"Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, Nephthys is my mother's sister."
"And Isis, is mine..."
When Anubis said this, a burst of black smoke suddenly rose above his head.
Obviously, Lin Ke's words seemed to make his divine brain start to reorganize.
"That's right."
"That's right."
"Then do you know that Nephthys' husband is our supreme god, Set?"
Looking at the silence of the crowd, Lin Ke finally understood that these guys seemed to be completely unaware of the affairs of the gods and had no understanding at all.
"Or let me explain it to you."
"However, if you find any clues that can help, please let me know immediately."
Everyone nodded, and then Lin Ke slowly spoke.
"First, there are these four supreme gods. Of course, they hadn't fully ascended to become the supreme gods they are today..."
......
Isis and Nephthys.
The twin sisters were destined to assume different responsibilities from the moment they were born.
Isis, the goddess with bright eyes and a warm smile, is designated as the protector of life, magic, and motherhood.
Her name means "throne", symbolizing divine sovereignty and endless creativity.
Whenever she walks among men, the fields will be fruitful, the sick will be healed, and lovers will be blessed.
Nephthys, by contrast, was a completely different beast.
Her name can be translated as "Mistress of the Temple", but is more closely associated with transition, mourning, and mysterious powers.
If Isis is the morning sun, Nephthys is the evening sun.
One is a singer of life, the other is a companion of death, both are indispensable.
It is their existence that together constitutes the complete picture of Holy Egypt being able to complete the cycle of the world.
The red thread of fate leads these sisters to two different marriage paths.
Isis fell in love with the wise and kind Osiris, the young man who was to become the god of earth and agriculture, and their union symbolized the perfect divine order.
Nephthys was associated with Set, the bad-tempered and capricious god of storms and deserts.
Although the sisters live in completely different worlds, the gears of fate have already begun to turn secretly.
Isis and Osiris established an ideal country, taught humans agriculture, medicine and law, created hieroglyphics, and brought the dawn of civilization.
Under their rule, the Nile River basin prospered and was well-ordered.
Meanwhile, Nephthys and Set's lives were filled with quarrels and discontent.
Seth yearned for disorder and turmoil, and his heart burned with jealousy of his brother's perfect rule.
Although Nephthys was Set's nominal partner, she often felt lonely and lost.
As she looked at her sister's happy family, an indescribable emotion arose in her heart.
And that is, a secret love for Osiris.
This emotion is like an underground undercurrent, growing stronger in silence.
One night, Nephthys put on Isis's clothes, imitated her sister's words and deeds, and quietly went to Osiris's palace under the moonlight.
Under the dim starlight, Osiris was unable to discern the true identity of the person in front of him, and thus a forbidden love was born.
Not long after, Nephthys gave birth to a boy.
Anubis.
However, she abandoned him in the wilderness because she was afraid of Seth's revenge.
But fate has its own arrangements.
Isis discovered the abandoned child during her daily patrols and, with her divine intuition, recognized the power in him that was similar to that of Osiris and thus recognized his identity.
She chose to keep the secret and quietly took Anubis back to raise him.
Anubis became the nephew of Osiris.
However, as time passed, Seth's jealousy and resentment reached a peak.
On a full-moon night, he set an elaborate trap and successfully murdered his defenseless brother Osiris. He then cruelly cut the body into fourteen parts and scattered them throughout Egypt, intending to bury Osiris forever.
When Nephthys learned of her husband's atrocities, she experienced a fierce inner struggle.
On the one hand, there is the marriage bond with Seth and his natural tendency towards chaos, and on the other hand, there is the deep affection for his sister and the remaining sense of morality in his heart.
In the end, love and family affection triumphed over the obligations of marriage, and she chose to betray Set and stand on the side of Isis.
"Sister, I'll confess everything to you."
Nephthys knelt before Isis with tears in her eyes.
"I have made unforgivable mistakes, but I do not condone such atrocities."
"Tell me where Osiris's body is, and I will accompany you to retrieve it."
Isis accepted her sister's confession, and the two sisters forged a stronger bond in their grief.
They began a long journey of search, traveling through the mountains and rivers of Egypt to collect every part of Osiris's remains.
Isis used her magical knowledge to preserve the fragments, while Nephthys contributed her expertise in mourning rituals, performing purification rites for each recovered piece.
During the search for Osiris' body, the sisters were often seen transformed into two flying birds.
Sometimes it is a kite, sometimes it is a falcon, they always make crying sounds in the wind.
During this period of sorrow, Nephthys' transformation was particularly evident. She went from a deity teetering on the edge of light and darkness to a guardian who truly understood the meaning of the transition between life and death.
