Arthas shouted urgently, "Prepare for battle! Get ready for combat!"
At his command, the naval personnel near the coastline immediately sprang into action, forming neat ranks and boarding the ships, while the naval forces watched the scene intently ahead.
Lin Ke and Arthas also boarded a ship, ready for battle.
Arthas said anxiously, "These fleets arrived without any prior notice, and we don't know which country they belong to."
Lin Ke frowned as she looked at the fleet in the distance. She couldn't see their flags either, and couldn't tell which country they belonged to.
Currently, neither the frigates nor the gunpowder have been successfully developed. When the enemy attacks, we can only rely on the sea monster cavalry of Atlantis and the still untrained Holy Egyptian navy.
Just as the fleet was about to approach the waters surrounding Holy Egypt, and Arthas was preparing to order the sea monster cavalry to attack, the approaching fleet suddenly slowed down and came to a stop.
"What are they trying to do?" Arthas asked, looking at the fleet lined up in a row, his expression filled with doubt and surprise.
Lin Ke said, "How about I take the boat there..."
"No!" Lin Ke was interrupted in unison by the others before she could finish speaking.
Arthas said anxiously, "Your Majesty, you are the supreme leader of the Holy Egyptian League. We must not allow any accidents to happen to you."
Nan Tong also said, "Your Majesty, this old minister is willing to do your duty and find out the intentions of those fleets."
"No, let me go. Even if they attack me, I can return to Stonehenge and have a chance to be reborn," Ramses said calmly.
“No, no, no, I’ll go. They’re near the coast of Holy Egypt, they shouldn’t attack me. I’m the King of Atlantis, they wouldn’t be so bold,” Arthas said, stepping forward again.
"Look! A flag has been raised!" Just as the group was arguing, a cry of surprise suddenly came from the army.
Everyone turned to look, and saw a huge flag flying on the largest ship in the center of the fleet.
"What country is this?" Everyone discussed the design on the flag.
Lin Ke, who had attended the World Conference, felt an inexplicable familiarity with this flag.
Nan Tong whispered in Lin Ke's ear, "Your Majesty, this is... Spain."
That's right, this large fleet was sent by Spain.
Spain is a world-renowned trading power, and its naval strength is certainly not lacking.
Lin Ke couldn't help but wonder, was Spain going to send troops to Holy Egypt?
But I only had some disputes with Spain at the World Conference, is it really necessary to directly send troops to Holy Egypt?
Lin Ke had envisioned the many obstacles that other major powers would face after the Civilization Alliance was established, but he did not expect them to come so quickly, and he certainly did not expect that Spain would be the first to come.
Nan Tong was also puzzled: "Your Majesty, what's going on? Is it because of what happened at the World Conference that he's going to blockade the coast of Holy Egypt?"
Lin Ke shook her head: "I don't know what they're thinking either."
The group exchanged bewildered glances, watching the direction of the fleet warily for a while, but the fleet simply remained stationary, showing no intention of leaving or launching an attack.
Arthas pleaded again: "Your Majesty, please allow me to negotiate with them. I am from Atlantis, and they should not attack me indiscriminately."
Lin Ke pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded: "Alright, then you take the lead and go ask them about their intentions."
Upon hearing this, Nan Tong and Ramses hurriedly said, "Your Majesty, why don't we go together to protect Arthas's safety?"
Lin Ke said calmly, "No need. If their target is Holy Egypt, your going there would only make things worse."
"Yes, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh," the two said helplessly.
Tefnut, however, said to Link with an innocent look, "Your Majesty, it's just a few ships, isn't it? I can just flip them over."
Everyone was startled upon hearing this, only then remembering that there was a god of rain and moisture beside them, who could easily create a storm.
Arthas looked at Tefnut with a puzzled expression: "Your Majesty, who is this?"
Lin Ke smiled and said, "This is a newly awakened supreme god of our Holy Egypt, named Tefnut."
Arthas's expression changed: "Congratulations, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh! Holy Egypt has gained another god, this is a great thing."
"If a storm could be stirred up, this fleet would be utterly vulnerable."
Lin Ke shook her head and said, "It's best not to make a move before we've ascertained their intentions."
"Arthas, you go ahead and investigate the situation."
"Yes, Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh." Arthas personally boarded a four-section sailing ship and led several sea beast riders toward the fleet.
The sea monster riders of Atlantis watched with tense eyes as Arthas sailed away in his ship.
Lin Ke clenched his fists, ready to issue orders at any moment.
If anything goes wrong or negotiations fail, he will order the rescue of Arthas.
The four sailboats moved at high speed and soon became a small dot, sailing close to the fleet.
The crowd watched as the four sailboats were moored beside the large ship in the center, and then seemed to be led aboard by the people on the ship.
Arthas and several sea monster riders boarded the ship and disappeared, causing everyone's hearts to leap into their throats.
A minute passed...
Three minutes have passed...
Ten minutes have passed...
The sea monster cavalry of Atlantis began to stir, and Nan Tong said worriedly, "Your Majesty, should we...?"
Lin Ke took a deep breath: "Wait five more minutes. If Arthas hasn't returned by then, we'll launch an attack on the fleet directly."
Everyone nodded, trying to calm their worries.
Time passed by, second by second.
Lin Ke's palms were already slightly sweaty. Just as he was about to raise his arm and give the order to launch an attack, several figures suddenly came down from the large ship and returned to the four-section sailboat.
"It's Arthas and the sea brethren, they're back." Everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Lin Ke also lowered his arm and quietly watched the four sailboats return.
Before long, Alsace, aboard a four-section sailboat, approached the coastline of Holy Egypt.
Lin Ke led the group forward to greet him.
"Drip, drip." Arthas got off the ship, water droplets dripping from his clothes.
Lin Ke noticed Arthas's gloomy expression, which didn't look good, and his heart sank. He stepped forward and asked, "How is it, Arthas? What exactly does the other side want to do?"
Arthas raised his head and said through gritted teeth, "They said that they will take over the trade routes here from now on, and all our ships that want to trade here will have to pay gold."
"I negotiated with them for a long time, but still..."
"The talks broke down."
