
