“This guy has gone crazy.”
After discovering that Amir had gone crazy, Lin Ke's expression did not change at all.
"What's wrong with him?"
The slave was shocked by Amir's reaction.
According to him, it was not like this the last time he saw Amir.
Lin Ke knew very well that he was most likely traumatized after escaping death last night.
But none of this matters anymore.
So he turned to the slave beside him and said, "Come on, take me to find the third person."
The slave nodded and said as he led the way, "The third person is Samir. He used to be the liaison of the Resuscitation Society. He should be living in the old neighborhood in the east of the city now."
"Well...but I heard about him from others."
“You won’t know until it’s over.”
The two quickly crossed the narrow streets and came to a dilapidated house in the east of the city.
The slave went forward and knocked on the door first.
However, there was no response from inside the house.
Lin Ke turned his head left and right to look, then asked, "He's not here?"
The slave shook his head; he didn't know either.
Just as he was about to knock again, the door next door suddenly opened.
Then, an old woman with wrinkles on her face slowly poked her head out and looked at them warily: "Who are you looking for?"
The slave replied in a low voice, somewhat politely: "Hello, we are looking for Samir."
The old woman sighed, her voice very hoarse: "Samir died yesterday."
"He was killed by the Hebrews in yesterday's battle."
"I'm afraid the bodies have already been taken away to be burned. You can go to the incinerator and take a look."
Hearing this, Lin Ke was silent for a moment, then nodded: "Thank you."
The old woman stared at Lin Ke for a while, with some confusion in her eyes.
But in the end, she said nothing and just slowly closed the door.
The slave turned around and said to Lin Ke in a low and respectful voice: "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, there is only one person left."
"His name is Karim, and I saw him heading toward the incinerator this morning."
Lin Ke nodded: "Okay, just take me there."
Where the bodies were being burned, thick smoke was still billowing and flames were rising into the sky.
Black dust would fall from a long distance away, in large chunks.
The Egyptian slaves were now mechanically throwing the bodies into the fire, while some of the Hebrews were at the other end, each burning his own.
Do not disturb each other.
Lin Ke and the slave walked calmly through the crowd, looking for Karim.
Soon, the slave's eyes lit up when he saw a thin man.
The guy was standing next to the fire, looking at the burning and booming corpse with an expressionless face.
So, Lin Ke walked forward and said in a low voice: "Are you Karim?"
The man turned his head and stared into Lin Ke's eyes.
He didn't say anything, just nodded.
Lin Ke continued: "I want to see Renault."
Of course, now that the Hebrews have been destroyed, Lin Ke can ask so directly.
This would also save time, and if the other party couldn't help, he could quickly formulate a plan to find Anka.
But Karim still didn't say anything, just turned and walked away.
Lin Ke followed behind him, and the slave followed Lin Ke nervously.
He lowered his voice and said, "Your Majesty the Holy Pharaoh, this man has always been like this. Please don't blame him."
Lin Ke waved his hand, indicating that he didn't need to say anything more.
Karim led them to a remote hillside. There was no one around and only the rustling sound of the wind blowing through the sand.
At this time, he stopped and turned around: "I know who you are, Holy Pharaoh."
"How can you come to a place like this?"
The slave was horrified and whispered, "You! If you knew that, how dare you be rude to His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh!"
Lin Ke didn't care, but just said calmly again: "I'm here to see Renault. I have something to ask him."
"It's about the Temple of the Sun."
Karim looked at Lin Ke and nodded after a long silence: "Okay, I'll take you there."
They returned to the old town and walked through several narrow streets.
Finally, they came to a dilapidated house.
Karim pushed open a hidden wooden door, revealing a staircase leading underground to what looked like a cellar or some such.
He walked down first, followed closely by Lin Ke and the slave.
The cellar was dark and damp, and the air was filled with the smell of something rotten.
The slave looked at Lin Ke. He didn't understand why His Majesty the Holy Pharaoh had no reaction to this.
Karim then lit an oil lamp, and the faint light illuminated the narrow passage ahead.
"Renault is in front, follow me closely."
Lin Ke nodded and followed him into a black passage.
The passage was narrow and winding, and the walls were covered with cracks, as if they would collapse at any time.
"Why do you dare come here, Holy Pharaoh?"
"Aren't you afraid that we are traitors and will kill you here?"
The slave was sweating profusely as he listened, and he kept swallowing his saliva.
Lin Ke said at this time: "If I were afraid, I wouldn't have come in."
"So, why did you bring me here?"
Karim was silent for a moment, then he said, "Because the ancient gods of Egypt do not respond to us."
"They don't help us, they don't lend us a hand."
