Chapter 1328 A Secret Team Formed Spontaneously

Olaf stood on the city wall of Nidaros, gazing silently into the distance.

A Viking warrior came up behind him and whispered, "My lord, it seems that Eric gathered a large group of warriors in Bergen yesterday."

“Bergen, a gathering…” Olaf murmured.

Then, his voice became indifferent: "I understand. Gather all the warriors in the city and prepare them for battle."

"yes!"

After the warriors left, Olaf looked into the distance and said, "Eric, you fought alongside the king in your youth, and now the king has made you the lord of Bergen. Aren't you satisfied?"

On the other side.

Eric is leading a large number of Viking warriors from Bergen toward Nidaros.

A Viking warrior, panting, followed behind Eric and asked hesitantly, "Chief Eric, shall we head straight for Nidaros like this?"

Eric glanced at him and said dismissively, "You don't need any complicated tactics to deal with Olaf, that simple-minded guy."

Then, his expression became arrogant again: "I used to be a general by the king's side. Olaf is nothing in front of me."

Upon hearing this, the Viking warriors steadied themselves and hurried towards the city of Nidaros.

They were so arrogant that they made no attempt to conceal their actions, simply rampaging through Bergen.

The humans on the street, upon seeing Eric and a large group of Viking warriors, couldn't help but peek out with concern.

One person couldn't help but call out to Eric and ask:

"Honorable Chief Eric, what are you doing with so many Viking warriors?"

Eric said impatiently, "I'm going to overthrow that damned new king, Olaf, you just wait and see."

Upon hearing this, a voice suddenly rang out from the crowd: "But I heard that Olaf was the new king chosen by King Had before his death. Are you going against King Had's last wishes?"

"Who?" Eric turned around sharply, but the speaker had already disappeared into the crowd.

Eric gritted his teeth and said, "Olav is the real traitor!"

"Even with Wang Yingyong's heroic sacrifice and death on the battlefield, he actually chose to flee, actually choosing to go against the honor of the Viking warriors."

"A true Viking warrior, even if he dies in battle, will never choose to flee from the battlefield."

"When I've driven Olaf away in defeat, you'll understand who the true new king is!"

Eric led his Viking warriors away triumphantly.

Only after they had gone far away did the people on the street dare to gradually gather together.

"What should we do? If Eric becomes our new king, he will destroy all of Norway."

“Oh my God, I don’t want to see such a radical and radical person on the throne; that would be a disaster.”

"Did you know that Eric was once a Viking warrior, following the king on his campaigns across the seas?"

"It was because he was too stubborn and audacious that the king banished him to Bergen to become the city lord."

“Look at the mess Bergen has become since he became the city lord.”

“We had to be careful even when we spoke loudly, because that could be seen as an offense against Eric’s authority, and we would be severely punished by him.”

The voices of the people were filled not only with fear of Eric, but also with sorrow for the future of Norway.

At this moment, the person who had previously jumped out to oppose Eric suddenly stood up again and said, "No, we cannot let Eric continue to act recklessly like this."

"He deceived those poor Viking warriors, who did not know his true nature. They were fooled and turned their swords and axes against the successor chosen by the former king."

“We cannot sit idly by and wait for our doom. If Eric kills Olaf, not only will Norway perish, but even the late king will not rest in peace in the underworld!”

His tone grew increasingly agitated, as if he could already foresee Norway falling apart under Eric's leadership.

He stirred up everyone's emotions, but someone immediately asked in confusion, "But what can we do?"

“We are not as powerful as those Viking warriors, nor do we have the ability to enhance ourselves.”

"Even if we go to help Olaf, we'll only be a hindrance to him, right?"

The man leading the group pondered for a moment, then said, "I think we can inform Lord Olaf first and have him prepare in advance."

"Furthermore, we must remind those Viking warriors who have been misled by Eric."

"They are simply bewitched by Eric's sweet talk. As long as we expose Eric's true colors and thwart his despicable plans, some Viking warriors will surely wake up and join the side of justice."

"Gentlemen, let us act! To save Norway, and to fulfill the late King's last wish!"

Under the leadership of the men, the people of Bergen spontaneously formed two teams. One team would secretly meet Olaf in a carriage within the city to remind him to prepare.

The other squad faced an even greater danger: they had to catch up with Eric's main force and infiltrate the Viking warriors.

They wanted to explain to the Viking warriors the various misdeeds Erik had committed over the years, convincing them that Erik was not a king worthy of their trust.

This is an extremely dangerous mission. The slightest mistake could lead to being reported by the Viking warriors, and if Eric finds out, given his brutality, he might very well execute those who come to tell the truth.

Therefore, this team is led by men themselves.

The two teams set off separately, marching in a grand procession toward the city gates of Bergen.

Meanwhile, Eric's army had just left Bergen.

Even though Eric verbally expressed utter disdain for Olaf, he still stopped in his tracks at this point.

He turned to the Viking warriors and shouted, "Gentlemen, we will rest here and wait for the lords of the other city-states to arrive with their armies."

Upon hearing this, the Viking warriors tensed up, thinking that Chief Eric was indeed well-prepared.

However, there was always a sense of unease and something was wrong in their hearts.

Olaf had only just returned with his Viking warriors, less than a week after he became the new king.

Eric, surprisingly, had already prepared for rebellion so quickly and had even contacted the lords of other city-states.

This makes it seem as if this rebellion was something he had planned all along.

Seeing the Viking warriors deep in thought, Eric coughed and said, "Alright, everyone, concentrate and don't let your minds wander!"

Meanwhile, a secret squad spontaneously formed by Bergen had arrived at the royal palace in Nidaros and met Olaf.

People chattered, saying, "The people of Aura, Eric has formed a rebel army and is coming for you."

"Yes, yes, he turned those Viking warriors against him."

"His brutality is well-known, you absolutely must not let him..."

Olaf sighed. "I already know."
