Chapter 1018: Offer blood to the gods!

On the sea.

The Viking lookout at the top of the mast gave a loud call.

"It's land! It's about twenty miles ahead!"

"It's Holy Egypt!"

"Our King! We are approaching the coastline of Holy Egypt!"

Upon hearing this, Harald, King of the North, simply stood up slowly.

His beard, stiffened by the sea breeze, fluttered in the wind, and then he gripped the legendary long axe tightly in his hand.

Finally, the corners of his mouth stretched into an excited smile.

"Behold! My warriors!"

"That's the coast of Holy Egypt. In their capital, there are countless gold and treasures!"

The surrounding Viking warriors burst into deafening cheers. They waved all kinds of weapons and even beat their shields like war drums.

A massive fleet of hundreds of longships responded in unison, their echoes rolling across the sea.

Harald, King in the North, shouted again.

"My warriors!"

"We crossed the ocean for this day!"

"Those weak pagans in the south, their fertile land, their gold, their women, will all become our spoils!"

The Viking warriors shouted in unison, their voices reaching the sky: "Hooha!"

Harald, King of the North, raised his long axe and pointed at the coastline that was becoming clearer in the distance.

"Let us offer the blood of our enemies to the gods! Let their screams become our triumphant songs of victory! Forward, warriors, glory to the victor!"

There was another earth-shaking war cry, and the Viking fleet adjusted its course. All the longships accelerated at the same time, and the bows split the calm sea surface, stirring up white waves.

Each ship was packed with heavily armed warriors, eager to set foot on this rich land and begin their signature plundering spree.

The captains of each ship also issued orders at the same time: "Speed up! Rowers, double your strength, soldiers, prepare to charge!"

The Viking warriors picked up their weapons, put on their helmets, and got ready for battle.

The black magicians, that is, the priestesses who are proficient in the black magic of the North, stood at the bow. They were looking at Holy Egypt in the distance, and their breathing began to become rapid.

"Eight miles!"

"Six miles!"

The fleet was less than six miles away from the coast, and a successful landing was in sight.

And at this critical moment, a harsh sound of flowing water came from below.

"Oh no! The cabin is flooded!"

On one of the fleet's longboats, an oarsman screamed in terror.

"There's a big hole in the bottom of our ship!"

"What's going on?!"

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone on the boat immediately fell into chaos and scattered in all directions.

"How did water get in?"

"Check for reefs!"

More rowers found that water began to accumulate under their seats, the wooden hull made strange creaking noises, and sea water began to rush in fiercely.

The captain tried desperately to maintain order, but the situation did not improve.

The ship continued to tilt, and seawater poured in at a rate far exceeding its drainage capacity.

"Wait! Captain! There's something underwater!"

A young warrior roared, pointing at a blurry black figure beneath the water.

"Look at those things! They're banging against the bottom of our boat!"

At this time, more ships were facing the same threat, and the Vikings soon realized that something seemed to be lurking beneath their fleet, launching an attack.

Harald, King in the North, came to the side of the boat and just gritted his teeth left and right.

"Archers, get ready!"

"Aim for those underwater things!"

Dozens of longbows were pulled at the same time, and hundreds of arrows fell into the sea like raindrops.

Ripples appeared on the surface of the water and a few agonized roars came from the depths, but the attack did not stop.

At this moment, the black magicians on the ship began to cast spells.

"King, let us take care of them for you..."

They sat down around the side of the boat and began to chant incantations.

Then, circles of energy ripples spread from their hands to the sea surface and reached deep underwater.

In an instant, the sea began to boil.

Injured marine creatures surfaced. They were a group of huge creatures, shaped like sharks but with a single horn and sharp bone spurs all over their backs.

They twisted wildly, their bodies riddled with Viking arrows, but still had terrifying attack power.

Harald, King of the North, then picked up his axe and, without fear, chopped off its head with one blow.

"Protect the ship!"

"Guard the Black Mage!"

The warriors stepped forward, extending their spears and harpoons into the water to stop the marine creatures that were trying to jump onto the boat.

However, the situation became increasingly serious, as more ships began to take on water, and some even tilted to the point where they could no longer sail.

At this critical moment, an even more shocking scene appeared on the sea.

Teams of warriors riding on some strange sea beasts broke out of the water. They were wearing silver armor, helmets with gill holes on their heads, and holding tridents or other long-handled weapons.

Harald, the King of the North, looked at the sea beast cavalry and immediately raised his axe and shouted.

"That's the Atlantis sea beast cavalry!"

At this time, the sea beast cavalry launched an attack without hesitation.

They rode nimble sea beasts, moving across the sea like lightning, their tridents pointing directly at the Viking ships.

The rain of arrows shot by the Viking archers had limited effect on the sea beast cavalry. Most of the arrows were bounced off their smooth armor or dodged by the sea beasts nimbly.

On the contrary, the spears and tridents of the sea beast cavalry dealt a devastating blow to the wooden ships, and several longships were quickly riddled with holes.

“These guys are so sensitive!”

"We have to think of a way!"

Harald, King of the North, stood at the bow of the ship, observing the battle calmly.

"Dark magicians, concentrate your fire on the sea beast cavalry's mounts! Aim for the heads and bellies of those monsters!"

The black magicians began to cast spells again, this time their energy was more concentrated and more lethal.

The dark blue beams penetrated the sea surface and directly hit the vital points of several sea beasts.

The attacked sea beast let out a shrill wail and rolled out of control, dragging the knight into the water with it.

Seeing this scene, Harald, King of the North, smiled.

"Keep attacking, and get rid of those guys riding beasts first!"

That's when the tide began to turn.

Although the number of sea beast cavalry is large, their mobility in shallow waters is limited and they cannot fully utilize their advantages.

The magical attacks of the Viking black magicians posed a serious threat to them. Within just a few minutes, more than a dozen cavalrymen were forced to withdraw from the battle.

The Sea Beast Cavalry Captain saw that the situation was unfavorable and immediately changed his tactics.

"Warriors, listen up!"

"Prioritize killing and destroying those spellcasters!"

The sound of horns resounded across the sea, and the sea beast cavalry began to regroup, forming a spearhead formation and charging straight into the center of the Viking fleet, where the black magicians gathered.

The black magicians stopped chanting, knowing that they had become the primary target.
