Chapter 1139 Wise! King!

Leonidas listened to all this quietly, his expression not changing at all.

He glanced around at his warriors, then returned his gaze to the Persian messenger.

Then, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.

"Tell this to your king of Persia."

He spoke each word clearly, his voice not loud but exceptionally clear.

"A Spartan warrior does not flee."

The other party just showed a puzzled expression when listening to Leonidas' words.

Then, Leonidas' voice suddenly rose.

"Spartan warriors will never surrender!"

After saying that, he suddenly drew the dagger from his waist and chopped off the tactician's head before he could react.

Blood gushed out and the tactician fell to the ground with a thud.

When his head fell, his eyes were still wide open, filled with disbelief.

Almost at the same moment, the Spartan warriors burst into a deafening war roar.

It was a high-pitched roar, like the roar of a raging beast, and the sound immediately filled the entire valley.

The remaining messenger was stunned by this sudden scene. It took him several seconds to react and he turned around and ran for his life.

He staggered towards the team behind him, screaming non-stop.

“Run! Run!”

A young Spartan turned to Leonidas and said, "My Lord, do you want me to kill the runaway messenger?"

"All I need is a spear to reunite him with his companions."

The warrior said this, and then raised his spear horizontally.

Leonidas just shook his head slightly after hearing this, his eyes fixed on the fleeing figure.

"No need, let him go back."

"The enemy wants us to experience fear."

"Why not let them take the fear back with them and enjoy it yourself?"

At this time, Leonidas' old friend came forward and spoke with a smile.

"Your decision is wise, my king."

"That messenger will tell the Persians what's going on here."

"They will soon learn that you were the first to declare war on the Persians."

In diplomacy between two countries, killing an envoy means declaring war.

Leonidas smiled when he heard this.

"That's right."

"Spartan warriors, return to your posts!"

"The Persians will attack soon!"

"This is where we will be buried!"

Three hundred Spartans responded in unison, their voices like thunder echoing throughout the valley.

"Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!"

......

The other side.

The escaped messenger caused an uproar.

Especially when Nadir Shah was presiding over a military meeting to discuss offensive strategies, the whole audience was shocked when they saw the sweaty and disheveled messenger stumbling into the tent.

Obviously, anyone can see at a glance that this diplomacy is not going smoothly.

"Great God-King, King of Kings!"

The messenger almost sobbed.

"That's Leonidas of Sparta, he... he's a complete barbarian!"

"He refused your gift and even...even cut off the Tactician's head!"

"This! This is a declaration of war against you!"

The generals in the tent were immediately in an uproar.

"What?!"

"How dare he refuse the gift of the King of Kings!?"

"How dare he refuse such generous conditions?!"

The messenger's voice became more and more excited.

"Yes! They also openly murdered the empire's outstanding generals, tarnishing the sacred diplomatic etiquette!"

"However, our vanguard has already launched an attack on Thermopylae. I believe it won't be long before..."

Before the messenger finished speaking, several shouts were heard from the camp.

Several sentries rushed in: "King of kings, something bad is happening!"

"The vanguard we sent to Thermopylae was almost completely wiped out!"

Nadir Shah stood up, and in an instant, the noisy space became quiet.

"What?"

Nadir Shah frowned.

You know, the vanguard has nearly two thousand people.

The messenger had just arrived at the camp and reported the news that the tactical master had been beheaded.

"The Spartans set an ambush! They used the terrain to their advantage and strangled our vanguard!"

"Only a few managed to escape, and most... perished in the ravines of Thermopylae."

"We clearly saw that the remaining vanguard troops were pushed into the sea by those Spartans!"

There was an uproar in the military camp.

Even the generals thought there was something wrong with their ears.

"Three hundred people killed a vanguard of nearly two thousand people?"

“Are you kidding me?!”

A general frowned and raised his voice.

"What about Sparta? How many casualties did they suffer?"

The general continued to question the sentry, but the sentry hesitated and did not speak, even turning his head to the other side, as if he wanted to know whether he could say that.

"Speak! How many people were killed or injured?!"

Upon hearing this, the sentry immediately knelt on the ground.

"They, none of them died!"

"That's what the soldiers who escaped back said!"

"They said they weren't human at all, they were monsters..."

Nadir Shah was stunned at first, then he raised the corner of his mouth, revealing an expression that looked like a wry smile.
