Heliopolis.
Also known as Sun City.
This ancient city was once known as the "Home of Gods" by the Egyptians.
Once upon a time, there were nine pillars supporting the sky and lotus flowers surrounding the pond.
Even the first pharaoh once sighed here.
"The mortal body will eventually decay, but the light of the Nine Pillars will last forever."
The statue of a mythical bird on top of the obelisk has its wings spread out, with flames blazing from its wings.
That is guiding people to offer their words of praise to the great sun god.
But now, this ancient city has changed its appearance.
This city of the sun is now shrouded in dark clouds all day long.
The nine pillars were broken and the lotus in the pond had long since turned to dry dust.
Even the statue of the divine bird is now covered by sand and dust. If you don’t look carefully, you can’t tell that the stone statue still looks like a divine bird.
In the center of the city, the once glorious Temple of the Sun is now in ruins.
Not only that, even part of the Sun Temple was destroyed.
Pillars collapsed and stones were scattered.
The ancient murals on the walls of the temple were chiseled beyond recognition.
Those patterns depicting gods and pharaohs of successive dynasties can now only be glimpsed and guessed through imagination.
At this time, a group of Egyptian slaves were nearby, being forced to carry stones from the temple.
“Hurry up!”
An overseer brandished a whip and roared viciously.
"You lazy dogs, if you keep dawdling I'll chop you up and feed you to the vultures!"
"If you don't finish moving today, forget about eating, you losers!"
"Hurry up!"
The Hebrew soldiers and overseers had ferocious faces.
There were even elephants and horses around, and these animals were also carrying things with great effort.
There were almost thousands of slaves here, and even more Hebrews.
Not only that, there are also some slaves captured from other places.
People from Atlantis, the Amazon, and even the Mayans, who lived far away from here, were captured and brought here as slaves.
There were also some slaves, and even the people on this continent didn't know where the Hebrews brought them from.
But none of this matters.
Because, here, their identities are the same.
The slaves' movements were slow and heavy, and their faces were numb, as if their souls had been rotten due to the physical torture.
Here, every slave had heavy shackles on his wrists and ankles, and the iron chains dragged on the ground, always making a "clanging" sound.
Their clothes were already in tatters, and their bodies were covered with whip marks and bruises.
There were even maggots wriggling in the wounds of some slaves.
"Hurry up! Hurry up! How long will it take to move like this?"
A Hebrew soldier wields a whip and strikes an Egyptian slave hard on the back.
“Bang!”
With just one move, the slave's body trembled violently.
But he did not fall down, nor could he fall down, and he dared not fall down.
That would result in a more vicious beating.
"These stones..."
Another young slave muttered.
"It's impossible for one person to move it..."
Another slave whispered, "Shut up!"
There was a deep scar on his face, and his eyeballs moved left and right and up and down, as if he was afraid that the Hebrews would stare at him.
"Do you want to die? They are listening right next to you!"
Upon hearing this, the young slave just gritted his teeth and said nothing more.
His eyes swept over the Hebrew soldiers around him, and a hint of ruthlessness flashed in them.
But in just a second, the ruthlessness disappeared.
Just then, a Hebrew officer walked towards them.
There was no expression on his face. Even if there was a corpse lying in front of him, he just kicked it away like kicking away mud.
He came to the ruins of the temple and raised his head slightly: "Today, all these stone pillars must be removed."
"If we can't finish demolishing it, we will kill a hundred slaves to prevent them from being lazy and wasting food."
When the slaves heard these words, their bodies trembled and their breathing became rapid.
But no one dared to resist.
They knew that any resistance would bring even more cruel punishment.
And most of the time, that would result in more of our compatriots being killed.
"Another temple is being demolished..."
An older slave finally couldn't help but speak, with a hint of grief and indignation in his voice.
“This is our belief and our root!”
"We have built the statue of the Hebrew God according to your request!"
"I beg you, don't destroy the temple!"
"I beg you!"
The old slave knelt down, and the pupils of the other Egyptian slaves around him trembled.
Not because the temple was going to be destroyed, but because they feared they might be affected by the wrath of the Hebrew officers.
Many slaves will be killed!
The expressionless officer sneered: "Your beliefs?"
"Now, this place belongs to the Hebrew Empire, and we can demolish whatever we want."
The older slave gritted his teeth and looked at the slaves around him.
These people have already succumbed to the tyranny of the other party.
So, he knew that any argument at this time would be futile.
No one will help him.
At this moment, the old slave suddenly threw down the stone in his hand and shouted loudly: "I quit!"
"You can kill me, but I will never destroy our temple with my own hands!"
His voice echoed in the ruins. The faces of the slaves around him were distorted, and they wished they could go up and cover his mouth.
