"If I find out you're lying..."
“I will make her tear a piece of skin off you as punishment.”
"Of course, you can also say nothing, in which case I will have my great mage turn you into dust, and then no one will find your corpse."
As Lin Ke spoke, she glanced at Nan Tong.
Nan Tong immediately understood and raised one arm.
In the blink of an eye, a marble stool turned into yellow dust and disappeared with a gentle breeze.
"Waaaaah! Waaaaah!"
The girl's body trembled even more violently, and her expression even turned into a desperate blankness.
Of course, Lin Ke didn't really intend to kill her, but she knew very well that when dealing with someone who was starving and even unscrupulous, a combination of firmness and gentleness was the most effective approach.
Ahead lies readily available food; behind lies terrifying torture and an abyss of death.
In Lin Ke's view, she would naturally make the right choice.
"The first question."
"Where are you from? Why did you come here?"
The girl slowly raised her head, her pupils throbbing violently.
Seeing this, Lin Ke simply tore off a piece of fish and put it in her mouth.
"It tastes good, and it's still hot."
"I am the Holy Pharaoh of Holy Egypt."
"My word is as good as gold."
"You'll get a piece of fish for every question you answer."
Lin Ke swallowed the fish and continued to patiently guide the other person.
"I've finished introducing myself, now it's your turn."
As he spoke, he tore off another piece of fish and waited.
Seeing this, the girl began to take deep breaths, and then a choked sob escaped her throat.
"I...I'm called Ayina..."
Lin Ke nodded, then looked at the other person's body and face.
This name is clearly not a Greek name.
The other person doesn't seem to be a local.
“Very well, Ayina, so, where did you come from?”
The girl's gaze then slowly shifted to the fish in Lin Ke's hand.
"Inca...Inca..."
The girl's voice was very soft.
"I...I come from a very far away place..."
"It's very far from here..."
Lin Ke was stunned when she heard this.
He opened the civilization panel in his mind, and sure enough, it was a civilization he had never discovered before. The civilization panel did not currently display anything about this civilization.
But how did they get here?
Lin Ke looked at the girl; she clearly didn't seem to be a follower who had come with the kingdom's leader.
After all, what leader of a civilization would have an attendant who looked like he was experiencing a famine?
"Inca".
"Go on, then why did you come here?"
The fish in Lin Ke's hand was getting closer and closer to the other person.
The girl remained silent for a while, her trembling eyes constantly shifting between Lin Ke and the fish meat.
Clearly, she didn't know what Lin Ke's purpose was in doing this, but right now, everyone except Lin Ke looked extremely dangerous.
Everyone seemed eager to kill her at any moment, while the Holy Pharaoh in front of them appeared to be the least dangerous.
Finally, overcome by hunger and exhaustion, and swayed by Lin Ke's gentle face, she lowered her guard to the last vestiges of her wariness.
"Because...because I smelled the aroma of food..."
"I...I've been hiding in the woods for two days now, and I have no food."
Her voice grew softer and softer, and her face lowered further and lower, as if she were feeling somewhat embarrassed.
"I'm starving to death."
"There's no food nearby, and dangerous people are everywhere."
Suddenly, I smelled something delicious! It smelled so good!
As she said this, a light suddenly shone in her eyes again.
"I followed the smell, and then I arrived here."
"I... um..."
At this point, she buried her face in the ground again.
Looking at her thin body and sunken eyes, Lin Ke remained silent for a moment, then reached out and picked up a piece of grilled fish from the table.
That's right, he picked out a larger piece of fish with small bones.
"Open your mouth."
The girl hesitated for a moment, then obediently opened her mouth.
Her eyes were filled with both anticipation and fear, as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing was real.
When Lin Ke put the piece of fish into her mouth, the girl's eyes widened in surprise.
She didn't chew it properly, but swallowed it whole, then desperately chewed the air, greedily trying to retain the taste of the food.
Her Adam's apple bobbed rapidly, and her hands involuntarily covered her stomach, as if to confirm that the food had actually entered her body.
However, after she swallowed, she frowned and swallowed hard again, clearly because a fishbone was stuck in her neck.
Lin Ke did this to confirm that what the other party said was true, after all, only a hungry person would make the most genuine reaction.
So, Lin Ke looked at the other person's appearance, along with the information displayed on the civilization panel, and the previous words between Nan Tong and Ramses.
Now he was finally able to confirm that this guy wasn't a dangerous person.
He could believe her now.
"Want more?"
The girl nodded frantically, seemingly forgetting the discomfort in her throat. Her gaze was fixed on the plate in Lin Ke's hand, like a hungry wolf eyeing its prey.
